“T’ick o’ t’eat!”
You smiled lovingly as you watched your daughter hold her candy bag out, knowing she had the cutest little grin on her face as the old lady put some candy in the bag. “My, what a lovely smile! And what are you dressed as?” The woman asked, and you saw your daughter nearly vibrating.
“I’m a shooting sta’!” She proudly exclaimed, pointing the toy gun she held in her left hand at a pumpkin on the lady’s porch. “Pew! Pew!” The girl’s antics caused the woman to laugh and add an extra candy to the bag as more kids walked up the path to her porch.
“Come on, little Star. We’ve got a lot more houses to go.” Moon called to her from where he and you were standing on the sidewalk, and the girl immediately turned and jumped down the steps.
“Coming papa!” She responded, but paused halfway down the path to turn and wave at the lady. “Thank you!”
You freed Moon and his brother Sun from Fazbear Entertainment over a year ago, married them 6 months ago, and adopted your daughter Stella 2 months ago. Tonight was Halloween, and you and your husbands had decided to take your daughter trick or treating. Sun was the one fronting when you started the adventure, but when the sun went down, Moon came out.
Stella bounded over to you, the little star boppers on her head bouncing around merrily with every enthusiastic step she took. The sparkly yellow tutu she wore dropped glitter as she went, covering her yellow shoes and tights with the horrible craft material. You were so making Sun clean that up. It was his idea in the first place.
Moon reached out his hand to Stella and she grabbed his index finger, her tiny hand wrapping around the large digit. He hummed happily and started walking towards the next house, making sure his steps were small so Stella’s tiny legs could keep up.
At the next house he gently nudged the girl forward, and she took off up the path, only to stop halfway and fall onto her butt with a scream.
“Stella!” You dropped your hold on Moon’s hand, rushing towards your precious little girl. You knelt on the ground next to her, checking her over for any injuries as she cried. “Honey, what happened?” You asked, brushing a golden curl out of her face, tucking it behind the headband where it belonged.
Stella latched onto your shirt and pointed at something in the yard, hiccuping and sniffling. Moon came up the path behind you as you turned to see what Stella was pointing at, and immediately found what it was.
As Moon stepped close a motion triggered skeleton popped up from behind a foam gravestone, letting out a shriek as it chattered its teeth. Stella’s hands tightened at the sound, and you picked her up, setting her on your hip so she didn’t look at the stupid decoration. “Don’t worry sweetheart, it can’t hurt you. Come on, let’s go get your candy.”
You walked up to the house, climbing the three steps to ring the doorbell. As the door opened you prompted the now calmer Stela to talk. She sniffled and held out her bag that she had miraculously still been holding. “T-T’ick o’ T’eat.” Her voice was small and soft, and the man at the door looked a little confused as he put some candy in the outstretched bag.
“One of your decorations scared her. Now, what do we say to the nice man?” You bounced the little girl on your hip, watching the boppers bounce.
“Th-Thank you…” She mumbled, rubbing at her eyes with the back of her now empty hand. The man smiled apologetically, slipping three more candies into the bag.
“The skeleton one? She’s not the first one to get spooked by it, I’m probably going to take it down here in a minute. You’re welcome kiddo, Happy Halloween!”
You walked off the porch, walking back to where Moon was now standing on the sidewalk, idly spinning the toy gun on his finger. He smiled when he saw you approach, and as you stopped next to him he leaned down to give Stella a kiss on the head. “You okay, little Star?” He asked, brushing away a few stray tears that lingered on her face before wiping snot off her face with a baby wipe he produced out of nowhere. She nodded, sniffling before reaching for the toy.
Moon chuckled, looking up at you with a smile before looking back down, handing the girl her prop with a silly flourish. “Can’t be a shooting star without this, can you?” He asked, his antics eliciting a giggle from Stella as she took the gun and pointed it at a tree on the other side of the road, well above anyone’s heads.
“Pew! Pew-pew!” She pretended to shoot at some invisible threat before wiggling in your arms, letting you know she wanted down. You set her down with a soft chuckle, and she grabbed your hand as she started walking down the sidewalk.
The last three houses on the block weren’t handing out candy, and just as you crossed the street you heard a gasp from the left, and then the pattering of little feet running down the sidewalk. “Momma! Momma look! It’s Mister Moon!!” A little boy yelled excitedly as he came to a stop in front of the threefour of you, another boy directly behind him.
You couldn’t help but grin at the costumes the boys were wearing; they were almost perfect replicas of the outfits Sun and Moon used to wear, the silly curled shoes and all, the kid’s faces painted to look somewhat similar to the former daycare attendant’s. Glancing at Moon, you saw he had the same reaction, grinning ear to ear as he admired the boy dressed as himself. “Boys, calm down- oh! Goodness, Hello Mister Moon!” The mother, a tired looking woman in her probably early thirties, arrived where you were all standing, a shocked smile on her face upon seeing the 9ft animatronic.
“Good evening Mrs. Dawson, Andrew, Richie. Happy Halloween.” Moon said as he nodded in greeting. The boys seemed to vibrate in excitement, the one dressed as Sun bouncing up and down, the bells on his costume jingling rather aggressively.
“Mister Moon, lookit!! I’m dressed as Mister Sun, and Andrew is you!! Do you like our costumes? Do ya?!” The boy spoke rapidly, and you bit back a laugh, the thought of him being pretty much a mini version of Sun crossing your mind. Moon nodded, looking between the two boys.
“I do like them. Did your mother make them?” He asked as he crouched down, the soft red glow of his eyes reflecting in the kids’ eyes. Andrew, the boy dressed as Moon, nodded with a grin of his own.
“Mhm!! And our big sister Amelia did our facepaint! Isn’t it so cool?!” Andrew was louder than his brother Richie, and it made Stella a bit nervous as she squeezed your hand. Moon’s sensors alerted him to his daughter’s anxiety, so he nodded before taking his nightcap off and pretending to rummage through it.
The boys watched intently as Moon produced a few candies from his hat; two Sundrops and two Moondrops. “Your costumes are wonderful. Now, don’t tell anyone I gave these to you, alright?” He spoke in a low voice, looking around conspiratorially before sliding one of each candy into the boys’ candy bags. They giggled in delight and nodded, both of them putting a finger to their lips. Moon put his hat back on and gave them a wink before smiling at their mother. “Have a wonderful Halloween, Mrs. Dawson.”
The woman sighed and smiled tiredly at her sons, who were slowly walking away as they chattered. “Thank you, you too. Oh, and to you as well.” She looked at you and your daughter, almost as an afterthought before chasing after her sons. Moon chuckled, shaking his head as he stood.
After hitting about 8 more houses Stella’s feet began to drag, signifying that it was time to go home. Moon picked her up and cradled her in one arm, her candy bag hanging off his elbow as you held his free hand. The moment your daughter was in Moon’s arms she was asleep, leaning her head against his chest as she snored softly.
Your lovely little family unit made your way back to your car, and you started the vehicle while Moon carefully put his precious little Star in her carseat, setting her bag of goodies on the seat next to her before climbing into the front passenger seat, having to contort a little in order to fit. You giggled, the sight never ceasing to make you laugh as you head home.
Moon gets Stella out of the car and carries her inside, switching with Sun the moment they stepped through the front door. Sun smiled fondly at the tiny form sleeping in his arms before carrying her to her room. He got her changed into jammies and tucked her in, kissing her softly on the forehead before leaving, making sure her little star shaped nightlight was on.
He joined you on the couch, where you spent the rest of the night cuddling and watching scary movies, alternating between having the lights on and off so you could enjoy time with both of your wonderful husbands.
The End.
