Work Text:
The church’s residents and the soon to be wed’s all watched, astonished as the never to be wed's elegant aura slowly fades into the ending night.
The silence hung heavy in the air, awe still struck into the remaining residents of the church. Moonlight filled the church as tension set in.
Victor nervously looked around the stiff room looking for anything to start a new conversation about.
"Umm..errm" Victor mumbles under his breath.
He flickers his eyes from Victoria, to the residents, to the grand decor of the church, nothing really seeming to catch his eyes, as the events that took place today were unexpected.
The pressure in the room grows thicker, making the air feel heavier,
Victor lets his eyes wonder about a little longer, landing upon a ring that once was upon the boney finger of his temporary bride.
"Well..." Victoria begins lightly, breaking the stiff silence.
She removes herself from Victor’s tight embrace and begins sauntering away, "Now doesn't seem quite timely for a wedding…"
She turns and gestures to the behemoth of cake in front of her, "But… letting this beauty go to waste would be criminal wouldn't it dearest?"
She turns back to her small crowd of civilians, "Let us have cake!" Victoria cheered, clasping her hands together. The small crowd cheered as they began to swarm the cake, "Victor?" Victoria's soft voice snaps Victor out of his own dazed thoughts, reeling him back into the present times, "Y-yes dear?"
"You must cut the cake with me, it's a wedding tradition."
Victor nervously ambles over , "Oh, it’s fine. I'm not quite in the mood for eating cake at the moment," As Victor approaches Victoria and the residents, she eyes him up and down, analyzing his deathly thin form as it approaches , "Well it’s tradition for the bride and groom to always get the first cut of cake, even if they don't plan on feasting on it immediately. Plus, I don't think a bite of cake would hurt your frame anyways," Victoria teased, "Well I- H-Hey! What is that supposed to mean!" Victor stumbled over his words, "You're a bit on the thin side dearest, dare I say you’re down right skeletal!" She prods at his boney side, right between his ribs and stomach.
Victor nearly jumped out of his skin at Victoria's sudden prodding at his frame, he haphazardly slapped her dainty hand away from his frail side.
That was a bit crude wasn't it? Him, skeletal?
As Victoria led Victor to the behemoth of the cake, their hands intertwined together around the glass handle of the serving knife, slicing through and handing out generous platefuls of the cream filled monster that was a comically large cake. Victor was lost in thought, was she really gone?
How did he really feel about that?
Did he know Emily long enough to feel any type of way about her very recent departure?
It felt like he did...
Was… Was he really that skinny?
Victoria called him downright skeletal! Right to his face!
Well, he guessed he always took after his father more,
He was tall, lanky with his broad shoulders, and even broader chest. Even as a child he remembers he always had a smaller waist than his mother, he will admit.
He did look a bit deathly sometimes, but he blames that on his age, not his size.
Yeah he looked way more like his father than his mother,
not to say his mother is unsightly by any means,
she is a gorgeous woman but
Victor could never imagine himself ever looking as...healthy and well fed as his mother. Victor always has been on the smaller, more scrawny side, but today that was about to change.
He jumped out of his thoughts when he felt something sticky being pressed against his soft, thin lips.
Victor quickly looked around just to see Victoria with a small plateful of the wedding cake, that was being fed to Victor with a fork,
which has a small piece of cake on it that Victoria had pressed against his lips accidentally smearing white frosting across his thin lips,
"Oh! No thank you, like I said earlier I'm… Not quite hungry," Victor murmurs as he wipes the crumbs and frosting that was smeared across his lips. They had fallen past his lips and onto his tongue.
"Aww, come on Victor! Everyone who had gotten their fill on the cake has left and we still have all this cake left!" Victoria points to the cake they've been cutting away at for the past hour or so, "We've handed out seconds, thirds, and even fourths! I let people
take extra slices to take home to family members who couldn’t come out yet!” Victor looks over at the vanilla mountain beside them, they successfully had rid themselves of one entire tier of cake, but they still had two tremendous tiers of the cake left to themselves, "What do you suppose we do with it?" It felt a little useless trying to do anything with it.
There's nowhere in this town to store it, to try and preserve it, so it will have to mold and go to waste anyways. If they even try to polish off this monstrosity by themselves that would just end in a disaster. So what real options did they really have for this damned cake?
“Well I don't know about you but..” Victoria paused to take a nibble of the cake, “I think i'm going to indulge a bit and personally, I think you should too,” honestly, Victor would love nothing more than to eat away all his current sorrows but, could he really bring himself to do so right now? His head still was swarming with thoughts, and he’d love nothing more than to go to bed, stare at the ceiling and question his entire existence, but he's too young to waste time like that, he's young and still full of life he knows now, better than ever. How precious life is. He has the love of his life and a shit ton of wedding cake in front of him.
So why doesn’t he live life a little and indulge with his fiance?
He looks up, out of his deep thought and sees his fiance sitting at one of the pews of the church elegantly biting away at a plateful of cake Victor saunters over, to the table with the monstrously huge cake and haphazardly cuts him a slice of the cake, a rather sloppy looking slice of cake and ambles over to the pew that Victoria was sitting he awkwardly clears his throat, “Umm… Mind of I take a seat next to you?” Victoria playfully rolls her eyes, and scoots over a bit, “Oh just sit down, you silly oaf,” She chuckles, he can’t help but smirk slightly, before plopping down next to her. There’s a minute of
silence between them that felt like an eternity, “It's pretty good isn’t it?”
“H-huh? Oh um yes! Indeed it is, though I haven't tried it yet but it looks amazing!”
Victoria giggles, “Well, what are you waiting for, silly?”
“Right right of course,” Victoria’s eyes feel like they're burning into him, eating has never been something that was hard for Victor, but now with an audience of one watching his every move like some kinda hungry animal, he found himself getting a bit of stage fright.
However life's too short to get nervous over your soon to be wife watching you eat a minuscule slice of cake, so he digs in taking a hesitant bite as if the cake could bite him back, “mmphf~” It's very sweet, to be expected it's a massive cake. There being enough sugar in this thing to kill a pilgrim but besides that it was good, really good in fact, “Well? How is it?” Victor had nearly forgotten about his audience of one beside him, “A-Ah it’s good! Really good actually,” Victoria giggles, “See! I told you so!” Victor began to say something but Victoria was already off to the other side of the room for another slice of cake, Victor chuckles, “You really must slow down you-” Victoria looks back at him with a look on her face, Victor couldn't quite name, “I’d what? Get fat? Would you really care less for me if I did?” Victors eyes fly open in surprise, and he begins to stammer “W-What!? No no no I would never! Your way more than your body Victoria! I’ll love you no matter what you look like!” Victoria simply just chuckles, sauntering over with two platefuls of cake in each hand “I w-was just saying y-you could make yourself ill eating this stuff in such large quantities! This stuff is jam packed with sugars y-you know?“ Victoria takes her seat next to Victor again, setting the plate on her lap and the other plate in his, “Oh, relax I was jesting with you dear, I know you meant no harm. Now stop working yourself into a knot and eat,” Victor looks between her and the plate she had set in his lap, he begins to say that he had hardly finished his First, but the words die in his mouth when he looks down and sees that he has cleaned his first plate,
“A-Ah I- um… Yes dear,” that single slice of cake would have been enough to fill him on a regular day. He wasn’t a really big eater but today was special so one more slice wouldn’t hurt would it?
It was just supposed to be one more slice,
then it was another, then it was another after that, she just kept bringing him more, and more, feeding him bites off of her own plate, and then began abandoning getting herself her own plate, just to bring him more, he knows he can tell her to stop any time, Victoria isn’t a pushy woman, but for some reason Victor can’t get himself to say the words. He’s not nervous or scared, he just…
Doesn’t quite want this to stop, not yet anyways it feels… Good,
“Ha~ look at you, Vic,” Victor is knocked out of his thoughts by Victoria’s teasing tone, he looks up at her “Oh! Do I have something on my face?” She giggles and pokes his side playfully, “Mmm, look a little lower dearest,” Oh dear had he gotten frosting on this jacket? He had hoped not, it was one of his nicer ones. Victor had peered down at his jacket, dreading the damage, only to find it still in pristine condition but he found something else instead.
His abdomen had swelled substantially, and all of a sudden he realized how tight his suit jacket had felt around his middle and how hot his tie felt around his neck. His breath suddenly hitched, “Oh…Oh! Oh my I- I didn’t realize how much I- i’m so sorry Victoria this is so…” Victor began rapidly stumbling over his words, only to be cut off again but a forkful of cake being shoveled into his mouth, “Oh hush, I have no idea what you're getting yourself so worked up for,'' Victoria's words of comfort only got Victor more wound up, “N-No i’m such a glutton, I should have never-” Another forkful stops him, “Vic, dearest, I honest to god swear across my heart do not care~ You can eat all the cake in the word and I still wouldn’t care. What makes you think I would care for you any less, plus it would do you great if you packed on a few pounds,” Victoria coos, he still stammers, “You wouldn’t care less for me if I was bigger?” Victor wordlessly nods his head, “I wouldn’t dear, besides I think you look quite dashing with a bigger figure, dont you think?” She hums,
placing a gentle hand upon his midriff rubbing in slow soothing circles. Victor’s face feels dangerously hot right now, no words can come to his overheating mind, so he simply just nods, “So will you stop working yourself into knots and just relax and enjoy yourself already?” He never noticed that his shoulder were tense, until he felt them slowly lower from his ears, “W-Well are…are you enjoying yourself right now? It’s unfair if i’m the only one having fun,” Victor softly began to speak, “Oh trust me, dearest i’m having a blast,” If his face wasn’t red before it was most definitely red now. Victoria held another forkful of cake to his lips, this time he leaned forward and took the bite himself.
Victor finally relaxing his shoulders, breathing out
With a big sigh followed by a loud pop. The soon to be weds both looked down, this time to find the bottom buttons of his overcoat have flown off from desperately trying to hold back the fat mound of flesh underneath, as his newly grown gut had spilled forward in his lap. His rusty brown vest and milk white button down barely fought too keep his ghostly flesh from being bare both of their mouth hang open in awe for a moment before looking at each other
Before victor could even make words tumble out of his trap their lips lock into a momental kiss before breaking away, “Victor,” Victoria huffs, “Don’t even start,” She rubs over the straining fabric of Victor’s abdomen, he simply whimpers and leans back, attempting to get more comfortable with his newly grown gut, the church pew suddenly feeling comforting enough to fall asleep in, as his eyelids got heavier, he thinks to himself
maybe …just maybe he could get use to this.
