Saturday seemed like the perfect day for treats. A day free from hero-ing (so far), school, and all of Adrien’s extra responsibilities.
Hand in hand, Adrien and Marinette walk down the sidewalk, heading to a cafe nearby Adrien’s house. They were craving some sweets and Adrien didn’t have any laying around so they decided the best option was to walk to a cafe.
Or well, Marinette could just go downstairs to her family’s bakery for something sweet but she wanted to take Adrien out.
It was officially Fall season and what better way to celebrate than to go to a cafe where they have pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin shaped sugar cookies.
Outside was windy and cold but not too cold where you would need to wear a heavy coat and a scarf.
Fall was probably Adrien’s favorite season because of halloween, rainy days, and cold weather just cold enough to be perfect.
Just cold enough that you could hold the hand of the person you loved and it would be enough to keep your hand warm, no gloves needed.
Another reason was Marinette, and he would shout it from the rooftops if you asked him to.
It’s why he says Fall is probably his favorite instead of definitely , because he can have Marinette any season.
Marinette looked over at Adrien, eyeing his lack of jacket or sleeves and asked, “Are you cold, Kitty?”
“Kinda,” He gave a sheepish grin.
“Do you want my coat?”
The blonde took a look at her coat. It was a long and fluffy, black coat with muted red leopard spots. It was a new piece she made recently, a bit different than her typical style.
Adrien thought it looked beautiful on her.
“Yes, please.”
“You have a bad habit of never wearing your coat,” Marinette said as she took off her coat, revealing the pink long sleeved shirt she wore underneath and handed it to Adrien.
“So I can wear yours, of course,” Adrien put on the coat and winked.
“Wow. Good answer,” She laughed.
“Mari, what’s your favorite season? You’ve never told me,” Adrien tilted his head out of curiosity.
The blue eyed girl shrugged, “I don’t think I have one.”
“That’s okay,” He squeezed her hand. “Mine is Fall.”
“And why is Fall your favorite, Adrien?”
“Halloween, rainy days, you, and cold weather that’s just right.”
“Me?” Marinette laughed. “My kitty, I’m with you every season. Why is Fall special?”
“It isn’t! It’s probably my favorite for plenty of reasons, you’re just one of them. You make every season better,” The green eyed boy smiled.
“So you’d love me in any season?” Marinette asked with a smirk.
“I’d love you in any season, Princess,” Adrien said, soft and slow to make sure his point got across.
Finally, they arrived at the cafe. There were fairy lights strung up and halloween decorations scattered anywhere they would fit.
The duo went up to the glass display case next to the cashier’s counter and ogled at all the sweet treats.
Excitedly, Adrien tugged on Marinette’s sleeve. “They have cat cake pops.”
“Do you want one?” She giggled.
“Yes, I really do.”
They ended up ordering two of the cat cake pops, a small box of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and an even smaller box of halloween themed sugar cookies.
They also got a hot chocolate for Adrien and a vanilla latte for Marinette.
After they received their sweets and drinks, they took a seat at one of the tables near a window.
“I want to change my answer,” The blonde announced.
“For?” Marinette took a sip of her latte after she spoke.
“My favorite season.”
“Mm, and?”
“I think that you’re my favorite season,” Adrien said, sincerity ever so present in his tone.
Marinette laughed a bit before replying, “Okay, that sounds good to me.”
“You’re not going to fight me on that? Usually you’re like Adrien, I can’t be your favorite season ,” He said the last part, trying to imitate the black-haired girl’s voice.
“Not today. I’ll be your favorite season because you’re mine too.”
Adrien had the biggest smile on his face, “So you’ve changed your answer.”
“So I have,” Marinette said, the softest smile on her face just for him.
