Day 1: "This wasn't supposed to happen"

Chapter 1: Shattered Crystal

Chapter Text

The clock ticked softly, beautifully designed with two intricately designed black turbofoxes on the bottom of it looking ahead, eyes seemingly focused on the opposite wall. I had brought Cometstorm so much happiness ever since Viper had given it to her, a reminder of his pure love for her with all the flaws she had. Tonight though it just was another reminder that her conjunx was gone forever just here she still was with her trine once again the only ones who truly knew her.

He shouldn’t have even been there but Viper had wanted to surprise her at the docks with a bouquet of the most beautiful crystals he could afford. The warnings of thow dangerous the docks could be with the “treacherous” ideas they’d been helping spread doing nothing to dissuade him. Of course he didn’t listen, he always knew the risks of everything he did but he had always believed that letting fear get to you was what doomed you. He wanted to make it so no one felt that they had to hide in the darkness. At least he hadn’t joined the allspark without putting up a fight; the shattered bouquet and the sheer amount of enough on the platform made that clear enough.

As the clock ticked on Cometstorm realize that she was late for lunch with her trine. She knew Starblaze and Solarstrike would forgive her for being late yet she couldn’t help from feeling bad about it as she rushed off.

“Sorry, I’m late,” Cometstorm said, sitting down trying to seem happy though her wings were obviously dropping.

“No problem,” Solarstrike said smiling, “I ordered you that copper cake you really like.”

“What happened wasn’t your fault just as much as it wasn’t his. Guilt will get you nowhere I know that’s rich coming from me but please listen. We don’t blame you either, we'll stay by you till the very end,” Starblaze said after trying to cheer Cometstorm despite not being good at it.

“Thank you,” Cometstorm said softly.
