Chapter Text
The sun was unhappily roasting people in the open air. It was so hot that there were few people outside trying to get to their destination, to hide from the scorching sun.
For this reason, Shirayuki closed all the windows in the flat and turned on the air conditioning, pouring herself some cool water. For several days now, Shirayuki hasn't been able to tell her husband that they will have a baby in nine months. In her many thoughts running through her head, one of which is that Zen knows and if she tells him, he won't be surprised or the outcome won't be good.
Shirayuki as a medic already suspected this, but still she decided to make sure of it by taking the test. The news is only known to Kiki for now, if she hasn't told her husband. However, none of her friends know yet. Last week, Zen along with his brother went to another region of the country on their own business. Today he should be home by tonight.

The front door opens, letting the occupant in. The man looks around, not seeing his omega. Worried, he hurried into the living room. When he didn't see her, he hurried to the bedroom as he heard a noise from the bathroom. A few seconds later, a girl came out of there, frozen in the doorway.
-I'm home. - smiling, he spread his arms out to his sides, watching her. At first Shirayuki didn't understand, but then she almost jumped on top of him, inhaling the scent of her alpha. - I missed you. - kissing her forehead, Zen stroked her head, smiling broadly.
-When did you get here? - Shirayuki led him into the kitchen, where dinner was already set on the table.
-Just now. I was so scared when you didn't meet me. - grinning, Zen kissed her cheek and hugged her. - Are you still nauseous?
-Yeah, a little bit. - Shirayuki smiled softly. - Speaking of which, what do you think, why have I been throwing up the last few days?
-Were you poisoned? - said that, Zen looked at his wife in puzzlement, who laughed for some reason.
-Wrong. - Shirayuki fixed her strand, trying to hide her smile.
-Then... Do you have worms?
-Zen!
-What?
-In fact, we're going to have an addition. - at first, Zen didn't know what she meant, because that's what she said once when she bought the fish, and Zen thought at that time they were having a baby, so he expected the missus to pull out some kind of pet.
-And they're not animals. - Shirayuki added, as if she could read her husband's mind, and then it dawned on Zen.
-Wait, are you serious? - with a nod, Zen took Shirayuki's hand, stroking it. - How long have you been keeping this from me?
-A week or so, maybe less. - Shirayuki bit her lip, expecting anything from the alpha.
-I'm really glad it's only a pregnancy. - Zen exhaled in relief, intertwining the fingers of their hands.

It's been raining for a few days now, with just a little rain, or a terrible downpour for a few hours. It's the kind of weather where you don't want to go outdoors, rather sit at home or in the flat under a warm blanket with a cup of fragrant tea. So Shirayuki did, sitting in the living room, wrapped up in a big warm blanket, watching TV.
Shirayuki was still working, but the headmistress was giving her less work. Today was her day off, so she was alone in the flat in the morning. Zen left early, so omega didn't see him, but she saw a glass with liquid inside, and there was a small note next to it.
"This is for you. I wanted to make you happy with the food, but I was afraid I'd burn down the kitchen... Or worse, poison you, you know I'm not very good at cooking, but I promise I'll someday make you something delicious. Have a good day.
Zen."
Shirayuki smiled as she looked at the glass. She knew perfectly well how much Zen was 'good' at cooking and she had even tasted his creation when they were students and, to be honest, it wasn't too bad. Honestly, he had some help then from Mitsuhide, but Shirayuki didn't need to know that.
The weather created such an atmosphere that it was lazy to do anything, but Shirayuki decided not to waste her time and decided to do the paperwork she'd brought from work. After making herself a cup of tea, Shirayuki brought the papers into the living room and got to work.
