Work Text:
Things were fraught in the Devildom.
Satan cautiously looked both ways. The corridor was ominously quiet, strangely empty of students. Possibly too quiet. He had no choice. He had to make it to the campus library somehow.
Creeping out of the shadows, he took his chances.

Beel was hungry, so empty. He felt like his bellybutton was stuck to his backbone. He just knew the stress was causing him to lose weight. He was sure if you had a hammer you could play his ribs like a xylophone. Cautiously he opened the fridge. In a manner entirely unlike his usual self, he inspected every container of food before he even thought about starting to eat.
This was no way for a demon to live.
He looked over at Belphie dozing on the couch, thankful that at least he could be sure he and his twin would always have each other's back in these trying times.

Ready for his bath, Asmo carefully inspected every bottle, container and beauty bar. Each individual lotion and potion and hand cream and body butter. Everything. Every. Single. Thing. He even shook out all his fluffy towels. That he had to do this now each night had become a matter of course.
There were no choices left. He couldn't afford to take risks that this current problem would interfere with his beauty routine.

Levi snuck out at 3 am. This was his last supply run. After this he'd have sufficient stores that he could barricade the door and hide in his room till the emergency passed. He slipped from shadow to shadow as he headed down to raid the kitchen.
To think they'd been reduced to this.

Lucifer and Mammon stood outside the study door. They exchanged glances, then each took a deep breath and with a wave of magic Lucifer pushed the door open. Mammon ducked just inside the open doorway, checking out the room before signalling for Lucifer to take the next step.
As a team they moved carefully through the room, searching everything before shutting and locking the door.
"I think it's safe," said Lucifer. "We need to talk strategy. There's got to be a way to deal with this problem."
Mammon shook his head uncertainly. "I dunno. I reckon we ain't never faced nuthin' this big before."

Barbatos was lost in the depths of his room with many doors. He was determined to walk the paths of possibility and to discover who'd sent the book that brought chaos itself to the Devildom's doorstep.
Viewing all possible futures had shown him there was no way to stop the current situation from unfolding. He simply had to let events run their course. He was determined however to find the culprit responsible for the disaster.
Someone needed to be punished and the butler was just the person to do it.

Unaware of the chaos in his realm, Diavolo sat in his office reading and making notes.
Turning to the bookmark around half way through the volume, Diavolo smiled happily as he planned tomorrow's activities. So far each of these ideas had worked - and they'd certainly made him laugh heartily every time.
