GoGo and her seventeen-year-old sister Aera were the best of friends. However, periodically people mixed up who was older. For example, Aera was 5'7, while her older sister was only 5'4. Yet, despite their differences in their height, each had an incredibly fit body.
The sisters each had jet-black locks with a glossy bright purple stripe. Only Gogo's hair was short, while Aera's reached her shoulders. They also shared the 'badass' look regarding their attire. Except Aera bore a few notable piercings that her sister did not have.
The sisters were on GoGo's meg-lev cycle heading to school. However, underneath her black helmet, GoGo was concealing an expression of uneasiness. This would be her sister's first day joining her at SFIT, and GoGo couldn't help but stress.
Aera had been looking forward to joining her sister at a prestigious university since GoGo started attending. However, she did feel a bit insecure right now. One only had to glance at Aera's right arm or the left side of her face to see why both sisters were unsettled.
Aera remembered what it had been like before they set out today—thinking back to the exchange in their shared bedroom. But, from Aera's perspective, the recollection remained simply part of her day-to-day routine.
"GoGo! Please quit looking at me like that! I don't want you ever to show me pity! I can handle myself!" Aera snarled irritably as she finished getting dressed.
"Sis, I know you can handle yourself. Whether it be physical or verbal," her older sister responded from her cozy bed. The older badass threw her old gum in the rubbish before popping in a new piece. She even offered chewing gum to her sister, who grudgingly took it.
After they both had their nerves under control, GoGo resumed speaking."The last individual who made malicious remarks regarding your face or arm had to pick up their teeth literally."
"Then WHY are you anxious?" Aera demanded angrily. She rapidly spun around to confront her sister, exposing multiple burn scars on the left side of her gorgeous face. Her prosthetic arm clenched its fist tightly by her side.
"Look, you're my baby sis, and it's my job as your sister to guarantee you're safe," GoGo reminded her sister of her responsibility. "I just wanted to let you know if anyone dares makes any sorta wisecrack about you today. Then I'll make sure to pound them into the sand!"
"I appreciate that you still desire to defend me from bullies, sis," Aera replied, sitting beside her sister. Then she took a deep breath before replying, "But I'm no longer fifteen. I've grown a lot stronger since that fire. So I also wish you stop blaming yourself for it."
GoGo still hung her head, guilty. "If I hadn't been partying, I could've got you out, and this wouldn't have happened!" she stated again. Unquestionably from her expression and tone, she felt tremendous guilt regarding the house fire.
Aera sighed before reiterating, "GoGo, it wouldn't have made any difference if you were here or not. Even the fire department said so. There was simply no way to predict the defective wiring.
Also, even if you had been here? Who's to say you wouldn't have ended up injured or deceased? I rather have these scars then lose my best friend! So, therefore, can't you concentrate on me being alive? I understand you'll forever be by my side to protect me. But let me learn to fend for myself, okay?"
They arrived on campus, where GoGo helped her sister to her first class. "Now remember, Aera. If you need me, call me. I'll see you at lunch, okay?"
"Yes, GoGo, I know. I'll be fine!" both sisters embraced tightly. Then with a wave of her hand, they went their separate ways. Aera attempted to disregard the stares she received.
Despite the badass look, her sister helped her put it together. The attire GoGo picked out consisted of a royal purple backless top and a mini leather jacket. She also bore her midriff while wearing black cargo pants and leather ankle boots in a classic seductive badass female look. Her sister wore it well, that was for sure.
Yet, despite GoGo's endeavors to help her sister look more formidable? Aera was far from a proper badass like her sister. Truthfully, the young lady had a more introverted and reserved personality.
Yet, GoGo had done her most reasonable to help toughen up her sister, particularly following the house fire. Her little sister didn't have to take anyone's crap. She eventually arrived at her first class. She preferred to sit in the back of the classroom so no one gawked at her.
Before the tardy bell rang, the last of the stragglers came in. Her keen eye caught four young teens deciding to sit in the back. They're unquestionably much younger then the rest of the class. They looked like they were scarcely in their teens!
Still, she did her most reasonable to pay attention to the professor. Aera's end goal was to devise and enhance prosthetics for amputees. Therefore, passing her chosen classes was critical if she hoped to obtain the degrees required to accomplish that objective.
Out of the corner of her eye, she watched the quartet, diligently taking notes. She discovered that the two boys were identical twins through meticulous observation. They appeared to be of Asian descent, and while they're twins? Each boy had his own signature dress style, so there wasn't a way to confuse them.
She gathered the two girls were presumably their girlfriends. They must be geniuses if they're attending university at a young age. She figured they might have done a group project for the showcase to win a group scholarship to the school.
As the day passed, Aera and the young teens stayed in the same lessons. They continuously sat in the back of the classroom to avoid drawing attention to themselves. Yet, it didn't take a brainiac to see that the five were prime bullying targets.
When the lunch bell rang, Aera scampered to the cafeteria. Her sister had told her that SFIT only served nutritious food for lunch. The school board wanted healthy minds and bodies for their pupils.
Today's meal incorporated a Greek quinoa salad, creamy carrot tomato soup, Asian chicken lettuce wraps, and a green smoothie. Not what most individuals desired to eat for lunch. Yet, that remained on the menu for the day. Aera couldn't uncover her sister's table anywhere. The massive noisy crowd only worsened her anxiety.
She desperately attempted to locate her sister when a commotion nearby unexpectedly made her forget her stress for a moment. She witnessed the four young teens getting bullied by older students. Those entitled asses verbally assaulted them and started getting physical with the teens.
Aera had never been one to stand on the sideline regarding bullies. Forgetting her own troubles, she swiftly marched over to those assholes. "Excuse me? But is there a problem?" she demanded the older boys. They whipped around and laughed at her. She narrowed her coppery eyes at them.
"Well, if it isn't the Bride of Frankenstein! Why do you care what goes on with these twerps? If anything, you should be more worried about yourself," the larger one stated. Even with his horrible breath nearly knocking her out, Aera didn't budge.
"You know its quite pathetic that individuals like you think putting others down is an amusing pastime. You're so bored and unconfident that you can only feel powerful by putting others down. You're all so lame and laughable.
You're only bullying others because you can't feel good about yourself any other way. You are both despicable and beyond pathetic. Moreover, if anyone is hideous here, it's you two douchbags! So leave the kids alone, or you'll regret it!"
"And what are you going to do about you freak?" demanded the other boy with a sneer. "You're just a hideous slut!"
"Oh, boy, are you idiotic," as she raised her prosthetic arm. Out of her fingertips shot out an unfamiliar red gas. Unexpectedly the foolish assholes were howling in agony as their manhood started to swell rapidly.
"Come along," she gestured to the teens. They seemed appreciative and quickly followed her to an empty table. One girl with fuchsia hair questioned what that gas was explicit.
"It's a simple natural remedy from Sudan. It induces hallucinations, but in larger doses, it causes genital swelling. I've numerous tricks up my sleeve. As a young woman, you can't be too cautious," she informed the young teens, who were impressed.
One of the twins asked how long would the gas effects last. Aera answered they last for the next 72 hours. So in three days, the swelling would go down. Hopefully, it would leave a last impression on the bullies by then.
She soon became friends with the others. The twins' names were Hiro and Kage Hamada, who were her sister's friend Tadashi's younger brothers. The girls were their girlfriends, Zeta Moon and Trina Aken.
From that day onward, the five of them were inseparable. Aera was elated to have her own group of companions. It was so nice to have friends who liked her for herself. So she found it nice to have true friends, and now everything would turn out alright.
