Chapter 1: 1; LITTLE OUT OF THE ODINARY (unusual restraints)

Chapter Text

Warning; kidnapping (by plants)? I'm not sure tell me if I need to add anything

Something wrapped itself around Roman’s leg.

The surprise caused him to freeze for a moment and for that moment the imagination was completely still.

Then whatever it was yanked him off his feet.

He lost his balance completely and the force of the thing that had pulled him meant that he was being dragged across the ground.

The few glances he can manage as he is scraped along every rock and branch is that the thing around his ankle is a vine (which might be vaguely humorous if he had time to think about it).

He summons his sword and quickly finding that he can't reach far enough back, stabs it into the ground to try and slow himself down but it's ripped out of his grip.

The vine isn't taking any care about it and it feels like it is intentionally dragging him over every rock and through every bush it can find.

His hands are scrambling for something to grab a hold of but he's being pulled back too quickly to give him time to grab a hold of anything.

Suddenly everything went dark and the plants and greenery were replaced with even more hard stone.

The plant thing has dragged him into a cave and he stares at the rapidly vanishing mouth as it drags him ever deeper.

He's being pulled upwards and his back slammed against the wall of the cave.  The pain shudders through his back and he screams but the sound is quickly cut off by a vine wrapping around his mouth as more of the blasted things bind him to the wall of the cave.

He is left there, feet off the ground, hanging in the dark.

Virgil hasn’t seen Roman in a while and he's starting to get concerned.

It wasn’t unusual for Princey to be in the imagination for long periods of time but Virgil's Trouble sensor was going off and he is More Worried Than Usual.

The door to the imagination is not in the twins room (although they do have one) but in an unassuming wardrobe in a side passage because Thomas read the lion the witch and the wardrobe as a kid and then spent the rest of his childhood looking for Narnia.

Upon entering the imagination Virgil finds himself in a dense vine covered jungle. For a moment Virgil considered get Remus to help him but dismissed the idea as whatever trouble Roman is in is probably at least partially Remus’s fault.

There's no sign of Roman so Virgil pulls his hood up over his head and starts walking in the direction that looks the most disturbed and starts walking, his feeling that something was wrong worsening with every step.

Virgil pushes back some foliage and comes across a clearing in the trees.

Roman’s sword is stuck into the dirt. He pulls it out (figuring that if something had beaten Roman it would be better to be armed, and anyway Roman would probably want his sword back).

Though the bushes and trees directly behind it is a trail of crushed bushes and ripped branches, like something very heavy had been dragged through there.

The feeling got worse.

Virgil started running.

The trail leads into a cave. A big, ominous cave. Virgil gulps a little, pulls his hands into his sleeves and tightens his grips on Roman’s sword.

The inside of the cave is pitch black. Virgil pulls a torch out of the inside of his coat and shines the light around the walls of the cave.

The walls are completely covered in thick green vines.

The light hits the far back wall.

Roman is hanging from the back wall, feet suspended in the air, completely tangled in the vines, one snaking over his mouth and lower face.

He's also completely unconscious.

Virgil runs forward and starts hacking at the vines with Roman’s sword. He's not nearly as strong as Princey but the vines start to fall away.

as the last of them fall away Roman collapses. He's covered in cuts and bruises but it doesn’t seem to get more dangerous than that. Virgil struggles to catch him but manages to get Roman into a position where he can at least mostly carry Roman out of the cave.

He makes his way back through the jungle, Roman’s massive head bouncing on his shoulder and half dragging him.

Virgil pushes open the doors and stumbles out of the wardrobe though the corridors and into the living room, Roman still dragging behind him.

Upon reaching the living room he drops Roman on the couch, startling Logan, Patton and Janus.

“Roman needs help”

“What happened?”

“Not quite sure, one of Remus’s death traps I think”

“REMUS!”
