Work Text:
It's one of Georginas' schemes that leads her and Dan Humphrey to elope to New Haven for a shotgun wedding at court. The judge with a bright raspberry lipstick rushing through the ceremony as the next couple acts as their witness.
Their eyes bright and glistening a strong contradiction to hers and Humphreys. Dan's are moving around the court house his nerves are very apparent while hers are well if it isn't her natural setting, indifferent.
A good pushback to the marriage is the reaction she wanted. Coming from all directions except Lily who was always a better mother to everyone, but her own children.
Hearing the retired musician now gallery owner yelling at Dan was exhausting. The only thing Georgina could do was roll her eyes as Lily offered Jenny's room as the nursery in the quaint apartment.
Serena was clearly apprehensive, not really wanting to stay long wherever Georgina was. Her loss. Blair had called him stupid while still supporting him, the least reluctant was Nate but he's just a Labrador with a human body.
No one wants their child to be born on a holiday. Especially one that's as violently celebrated as the 4th of July. But when Georgina woke up in labour Dan took her to the hospital straight. Her parents were the first to see her and Milo, their grins basically breaking their faces. They point out the features on the baby, he has her nose while he has Dan's eyes.
She doesn't get why they're getting sentimental, but it's getting her trust fund back so semantics don't really matter.
It's not in her nature to stay, but when she comes home from an exciting brunch with her in-laws, Lily and Alison. She see's Dan sleeping in their bed with Milo in his arms. And it brings something warm into her heart. She's not sure what it is, but she likes the feeling of it.
At no one's surprise she does leave eventually with Dan and Milo in tow. It's not a shock since Dan has been seemingly exiled from the group at the current moment due to his book which Vanessa, the Brooklyn dweller has more respect in her eyes, getting his book published. She obviously finds it funny that they're upset they've being exposed in a book when Gossip Girl does that all the time online. It's whatever though since it gives her a clean break from New York and the life in Europe she's always wanted.
