This is my first upload of any of my writing. I apologize for any grammatical or spelling errors. I took the Harry Potter universe and twisted it to fit my desires. Do not own anything but some plot changes and my original character.
**I'll be splitting this work into two different stories. They will all be in the same series if you're in following along**

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Back in the time of Merlin, it was well known that people had a soulmate who was the perfect match for them. The magic in the world bonds soulmates, giving them the ability to write on their skin and have it appear on their other half. This allowed soulmates to communicate and find one another much easier than it would have been. This manifestation of the soulmate bond was certain in those who possessed the ability to harness the magic in the world while it was rare in those without that ability.

As the two worlds started to separate, soulmates became a myth in the non-magical people. No one believed that soulmates were real until someone woke up on their eighth birthday and suddenly was able to communicate with someone on their skin.

One person who desperately wanted this to be true was orphan Evangeline Circe Dane. Eva had been passed from foster home to foster home her whole life, never staying in one place for long. When she first heard a story about soulmates, she became fascinated that there was someone out there in the world that would want you no matter what. She read everything she could on the subject until she felt like she was an expert.

She would comfort herself with dreams of finding her soulmate after getting passed off from one home to another, feeling unwanted and unlovable. Little did she know that everything would change on February 5, 1989.
