Chapter Text
Yuu was more or less delighted to be in class - after all, he was sort of…forced to go to school by his stupid father, Guren. He had wanted to join the military, but because of his ‘rash’ behavior (as in, getting into many arguments/conflicts with others), Guren took it into his own hands to rightfully discipline him by sending him to this annoying, high-maintenance school.
Now, the reasons were quite painfully obvious why he was less than pleased to be attending this boorish class. But why exactly was he sort-of-but-not-really paying attention (okay, fine, he was actually paying close attention) to class instead of completely ignoring the teacher like he always did?
Last week, their original teacher had gotten into labor (she had been pregnant for nine months, and boy, was he glad her mood swings and herself were gone) and was replaced by Mr. Shindo. He had light blonde hair and eyes as blue as the ocean and sky combined.
…And boy, was he attractive. All of the females in class swooned over him, and whenever Mr. Shindo had asked for someone to answer a question, he swore that all of the girls jumped out of their seats to be called on. Yuu could only roll his eyes at the obvious behavior they all showed. If it were him, he’d–
“–ne. Mr. Amane!”
Yuu quickly snapped his head up, his emerald eyes wide and alert as he scanned the room to find the source of the voice. His eyes landed on none other than Mr. Shindo himself.
(Dammit, he thought he was paying close attention to class, but he had just drifted off again…one of his bad habits, that’s for sure.)
“It seems you’ve finally been snapped out of your little daydream,” Mr. Shindo says, an amused smile on his lips (which was strange, because he rarely showed emotions, not even to the females in his class), “Now if you could please read the passage, that would be very helpful.”
Yuu panicked. What page were they even on? The raven-haired male cursed under his breath as he frantically flipped through the pages of his book, hoping someone near him would tell him what page they were–
“Psst. Page 46.”
The voice came from behind him.
Shinoa.
He couldn’t fathom why she of all people would help him out, but he turned to page 46 as instructed of her, desperate to not make a fool of himself in front of the class. But because he was in English, (one of his worst subjects) he’d probably still mess it up anyways.
“Th–there…is…a le..legend that–”
“I don’t believe you are on the correct page, Mr. Amane,” the blond teacher stated, a suggestive gleam in his sapphire eyes, “I want you to meet me after class. You need to start paying more attention.”
Yuu heard Shinoa chuckle from behind him, and he felt the tips of his ears turning red from embarrassment.
Goddammit, Shinoa. (This is why he promised himself never to trust her.)
And so, class went on, but Yuu noticed something peculiar.
Mr. Shindo kept looking over at him, making their eyes meet several times.
Yuu would always be the first to look away, blushing profusely.
And then their eyes would meet again, and–
Wink.
…Did Mikaela Shindo, their very attractive English teacher whom all females (and even some males) swooned over, wink at him?
…
Maybe spending more time with him after class wasn’t that bad of an idea, after all.
(And perhaps he’d start to purposely pretend he wasn’t paying attention, just to see Mr. Shindo after class again.)
