Summary:

Yet at the same time, it's the name of a myth. A myth meant to soothe the quirkless.
One For All is the name of a boy, only showing himself in the dead of night, visiting the quirkless children of Japan, gifting them with Quirks they once could only dream of.
Finally, One For All is a hero, a hero who saves them all.
But at his core, One For All is a simple boy with white hair and green eyes.
One For All is the name of Izuku Midoriya, son of All For One.

Chapter Text

  "Mommy?"

  "Yes, dear?"

"Will I get a Quirk from One For All?" Shiobana Meigetsu, an average five-year-old girl, asked her parents.

"Of course." Her mother's eyes were filled with tears, "I'm sure he'll visit you soon.

  "Even if I'm quirkless?"

"Especially if your quirkless." Her father's eyes did not show the same wateriness as her mother's, but there was a pain born from false hope. "He'll give you a Quirk soon. One more powerful than your old man's!" Her father tried his best to choke back a sob.

Her mother gave her a tender kiss on her forehead. "Good night, sweety. Sleep well."

  "Okay!"

The hope in that word was almost enough for her parents to break down.

They closed the door gently as they left, careful not to wake their little angel. The devastated parents sat in front of the dining table. The father covered his eyes with his hands, while the mother didn't bother hiding her tears. Who could blame them--their little girl was diagnosed quirkless, after all.

It was painful for them to see their daughter cling to false hope. No one was going to give her a quirk. Nobody could do that. The Quirk boogeyman wasn't real, and neither was One For All.

The former was just a tale born decades ago, made to scare quirked children to behave, about a man who stole Quirks from misbehaving kids.

While the latter was a story born just two years prior, meant to give the quirkless false hope, about a white-haired child that visited the quirkless late at night and gave them any Quirk they wished.

Tales and stories, they both were. Akin to superheroes like Batman or Superman, whose stories were well known in the pre-Quirk era. Who could take and gift quirks as they desired? No one, that's who. Quirks like that didn't exist.

  *Knock knock* *Knock knock*

The sound of someone knocking on their door aroused the two parents from their internal turmoil.

"Who could that be? We aren't expecting anyone, are we?" The father asked.

"No, we aren't." The mother answered.

They didn't need to open the door. The space in front of the dining room became distorted, and a small figure appeared in a puff of white smoke. The figure was obviously male, and from his height, he looked about nine years of age. He wore a child-sized suit with bright red sneakers that completely clashed with his outfit. A black mask covered most of his face, only exposing his eyes that shined akin to rubies under the setting sun. Though the most eye-catching thing was his hair, whiter than freshly fallen snow in December, with a faint pine-green glimmer around each strand.

"Greetings," The child spoke, and from his voice, he sounded much older than nine, "My name is One For All. I'm here to see Shiobana Meigetsu. Is she in?"
