Am I your Heroin?

Summary:

Calliope and Juliette decide to have a little movie night at the Burns residence, luckily nobody is home except them.

Work Text:

Tonight is a little different. The Burns family members are out of town hunting a pair of banshees. Calliope gladly stayed home because of her wrist that she had broken while training, maybe she does push herself a little too hard, but at least she doesn't have to listen to banshees screeching and screaming all night. Calliope hated that, they would always haunt her in her dreams as a kid, but she's a Burns, It's her duty to protect her family, and girlfriend now. Is her girlfriend immortal? Yes, but she does tear up every time she gets a paper cut during class, so she must be protected at all costs. Not tonight though, because tonight they're staying out of harm's way - inside of the Burns living room.

Twilight is playing and the two of them are sitting next to each other on the couch - Cal's unscathed hand resting on Juliettes thigh.

“Our skin does not glow like ‘diamonds’ in the sunlight. It's impractical and silly.” Jules has been criticising this movie all night. Telling Cal what's true and what's bogus.

Cal stares at her beloved girlfriend in awe. “It would be pretty cute though - seeing you glow in the sunlight.”

Juliette scoffs. “I’m not cute already?”

“Oh you are.” Cal kisses Juliette’s cheek. “But glowing would be pretty cool.”

“But it's you, your scent, it's like a drug to me. You’re like my own personal brand of heroin.” Is heard within the background - coming throughout the television speakers.

“How about that?” Cal asks, curious about vampires and their abilities, especially Juliettes. “Am I your heroin?”

Juliette smiles “If you have any questions you know you can ask me, right?”

“I just asked you a question.”

Juliette chuckles - grabbing hold of Cal's hand upon her thigh. “When I don't feed for a while my senses get really intense. Like… your heartbeat is a pounding in my head, your voice is unbearably loud, all I can taste is your chapstick from your lips, your touch tickles my skin. It's like that with all of us, but feeding brings it down, makes everything… calmer. Right now, all I can smell is you. I think…” Juliette pauses. “I think you make me more attentive. Like.. whenever you enter the room all I can smell and think about is you. I guess you are ‘my own personal brand of heroin’.”

Cal smiles as she leans in for a gentle kiss. She pulls away. “I think you’re my ‘own personal brand of heroin’ too. Everything is easier when you’re here. Everything is just more tolerable, and I don’t think it's because we’re connected, it's more than that. This is real.”

The vampire smiles. “It is real.”  She grabs the back of Calliopes neck, pulling her in for a kiss. Calliope deepens the kiss - grabbing Juliettes face and tilting her head back, giving her easy access to her neck. Soon enough Cal is on top of Jules, switching to her lips and her jaw, down to her neck once again. Juliettes breaths become heavier every minute that goes by, sighing in Cal's ear.

“Oww, wrist, wrist.” Calliope suddenly groans, sitting up to relieve the pressure on her wrist.

“Sorry.” Jules apologizes, sitting up, placing a quick kiss on her lover's lips.

“Next time.”

“Next time.” Juliette chuckles.

Cal smiles, glancing at her girlfriend's lips. “We should probably finish this before my family gets back.” she gestures towards the flatscreen.

“Right. Finish.” Juliette agrees, pressing another kiss to Calliope's lips. “Can I be big spoon?” she smiles. Cal nods, laying down on her side - with little space behind her.

Juliette settles down, wrapping her arm around her.

Next time.
