“Just hold still a minute, Cabrera.” Gyro grumbled, adjusting his hold on Fenton’s hand. Well, the hand that was currently encased in the gizmo suit. Fenton couldn’t help it tho, half suited up and Gyro so close to him, “I’ve almost got the wires soldered.” Gyro continued, eyes narrowing further in concentration.
“Sorry, sir.” Fenton responded almost sheepishly, the cool metal against his flesh sending goosebumps up his arm as his elbow brushed against the outer edge of the arm.
“There.” Gyro said, setting down the welding pen as he clasped both hands around the glove. All of a sudden cold metal was replaced by an almost flooding heat that radiated beneath his touch. His fingers flexing as he felt Gyro’s skin shift and roll. Could feel the softness of his hands as the other scientist continued to examine his handiwork. Fenton swallowed hard, his mind racing as he all but drowned in the warmth of Gyro’s embrace.
“Do the sensors work okay?” Gyro asked, completely unaware of just how crazy their joined hands were making the younger man. And Fenton couldn’t help but be cut off by his own voice as he responded quickly.
“Your hands are warm.” Fenton said, a blush overtaking his features.
“And?” Gyro asked with a sigh, his gaze never wavering from where they stayed transfixed on the exposed panel, the blinking lights indicating the portion of the suit was activated. Fenton watched their reflection in Gyro's glasses, his mind still whirling as he struggled to remind himself how to breathe.
“Works fine, sir.” Fenton replied, trying desperately to control his heart pounding in his chest. “Works fine.” he repeated.
