Prompt: “Go away, can’t you see i’m busy?”
...
An exhale as he brought his sword down. His muscles tightness as he instinctively corrected the form. Memories that weren't his own telling him that how he had done it before was incorrect. Damn this curse. He couldn't even learn something normally anymore.
Rand had been annoyed by everything changing. Ever since he found out he was the "Dragon Reborn". Yeah right. There was no way that some farm boy from the Two Rivers could be the Dragon Reborn. There had to be some other explanation. One that made more sense than having Lews Therin in his head.
Trying to talk to the others only gave him an even bigger headache. The girls said essentially the same thing. Listen to Moiraine. She is an Aes Sedai she would know. Bah Aes Sedai. They didn't know everything. If they did he wouldn't be in this situation.
On the other side Matt and Perrin wouldn't even look at him. They were terrified of what they had seen during his fight with the Forsaken. The Forsaken and the Dark One. Though if Moiraine was to be believed that man wasn't the Dark One. He was another of the Forsaken. Which one she couldn't answer him.
Lan wouldn't broach any of these subjects. He forced Rand to focus and ignore all his thoughts. To find the Void. Sometimes Rand felt as if he spent too much time in the void.
As he went through another step of the form a voice that sent shivers down his spine called out, "Bring your elbow further in Lews Therin. You're leaving your side open."
Almost instinctively Rand corrected his position as he was told. This wasn't the first time he had automatically followed such an order. How had he found them? Were they about to be attacked?
Rand swung around to face where the voice had come from. The man who almost constantly invaded his dreams stood leaning against the fence. He still wore the dark silk clothes with a sword belted at his side. Unlike before he did not have fiery eyes. Now they were simply dark and seemed to draw him in.
He snarled, "Go away, can’t you see I’m busy?”
"Don't do that now, Lews Therin," he said calmly as if Rand wasn't prepared to attack him, "I'm not here to hurt you."
Rand's sword tip lowered slightly even as anger bubbled up inside him. He snarled, "Do not call me that. I am not Lews Therin. I am not the Dragon!"
The man sighed, "Don't do that. You will draw the attention of your watchers. Then you won't get answers."
Answers?
"I see that has your attention," said the man with a dark grin, "Yes answers. Now will you listen or will you call your watchers over?"
Rand glanced to where he knew the others were. Not close enough to intrude but if he started shouting they would be close enough to help. At least Moiraine and Lan would be fast enough. Whether or not the others would come he wasn't sure.
Reluctantly he sheathed his sword and demanded coldly, "Alright talk."
The man considered him for a moment before he asked, "What do you know of the Prophecies?"
"What do you mean?"
A sigh escaped the man and he ordered, "Sit we will be here for awhile."
And they were. Rand felt untold anger towards Moiraine. It made him want to ran and get away from the Aes Sedai. By the smirk on the man's face he knew exactly what Rand was thinking.
Then his smirk turned into a frown, "I was supposed to have more time," Rand turned his head to see Lan making his way towards the practice yard, "Time to go."
"Wait I want more answers," protested Rand.
The smirk returned, "Not this time Lews Therin. We will meet again."
And like that he was gone leaving a frustrated Rand in the sands.
