"Wil!" A boy shouts, turning his head to face his brother "Did you see that? I made my kite do a loop-de-loop!" He points with one hand while the other secures a firm hold on the only thing connecting said kite to him, tugging on the frail string as the tail of the kite dances along to the beat of the air. "Wil?" The boy asks once more, realizing his eyes never landed on the sight of his brother but the endless field before him
"Oh"
His voice carried out to the sky, where the birds part for the winds to deliver his message, his wish, as it sends a breeze back as response, a promise
"You did see it, right?" he smiles up at the clouds, cherishing the way the gusts of wind ruffles his hair in that oh so familiar way someone used to
