Work Text:

In the distance, the sound of a voice painfully familiar echoed in the distance.

Ah, he was pretty sure he had an idea of who that could be. He grinned slightly, ignoring the light headache. All six of them had been planning on having an awesome day at the park's amusement rides, but all of a sudden he get's a little sick one time and now they want him to, ‘rest’ and, ‘ stay here.

Jonesey had said he’d get something for him before he left, and the idea of the surprise sounded nice, so here he was. Half asleep on the chairs his friends had so graciously lined up for him before they left.

“Jude, my dude!” Jonesey instantly began to fiddle with the brown paper bag he was holding, nearly dropping it on the ground in the process. He was clearly having trouble getting whatever contents were inside the bag out of it.

Eventually, after much over-dramatic struggle, he’d succeeded in his goal and pulled out the plastic container in victory. “I made you some soup!” He hummed slightly, “ No , I bought you some soup.” Ah that was a relief, he wasn’t too sure Jonesey could cook.

Jude grinned slightly, pushing himself up from where he’d laid himself upon multiple of the big-squeezes chairs. Grasping onto the table slightly in an attempt to try and pull himself up.

Jonesey seeing this attempt of his friend attempting to move closer to him, quickly interrupted. “No, no, no. Don’t stand up, just stay on over there and I’ll uh-...” During this frantic attempt and explanation, he’d been slowly moving backwards as he spoke.

He’d tried pushing the contents towards Jude, clearly attempting to give it to him without getting closer to the other. The other who seemed to notice.

“Dude, are you for real right now?” He whined as he began to rab his eyes slightly. “I’m not gonna infect you.” He reminded as he continued to watch his friend's pretty pathetic attempts on passing him the food.

“Hey, It’s not my fault you’re sick, I don’t wanna catch that!” The teen surrendered, he’d seemed to slightly stop his attempts on giving his friend the food now, seeming to realize there wouldn’t be an easy way to give it to him without getting near.

“C'mon, man. It’s not even that bad!” He lied, before he could continue to defend his health, he was cut off again. Weird, that seemed to be happening a lot today.

“That’s what they all say .” He was speaking as if he’d been betrayed like this a thousand times. “This is just like the time Caitlin said she’d be fine on the Vomit Comet.” He shuddered slightly from the memory. He and Wyatt were sure to always sit at the very front since that incident.

“Listen, Dude. I’m telling you. It’s totally just allergies or something, I’ll be fine going to the amusement park, promise. ”

“Ha! Ha, still funny even when you’re sick, Jude. Good joke, great joke! But I will see you when you’re not sick. And if I hear from Nikki or Jen that you’ve like- Escaped or something, I’m not gonna chase you but I’ll be disappointed.”

Out of everyone, Jonesey being disappointed in someone? Now that was kind of crazy, and Jude didn’t want that.

“Now- Just, eat your stupid soup and get better so we can hang out again, okay?”

“Thanks, dude.” Jude called out as he watched the other spring off into the distance, the same speed as which he’d arrived.

As he began to eat the still warm soup, he was glad that someone managed to care about him.
