Chapter Text
Zat was beyond furious.
He'd had done so much for them, from cleaning their floors, to washing their weapons and even helping in planning their next attack. He had been doing this all for them for almost a full month, and how much where they giving him for his hard work?
Minimum wage.
MINIMUM. WAGE!
Not a single raise in almost 4 weeks of work. No one managing his work had thought to increase his pay once during that time. What kind of people do they think they are?!!?
Wait.
Zat just had a realization of what kind of species were giving out his paychecks.
Cats.
Zat mentally signed at his recognition.
Although Zat was a Cat himself, he still considered it bizarre that literal felines were the ones that both worked at his workplace aswell as the ones giving him ¢ent everyday. Zat hated his workplace with a burning passion, almost every cat there always gave him disgusted looks wherever they saw him, but in there defense, if Zat was still "human" and saw a zombified cat at his work too, he'd probably do the same. But it wasn't just that, sometimes, a fellow worker (usually a rookie because they were always new and didn't think twice before their actions) would go up behind him and lighty poked his exposed brain. This doesn't happened often.
But everytime it does, it took every fiber in his rotten body to NOT maul his co-worker to death.
One time when it happened, he instantly slashed the other's "paw" with his claws, causing blood to go everywhere. It was absolute luck he wasn't fired for that. But that was because he said to the bleeding brain-poker: "TELL. NO-ONE". Causing the other to run instantly.
Zat had wanted to quit his job so bad, but if he did, he'd barely be able to keep himself alive. Zat was a pretty much a stray, he hadn't slept since he was in his......
Zat didn't want to think about that place ever again.
Zat was walking on the street of hometown, wanting to get to the store real quick so that he could purchase some "dinner". Most of Zat's dinners consisted of cheap junk food with the side of a random dead bug. And if he got lucky, he would get his purple little paws on a rat to eat. For his drink, it usually be a small sized water. It'd take him at least 3 days of saving up ¢ent if he wanted to buy a normal sized water.
Zat barely had anything going for him. He has a homeless man's equivalent to a "living", he also had a small cellphone that Zack had given him 2 weeks after there "union".
Zat still didn't want to think about that place...
A semi-loud notification interrupted his walking aswell as his thoughts, which luckily were a good thing this time.
He turned on his phone to see what caused this notification, to Zat's surprise, it was message. A message from......MAN?
he forgot that during Zack's........
Zat STILL didn't dare think about that entire situation......
Once Zat and Zack "reunited", Zack introduced him to a friend of his, that being MAN, a Stick Creature with with absence of legs, or were his legs just deep inside the earth? Did he even have legs? Zat didn't know, he didn't bother to find out.
But his main question was: "Why was MAN texting me in the first place?". In order to answer his question, (or just out of pure curiosity) Zat opened his messages.

Heya Zat! You wanna come hang out
at my place tonight? Zack's currently
out of town, so I'd be just you n me.
I'll even make us some food if you
want some!

Zat was bit shocked at this sudden invitation from... really in his mind, an acquaintance. Yeah, he's been answering some texts from him, as well as occasionally meeting up with him. (most of the time by accident because their town is the size of a extra large ant farm) But other then that, he barely spoke to the guy. Although Zat was a bit suspicious of this sudden message from MAN. Why all of a sudden to give him a visitation chance out of the blue? Zat was in no mood to get cautious about something. Work had been as tiring as ever and if this was an elaborate trap to get him kidnapped, then so be it. Plus the 50/50 chance to get murdered or get free food seemed like pretty good odds to him. Zat quickly typed up a response to MAN's offer.

Sounds delightful. I'm coming over.

Quick and short, like all of Zat's texts. Imminently after he sent his message over, he turned around and started head in the direction of MAN's house.
Zat didn't have a sweet clue what he was getting himself into, but whatever it was...
Hopefully it wouldn't be the end of him...
