“So”
Mafuyu fixes her glasses, looking at Ena, who is smiling wide and swinging her body back and forth.
“You want me to accompany you to the mall?” Ena nodded at her, still swaying her body. “Why can’t Mizuki go-”
“They said they have sudden work today and don’t ask for Kanade because I'm sure that girl won’t go outside,” Ena opened her eyes, now looking at Mafuyu. “Besides, you don’t have anything to do, right? Besides studying of course,” Mafuyu sighed, I guess she didn’t have another choice besides to accompany her.
“You are lucky that my parents aren’t home today, just wait for me inside, I’ll get ready in 15 minutes,” Mafuyu letting Ena in, and closing the door, she guided Ena to sit on the sofa.
Mafuyu locks her door and goes to her closet, searching for clothes that hopefully Ena can tolerate for a bit. She goes in a blue jacket with black training pants. After she is sure there is nothing wrong with the outfit, Mafuyu meets with Ena.
“Ena, is this okay?” Mafuyu questioned Ena once she was outside. Ena inspected her outfit, looking up and down from the head to the toes, and with a satisfying hum, Ena took Mafuyu’s hand with her.
“Ena you haven’t told me our destination,” Mafuyu looked in front of her, trying to get an idea where the hell are they going to go, “hm...I think I want to go to the mall to look at some clothes and probably to the cafe that sells good pancakes,” Ena answered without looking at Mafuyu.
Before Mafuyu could say anything more, Mafuyu heard some people talking beside them, Mafuyu trying to listen to what they were talking about.
“Hey, did you think that the girl wearing a pink dress is cute?”
“Yeah bro, and she has a nice body too,”
“I know right? Damn, I wish that I can get her num-”
Mafuyu took a deep breath, she doesn’t know why but she feels uncomfortable upon hearing those words.
Who do they think they are? Talking about girls' bodies first to get close to them.
Mafuyu took Ena’s hand and brought her faster to the mall. Of course, the action surprised Ena, but she keeps going along. Wondering why is suddenly Mafuyu looks mad and taking her hands.
“Mafuyu, can you let go of my hand? Your grip is too strong,” Ena tries to gain Mafuyu’s attention, and she is successful because Mafuyu lets go of her hand, “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that my grip was that strong.”
Ena shook her head, now she was back to guiding where she wants to go, first stop was the clothing stores. Mafuyu can\t understand why Ena likes to come to this kind of store, the coloring of each dress and clothes are so bright for her liking and the smell is so strong that Mafuyu gets uncomfortable feeling when she spins her head too fast. And when she feels like someone comes closer to Ena with a weird face, Maufyu immediately goes near her, and once again, Ena notices but she keeps this for later.
The arcade is their second stop, Ena is the one who drags her to the claw machine. Telling her that she’s sure that Mafuyu will get what she wants. After Ena insert the coin Mafuyu play the said games, and she counted how possible it can get the rabbit doll outside this machine. After she’s sure that she can get it, Mafuyu launch at the said doll. And of course, she got it, making Ena jump around and immediately hug the doll after Mafuyu give her.
Mafuyu just looked at her with a small smile on her face, she is always feeling good whenever her friends smile at something she gave them. When she was about to open her mouth, she hear some guys talking about Ena.
“Damn, her legs are so good, man”
“You are right, I hope that I can hug her too she seems soft”
Once again, Mafuyu feels uncomfortable. She look around and after she found these guys, she took off her jacket, leaving her only with her black shirt. She wears her jacket around Ena’s waist, making the latter confused at first but looking at Mafuyu’s expression, she just lets her be. And of course, Mafuyu is standing close to her again, with her eyes scanning around the place.
And for their last stop, Ena brings her to the cafe where she wants to come with Mizuki. Ena is the first one to order, still wearing Mafuyu’s jacket, she told Mafuyu that she will wear it and not tie it around her waist, Mafuyu first was reluctant about it but she agreed because she told Ena that she will walk behind her.
“So, you’ve been acting strange,” Ena said after the waiter leave them alone with their order, Ena with pancakes and Mafuyu with Vanilla milkshakes.
“What do you mean?”
“You mad for no reason, and suddenly come close to me, and I know sure that you hate being too close with people even if it with us,” Ena took a bite of her pancakes, wiggling her body when the taste of the pancakes meet her tongue. “Oh…you notice?” Mafuyu question her, sipping a bit of her milkshake, and decided that the taste is not bad.
“Of course, so tell me,” Ena place her head on her hand, looking at Mafuyu seriously.
“It’s just…I heard some people talking about you but not from your face, but…about your body and they look at you not normally and it makes me uncomfortable because yes, of course, you have a nice body but still I prefer people talking about you about your face or even knowing you from your social media and not from your body especially down there…” Mafuyu continues to answer. Not aware of Ena’s face that becomes red the more Mafuyu talk.
“And at the arcade, there are 2 guys that hoping that they can touch you and because of it, I took off my jacket to cover your legs but because you don’t want it, I walk behind you,” Mafuyu finished her answer by looking at Ena’s eyes, she hopes that her answer is enough.
“W-wow,” is all Ena managed to say after closing and opening her mouth for the past 2 minutes. “So, that’s why are you becoming like my bodyguard?” Ena took a bite of her pancake again, damn it’s become cold now because she didn\t eat it when she was listening to Mafuyu.
“Yes, sort of, I just want to protect you from bad guys, you are one of my precious friends after all,” Mafuyu answered, taking a sip of her milkshake. Ena sure is taken aback by Mafuyu’s word.
Precious friends?? So she is not just an acquaintance anymore?
“Wait you said that we are precious friends…so does that means that?”
“Yes you and all the niigos are my precious friends and I will protect you guys too because if not, then who will save me when I can’t protect you guys?”
“Wait, I don’t quite understand your answer”
“It’s fine, as long as you guys save then you guys still can save me, that’s the summary of my answer,” Mafuyu stirred her milkshakes, hopefully, that the ice can melts quickly because she became fond of this taste.
Ena laughed at it and they continue to chat about their life, Ena always makes sure to not bring up any topic that can make Ena feels uncomfortable of course, and she smiles when she hear Mafuyu talking not only in sentences but three or more sentence. She knows that Mafuyu slowly trusting her more than she was months ago.
And of course, she will give this new information to Kanade and Mizuki, because she is sure that they will be happy to hear Mafuyu’s answer, and God…how much delight she feels when she hears Mafuyu giggle at her silly story.
It’s still long steps of course, but she is sure that they are a step closer to their destination.
