“Thank you all for coming!” Two girls, one with black hair with dark green tips tied up into a set of twin tails and the other with salmon-pink hair exclaimed to a large cheering crowd in front of the stage they were standing on.
Both girls continued to wave and thank the crowd as they continued to cheer until the pink-haired girl started to move off the stage by walking off to her right behind the stage decorations. But before she completely left she saw her partner was still standing in the middle of the stage nervously waving at the crowd.
The girl giggled and rolled her eyes before slowly making her way back on stage towards the other girl, gently grabbing one of her hands, “Yu, come on we need to go.” The girl whispered.
“E-Eh!? A-Ayumu?” Yu’s eyes suddenly became more focused as her cheeks started to turn a shade of red, “Ah- I uh-” Yu froze in place causing Ayumu to giggle once again.
Ayumu turned to face the crowd one final time, “Thank you everyone for coming and supporting us!” And as her words echoed out she pulled Yu off stage with her.
“W-Wah!” Yu yelped as the crowd and stage vanished from her sight. Once they were off the stage, Yu’s mind finally caught up to her, so she quickly matched pace with Ayumu as they walked backstage in surprisingly calm silence.
However, as soon as they were in the backstage area of the venue Yu let out a long, exhausted sigh followed by her legs giving out making Ayumu grab and steady her, “Ah! A-Are you okay?” Ayumu asked, her voice filled with concern.
Yu took a deep breath and then slowly nodded, “Y-yep!” Yu cheered with a wide and bright smile, “Sorry about that. All the tension I had while we were on stage just disappeared, ehehe.” Yu giggled.
“Geez…” Ayumu shook her head, “Do you need a minute?”
Yu stayed silent for a few seconds and soon the black-haired girl carefully pushed herself away from Ayumu, standing up on shaky feet. “I-I think I’m good!”
“Hmm… Okay. But-” Ayumu grabbed Yu’s hand again and tightly squeezed it. “Just in case~”
“Hehe, thanks!” The pair continued to slowly make their way down the backstage corridor and towards Ayumu’s dressing room. “Maaaan… I didn’t realise how exhausting being on stage like that can be.” Yu suddenly spoke up, looking at Ayumu. “You all are really amazing that you can do that so much, I was so nervous having everyone look at me…”
“Don’t sell yourself short.” Ayumu said in a gentle voice, “It was the first time you really had to get on stage and you did great.” Ayumu stepped closer to Yu, closing the already small gap between them. “Everyone was really excited when you came on to MC. You did amazing.”
“E-Eh!” Yu yelped and nervously glanced off to the side, “I-It wasn’t that impressive… I… I could only do it because of all of you…” Yu looked back to Ayumu with a shy but happy expression, “After seeing you all working so hard and shining on the stage, I couldn’t contain myself!”
Yu took a step back as her previous shy look became more confident, “Especially your performance Ayumu, after you sang Dream with You, ahhh! I nearly had to run on stage to hug you!”
“W-what! Y-Yu, y-you can’t…”
“I knooooow, don’t worry but you were just so amazing and adorable and, and…” Yu suddenly pulled her hand away from Ayumu’s and pulled her girlfriend into a hug, “I couldn’t take my eyes off you!”
“Moooou, Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu…” Ayumu whined as her cheeks turned a bright red until she relented and returned the hug, “I… couldn’t take my eyes… off of you either. I’m… so happy we got to be on stage together.”
“Same here…” Yu murmured as she relaxed into the spur-of-the-moment embrace. “I was… so nervous when you all asked me to MC this live but… I’m really happy I got to stand on the same stage as you all and share my love for all of you.” Yu tightened her grip on Ayumu, “And… Knowing you were all there for me made it possible.”
Ayumu remained silent for a moment until she brought one hand up and gently placed it on Yu’s head, pushing her closer to Ayumu. “I think we all understand how that feels… After all, knowing you’re always there supporting us, lets us all do our best.”
The two continued to hug each other for a little while longer until they reluctantly broke apart, “Okay, I think I’ve calmed down now.” Yu said finally feeling free from all the tension and nerves left over from the show.
“Same here…” Ayumu’s lips grew into a slight teasing smirk, “I’ll also count that as payback for that mean trick you and Karin played on me!”
“E-Eh!? I-I didn’t know she was going to do that! I thought she was going to hug you.” Yu’s own smirk grew to match Ayumu’s, “Buuut it was really cute how you kept trying to pull her off me. You’re so adorable when you’re jealous~” Yu snickered.
“Yuuuuuu!” Ayumu playfully complained, having her own teasing turned against her. Yu laughed at her girlfriend’s expense and once Ayumu had calmed herself again they continued their way back to Ayumu’s dressing room.
“Finally… I’ll be back out in a bit,” Ayumu said, opening the door.
“Wait!” Yu exclaimed as she pulled out her phone, “We nearly forgot to take a picture to celebrate!” Yu pulled Ayumu out of the doorway and lifted her phone up, “Come on!!!”
Ayumu stayed still for a moment, soon shaking her head as she caught up to what Yu was doing. “Geez, if you wanted to do this, we could have done it a little soon.”
“Eheh, sorry. Now come on, get in close, I don’t want any of your outfit to be cut off.”
“Alright, alright.” With that Ayumu freed herself from Yu’s grasp and stepped behind the black-haired girl, she then wrapped her arm around Yu pulling her in close allowing Ayumu to nuzzle into Yu’s cheek. “Is this close enough?”
“Mhmm!” Yu hummed, “It’s perfect, now smile!”

Yu’s phone camera went off and captured the moment of both girls leaning into each other with large, bright and beaming smiles. “Perfect!” Yu cheered.
“Good… Now can I get changed?” Yu nodded as she stared at the photo with a goofy grin. Ayumu leaned in a left a chaste kiss on Yu’s cheek, “And… Make sure you send me that picture.”
“A-Ah!” Yu quietly yelped as her cheeks turned a deep red. “I-I will! I’ll send it to you after I post it online.”
As Ayumu stepped inside her changing room, Yu opened up her social media and uploaded the selfie, adding the hashtag for the event and finally writing the caption.
“Best Live ever, I love Nijigsaki and I love Ayumu!!!”
