Chad's sister has sacrificed herself to save Morgan. Rex was supposed to be able to grab them both, but Diego saved Morgan and, in turn, was the only one Rex could grab.
After Chad found out what Rex did, he couldn't live with himself; the funeral made him feel guilty. It felt like ash was in his mouth.
Morgan noticed Chad's distinct change of demeanor and went to talk to him privately, it was easy to gain the information, and Morgan confessed what had happened that night.
Morgan explains to Chad that he got Alex to build a time machine, so they can both go back to that night and save her.
"If we want to get her out alive, then we'll have to bide our time," Morgan whispers, watching his past self fight with Diego on who should go out and get help.
Chad shakes his head; the two have decided to dress in black. "You're not ready to kill, Morgan. Even if it's for your own safety,"
Morgan shrugs. "You'd be surprised what I'm ready for," glancing at his brother. "You say Rex did this? I want to find him for what he has touched, hurt, and wronged. And I want to Ruin them,"
