Work Text:
the gunshot was pretty loud , it echoed through the giant room the two were in.
the man looked up at lydia , holding his gunshot wound. lydia dropped her arms to her side and sighed "listen...im an assassin whos mom literally works in hell but...a speech about controlling the masses is a no go." she shook her head , dissapointed. before the man could speak lydia cut him off "i know what youre gonna say! lydia! why wouldnt you just leave! you could have just gone quietly! and i'de say why are you screaming at me im right in front of you!" she stopped her foot for emphasis.
lydia took a breath and looked at her feet for a moment. "thing is...people like you dont slink away quietly. you deny the years of dehumanization...the constant barage of 'if you really loved me youde do this' and all the stupid fuckin expiraments. the strapping me down to a metal slab and almost freezing me to see what i could take. you people you- you ignore my texts cause youre works more important or you cancel date night cause you'd rather go over the data from the last expirament...one that left me shivering and sick for weeks. and the worst part about that is when ya rolled your eyes at me asking you to go get some medicine from the store."
lydia walked around the room as she spoke "after all that- along with the remarks about how i was made to be a weapon- i just....cant let that go. i cant let you exist after that!" she sniffled and wiped her nose , wanting to yell at her eyes to stop watering.
"so you have to die and i should be sorry but im not." she aimed the gun again and shot the man in the head. ending it. "no second date for you." she whispered.
she then sat down , tossing the gun away. she didnt like using guns. they were loud and cold and impersonal. she wiped her hands on her dress wanting the metal feeling to go away. she hugged her knees to her chest as she chewed her lip.
"...i shoulda stayed home with a book..."
