"This was a mistake"
"What gave you that impression? Was it the spill on your suit or the Karen that decided to harass us?"
Date night had not gone as planned for the two gentlemen. A night planned to be filled with romance and sweet acts so love-filled it would make a child gag had now turned more into a nightmare straight out of those stories where a first date does not go as planned.
The night started rough with traffic then derailed into getting denied the clear seat on the roof that was revered for them. It led to being crammed in a corner booth with barely any room and a stink eye out of an old crow who finally had enough when a kiss was placed on the other hand.
To top it off the steak he ordered had come cold and bloody (not his personal favorite), and the waiter who was so clumsy that the tea his lover ordered was spilled upon the nice white suit the other had worn that down was permanently dyed light brown. To summarize, the night was a complete mess, not to mention both men seemed to be upset that the date did not go as planned, in fact, worse.
"Tch, Very funny. Just. Get in the car and drive me back to my house"
The shorter man snapped, gripping his suit jacket to avoid looking at the horrid stain that now covered much of his suit.
"Sure.. sure"
His low voice hummed, digging down into his pocket and fishing out the metal ring that matched his car. Once it was out the car clicked open, signaling the two to hop in. By now it was late, the night leaving no mercy tonight upon the two by denying moonlight, leaving only the car's soft sign lights to give some kind of sight. The restaurant's parking lot was half empty with people leaving from their date nights, there's being a lot more fun and loving than the couples now. It was silent in the car, the two men sharing the same feeling of frustration and tension from the actions that night but one had a feeling of hope that all hasn't gone to shit.
He had hoped to settle with his lover tonight for a place to lay rest and watch a documentary about sciences future within their world while cuddling and perhaps more if the other was up to it. It could be a good way to destress after all. He wasted no time pressing the key into the car's ignition and twisting its metal, however, the sound it made had both of the men pause their thoughts.
"... It's dead?! You can't be serious"
With a few more attempts at pressing the car keys, the worse was confirmed by both of them.
"Great. Fucking great"
"Hey relax, we can look at it and fix it up. Worse comes to worst we can call someone"
"Ah great, we can sit here wasting away until then"
"It's better than nothing babe, look at the positives"
"Positives?! Positives of what?! This night? This night has had no sides whatsoever! This night could not have gone worse-"
The man's sentence was paused by the sounds of the sky's grumbling and soon enough the sky's tears started to shower the couple's dead car.
This only resulted in the man leaning against the car's door and bringing his hand up to pinch his nose, finding it hard to not just get out and walk home.
"Of course" he grumbled, his voice laced with such distaste and venom that it made his boyfriend flinch.
Tonight had just not been their night. Regret was the first thing that came to his mind, regret and pain shot into his heart. When he asked him out tonight he wanted something meaningful, special to say the least. What other couples looked for when going to eat dinner with their loves. A feeling of romance and passion that would only be shared with them and them. Tonight sadly had not been the night for that. He wanted to spoil him just a little for working so hard at the lab, while he just lazed about and kept their home safe. He wished he could reduce this night, go back in the past and tell his past self to stay inside or avoid going at all but sadly he was so superhuman.
"I'm sorry... I didn't want this night to go like this"
He stated, his hand finding its way up to his neck to rub the kink that was currently forming.
"I wanted something more... Romantic more... Fun"
"Well clearly that didn't go out as planned"
Yea it didn't. How life could be so cruel and bless such a night upon them? It made him grimace, and glare at the window of the car in hopes of any sign to make this better yet all he was met with was rain.
He paused his thoughts, staring at the droplets that painted his car.
It was raining...
"Haru..?"
"What Touya."
"Would you...care for a dance?"
The question made the other turn his head, his annoyance shaded with slight confusion.
"Dance? In this weather?"
"Yes"
"Your stupid, we will get sick and I am not looking forward to missing work because we decided to look like fools dancing in the water."
"Come on babe. Wouldn't it be romantic~?" He purred, leaning slightly to the other who leaned away with disagreement. It didn't seem to stop the other however when the diver's door was opened and Touya stepped out to retrieve his lover once more.
Chrono had tried to call to him and drill it into his head that this was an idiotic idea and that the action would lead to the worst night imaginable but yet it did not stop the other from opening his door and dragging him out, both now being showered within earth's glory.
Touya grinned at him while Chrono glared, the droplets of water already taking a toll on the other tied-up hair.
"Your trying to get broken up with aren't you"
"No of course not, but I can never stop myself from pushing the limits" he chuckled lowly, watching as the rain pressed down onto his lover's hair, its loose ponytail now coming apart to reveal the stunning sight of his future husband.
And God he was stunning.
"You're... So beautiful" he praised, his hand climbing up the other body to press away the stray rain droplets that dared to try and sneak their way into the other eye.
"Tch. And your a mess" Chrono joked, watching the man's once gel-slicked hair become a bird's nest in seconds of being out in the elements.
"For you baby~"
"Shut up"
Chrono scoffed, pressing his hand into the other face who laughed at the reaction he had gotten.
But soon his laughter stopped and instead of muffling laughter, the mouth was used to press a kiss upon the pale skin that muted it.
"But in all honesty. You are stunning baby"
The sentence had gotten a blush from the other, its shades of red painting the other cheeks.
"You're too much"
"You can't get enough baby"
Touya gripped the hand and pulled its owner towards him, allowing their bodies to press together in a position of dance.
With the look Touya gave Chrono, it seemed like this was what the other wanted to give him as an apology so he settled, positioning himself in his lover's hands to share this moment with him.
It started slow, most of the movements being delayed by Chrono's wrong footing. The movement itself had paused when Chrono had pressed some sudden unwanted pressure on Touya's foot, causing him to stumble.
"I-m sorry. We should stop-"
"Hey.." Touya disrupted, firmly gripping the other's waist so he could not move.
"You ok. Just down then to the right then clockwise"
"Down... Right... Clockwise" the other repeated, seeming to map
The movements in his head.
"Good boy" Touya praised, not giving the dark blush that grew on Chronos's face time to settle before they were dancing once more, the rain making the scene much more dramatic than it already was.
The dance was smooth now, Chrono focused on following its pattern and Touya too caught up on how cute he looked when concentrated.
He could see the gears turning in his head as he tried to nail the dance and from how their bodies moved together, he was doing a fine job at it.
"Just like that princess", he praised, loving the soft huff he got with the nickname.
"Thanks.." He could hear the other mumble, taking his time to follow the movements only to have them ruined once Touya decided to switch things up.
"What are you doing?!"
"Spicing things up~" his answer was once he took the lead once more, pressing Chrono out to extend their arms before reeling him back in.
The actions continued with a few bows, some fancy turns, and to place the bow on top, a dip.
It was breathless, romantic, and unreal. The two stayed in the bow position for a long time, Touya too awestruck to end it. The shadow that was cast upon Chrono had shown him the beauty of slightly ruined eyeliner. The rain had revealed the stunning image of Chrono's hair down and wet and finally, the blush had introduced him to a world of looks, this one being so gorgeous it made his heart skip a beat.
"Touya..?"
He heard him say his name yet he couldn't answer and if both of them were, to be honest at the moment? Neither of them wanted to end this moment with dialogue.
The two pressed together to share a soft kiss to end the dance, its movements were slow and their lips moved with ease.
The two knew the mood of this kiss and followed it with ease. Care and love filled the twos body and finally felt a sense of peace go through them. After a few minutes of this soft moment shared between them, they both had pulled away and settled back on their feet.
"W-well. Thank you.."
"Heh. It's the least I can do"
The sound of rain had drowned the white noise that settled between them as they took this time to rebound.
"So... Wanna call and head home so we can watch a movie, order pizza, and sleep?"
"Perhaps not pizza... Maybe some sushi...but your paying"
This brought a laugh out of Touya, once again dragging Chrono in for a sweet kiss before he settled with holding the other in his arms.
"Alright, movie night it is~"
