Work Text:
Was this how he suppose to die? Dying by the roadside, watching the stars as if they were going to save him from this tragic end. Of course, that’s how someone like he should end their short lived lives. That’s how a good for nothing, rude and inconsiderate person like him should end because if he was only human then this was a fitting end. He broke Oikawa’s heart. It was his fault and his mistake. He had said something stupid and cruel that the couldn’t take back. If he could turn back time he would but that he knows will never happen.
He coughs once, then another and again. He coughs harder hoping it would dislodge the rest of the blood already clogging his throat and lungs. He feels the blood pool from his lips, the warm liquid rushing down joining up with the pool of blood that’s against his back. He should have worn a jacket, it’s starting to get cold. He coughs another time causing him to buckle forward, blood spraying across his hand, mixing with his last meal. He looks at it and coughs and coughs and more blood spills out, turning his hand red.
For the last time, Iwaizumi looks further up, looking at the night sky as it winked and shined above him. His eyes loosing its vision from the tears that forced its way upwards. He chocks in his own blood as he tried crying or laughing at the thought. Blood dribbles down the corners of his mouth, staining his face with tears and blood. He wondered as the blood slowly was being drained from his body of how Oikawa would feel. Would he feel happy? Would he cry? Would he even care? Iwaizumi didn’t know, he just let it flood out, to let the blood pool from all parts of his body never knowing how Oikawa truly feels. If he even loved him despite his imperfections. He cries one last time. He took a breath one last time. He looks at the stars one last time.
“You always loved the stars, I hope I could be one so I could shine just as brightly as you. I’m sorry. I love you”
