“Alright gang I’m sorry to cut the party short but we already have another case” D watched as the rest of the gang sighed with annoyance.

“Oh come on D can’t we catch a break” Lucy groaned out “ after all we have a lot to celebrate what with sue deciding to stay instead of abandon us”

Lucy sent a happy smile towards sue who smiled back

“Oh believe me if this could wait it would but unfortunately it’s serious and needs are full attention now so let’s head back to our office”

With that said they all walked out

Lucy jogged to catch up with sue

“So what did jack say to you outside?”

“All that he said was that he was going to miss me. Which reminds me why didn’t you tell jack that I had decided to stay?” Lucy gave sue an innocent smile

“What and spoil the surprise I think not”

They both entered the room and found everyone else seated ready to hear more about their next case.

“Ok” D started “this morning a 23 year old women was reported missing by her husband. There are no witnesses and we have not found a body yet”

“Her husband says her name was Lizzie Forrest and she was a doctor at the local hospital” tara explained “I did a background check and found she has no criminal record”

“You know it might be a good idea to check on mr Forrest so we can get more information” jack suggested.

D nodded “good idea you and sue should go right now while the rest of us try to find more information”

Jack and sue nodded and headed out

“So can you tell us when was the last time you had contact with your wife?” Jack asked.

Mr Forrest thought for a moment “last night at around 7pm. She usually works the night shift at the hospital so I said goodbye and she left”

Sue listened carefully “And you didn’t have any contact with her after that?”

“No”

“You were the one who reported your wife as missing in the morning”

“Yes she is normally home by 8 in the morning but she never came. I tried ringing her phone only to realise she had left it at home”

“Did you contact the hospital to check and see if she was at work?” Jack questioned.

“Yes that’s one if the first things I did. The person at the desk said she was at the hospital completing her shift as normal and she left work at 7:30am meaning she should have been home”

“Do you think we could have the name of the person you spoke to when you called the hospital? ”

“Of course her names Helen Chance she was one of Lizzie’s closets friends”

“Was?” Sue asked

“Yeah they had a small disagreement a little while ago but Lizzie didn’t talk about it much. They were really good friends so it’s most likely that issue has been solved”

Sue and jack exchanged looks

“Do you think we could have your wife’s phone. You said she left it here last night” jack asked.

“Yeah let me just get it”

A few minutes later mr Forrest returned with the phone and handed it to jack.

“Please promise you will do everything you can to find my wife” Mr Forrest looked at them with pleading eyes.

“We will do our best” sue told mr Forrest and then they left.

Chapter Text

“So what do we do know” sue asked jack as they walked back to the car

“I’ll give the phone to Tara and see if she can access anything on it that could be useful to us. In the meantime we better check out the hospital that Lizzie worked in”

Sue nodded with a small smile

(At the hospital)

Sue and jack walked towards the front desk.

“Hello there my names jack Hudson and this is sue Thomas we work for the F.B.I. Where hoping to speak with Helen Chance do you by any chance no where she is”

“Well she normally covers the night shift so she isn’t in now. She’s probably at home” the lady at the desk said.

“Do you think you can give us her address. It’s important” sue asked.

“Of course it’s somewhere here in our records let me just go and get it”

The lady returned with the address and gave it to sue.

“If you don’t mind me asking why are the F.B.I looking for Helen?”

“We just wanted to ask her a few questions” sue explained.

“Do you know a woman named Lizzie Forrest. She works here right.” Jack asked.

“Yes she does but I don’t know her very well. I have only met her a few times because I usually cover the day shift and she covers the night. She’s very sweet though and I know she’s very close to Helen. I see them together a lot”

Sue nodded “well thanks for the address”

“Your welcome”

With that said sue and jack were off.

(At sues home)

“Wow your looking all dressed up” Lucy admired as she walked into their apartment “what’s the occasion”

“David and I are heading out for dinner tonight” sue replied as she picked up her purse.

“Ooo sounds lovely. Well you better make sure you give me all the details when you come back”

“I will”

(At the restaurant)

“You know it’s lovely that we’re able to sit down and have a meal. I feel like we’re always so busy what with your job and mine” David commented.

“Yes your right. This is nice”

“So what’s new with the F.B.I?”

“Everything is going good. We’re currently working on a new case. Sorry I can’t give anymore information”

“No no that’s alright I understand. Well I know that with you working on the case it’s bound to get solved soon”

Sue smiled at the compliment

“So how is-“

David was interrupted by sues phone vibrating in her pocket.

“I’ll just take this” sue told David.

“Hello”

“Hi sue its jack”

“Hi jack what’s going on”

“Are you busy tonight because we have a new development in the case and we need you in the office as soon as possible”

“Well actually I was-“

“They’ve found a body”

As soon as she read those words she knew this was serious

“Ok jack I’ll be there as soon as possible”

Sue ended the call and turned back to David

“I’m really sorry David but I really have to go. It’s work”

Sue saw disappointment flash through his eyes and she instantly felt guilty for having to end there date

“It’s ok sue I know it must be urgent. Why don’t I drop you there”

Sue gave a small smile and nodded.

Chapter Text

(At the F.B.I)

“Well well well this has got to be the second time sue has walked in wearing a dress. what an honour” myles stated sarcastically as sue entered.

“What did you expect I was out with David and when jack called telling me to get here as fast as I could, I didn’t have time to change”

“Well this meeting Is urgent so I’m glad you were able to come” jack said smiling at sue.

“So you said that they found a body?” Sue asked.

“Yes they did an hour ago. They found the body abandoned in the woods not to far from here. It took a while but they did eventually confirm that the body belonged to Lizzie Forrest” jack explained.

“They searched the area but they didn’t find a murder weapon. It also appears that Lizzie was killed somewhere else because there was no blood around the area where the body was found” D added.

“Do we have any clues as to who might have killed her” Bobby asked.

“No however there was a note found near the body which we presume is from the killer” said jack.

“What did it say”

“It said ‘There’s more where that came from’” jack replied.

“So I’m guessing this killing is not just a one time thing” Lucy said.

D nodded “Yes that’s what we suspect”

“Hey guys” Tara waved her hands to get everyone’s attention “I just hacked into the phone jack and sue gave and I’ve found some things that might be of interest”

“What did you find” jack asked.

“At around 9pm Lizzie received some texts and it said things like ‘love you’ and ‘can’t wait to see you’”

“Well they could be from her husband he did say he was trying to contact her before realising she left her phone at home” sue said.

“Well that’s the thing I looked at who sent those texts and they didn’t come from her husband”

“So Lizzie Forrest was not as innocent as we thought” Bobby commented.

“Tara do you think you could find out who sent those texts to Lizzie” jack asked.

“Sure”

“I wonder if Lizzie’s husband knew about what was going on behind his back” sue said.

“Well I think that’s the first thing we should find out” jack replied
