Chapter Text
It wasn’t supposed to go this way.
Tommy was just trying to be a rebellious teenager by smoking a little bit of weed that he had been given by a friend.
He was going to get high, read a book and go to sleep, just a little secret ‘Fuck You’ to his brother Dream.
But no, it just had to be tonight that some fucking half dead villain lands on his roof (that he was peacefully sitting on might I add) and passes out.
He knew he didn’t have an obligation to help the guy but his brother was out and he wasn’t gonna call the cops because he stunk of the devil’s lettuce!
So he reluctantly dragged the injured villain through his window and into his room.
This guy was lucky as hell apparently, because all of the big ass gashes in his stomach were shallow, so nothing was punctured.
He quickly grabbed a bit of super glue (he knows it’s not the best option but it’s all he has,) some hydrogen peroxide, a few rolls of paper towels, and a few rolls of bandages that he stole from his brother’s stash.
He stopped the bleeding with the towels, cleaned the wounds with the damp washcloth that he snagged while in the bathroom, disinfected them to the best of his ability, and then super glued the ones that wouldn’t stay closed on their own or were too long to leave alone. Then finally, he wrapped the guy up as best he could.
Unfortunately for Tommy, he hadn’t been paying too much attention to how much he was smoking and by the time he was done fixing the guy up he was on Neptune.
He thanked every god that was out there that it had some kind of delayed effect.
He sat down for a while before cleaning up as best he could. He lit some more incense and laid the villain on his spare mattress with a pillow and blanket.
He hadn’t done this before because he didn’t want the mattress stained.
He finally was able to relax for a moment before an overwhelming feeling of dry filled his mouth and sinuses.
So he stood up and trudged his way down to the kitchen, he grabbed two water bottles, one for him, and one for the guy that landed on his roof.
He also grabbed some deli meats and cheese, making two sandwiches. Again, for him and the stranger.
He knew the guy was a dangerous villain but he honestly didn’t remember the guy’s name or power so he was just fine with calling him roof guy at this point.
On his way back up to his room he grabbed a bottle of his brother’s heavy duty pain killers, if roof guy woke up he would definitely want some pain killers.
He walked into his room and immediately went over to the desk, setting all of the shit he had collected down.
He grabbed one of the bottles and felt like he was trying to drown himself with how much he was drinking.
“Geez Phil drink your water somewhere else.” Tommy heard a voice grumble.
He froze.
He stopped drinking his water and looked over at the villain.
“Uh, hate to break it to you bud, but I’m not Phil.” He said cautiously.
The villain shifted suddenly, opening his eyes to actually look at his surroundings.
“Who are you?” Roof guy asked with a new look of fury in his eyes.
“I’m Tommy, nice to meet you Roof guy.” Tommy said with a half dopey smile, his sense of humor was wrecked when he was high.
“Excuse me?” The villain said with more anger in his glare.
“Where the hell am I? What happened?” Roof guy questioned suddenly.
“Geez dude chill out, you got injured and landed on my roof while I was trying to do some teenage rebellion and so I dragged you inside and patched you up, there’s even some pain killers right here for you.” Tommy held out the bottle he had nabbed earlier.
The man looked skeptical and looked over he bottle, it was a brand new one, Tommy knew the guy wouldn’t take any pill that was in an open container.
“There is also a bottle of water and a sandwich if you decide to be nice and not threaten me too much after I did all that work cleaning you up.” Tommy said with a small bit of bitterness in his voice.
“You do know who I am right?” Roof guy asked.
“I know you’re a villain, I’m gonna be honest though I am too high to remember your name or power so I’ve been referring to you as roof guy.” Tommy shrugged.
“Why haven’t you called the cops? Or told your parents?” Roof guy questioned even more.
“Dude, okay first of all, I don’t have parents, and I hate my brother, second of all, can’t you smell me? I reek of weed, no way am I gonna call the cops, especially with who my brother is.” He said with a small scowl.
“Who’s your brother?” Roof guy pushed.
“If I tell you, you might actually just kill me right now, I’m not exactly ready to die yet so..” Tommy used his hands to try and accentuate what he was saying.
Roof guy finally shut up and Tommy wordlessly handed him the bottle of water and the sandwich, he picked up his own matching one and munched away happily.
“Blood God. I’m the Blood God.” Roof guy spoke up after taking the recommended dose for someone his size.
“Oh shit! That’s cool, I’ve got one of the top three most dangerous villains laying on my spare mattress, this definitely won’t go wrong for me.” Tommy joked in reply.
He received a small chuckle in response.
“You are a strange kid.” The Blood God said with a fond shake of his head.
“Well the drugs kind of make me more chill, I’m usually a lot louder and annoying honestly.” Tommy said matter-of-factly.
Blood God stared at him for a moment before going back to his sandwich.
It hadn’t registered until now that the guy was just kind of.. Shoving the sandwich under his mask so he could eat it.
“Oh shoot dude, hold on, I can like- turn around or some shit, I won’t look, you gotta eat like a person, not a prisoner, damn.” Tommy said as he shifted so his back was entirely turned so he could face the wall.
Blood God made a sound of surprise in the back of his throat.
“Why are you doing this? What do you gain?” He asks suddenly.
“First off I’m getting back at my brother by being a petty teen, secondly I don’t get the cops called cause the number two villain is dead on my roof, and three, no dead guy on my roof.” Tommy lists off quickly.
“You don’t want anything in return?” The man questioned while a soft click came from his direction.
“Nah, the silent ‘Fuck You’ to my brother is enough, even if he never finds out.” Tommy said before munching into his sandwich yet again.
“You really don’t like your brother huh?” Blood God asked with a hint of playfulness.
“Nope, he’s a neglectful asshole that holds his power above others all the damn time, even going as far as to take things from people ‘for the greater good’ or some shit.” Tommy scowled.
Blood God just quietly hummed in acknowledgment.
—
Okay listen, this was not how he expected to spend his night.
First off he was just calmly doing a few rounds of their territory to keep heroes away from their base, when FireCracker showed up with his stupid throwing knives.
He decided to be ruthless today though, as he didn’t heat any of his throwing knives up enough to burn the wounds shut behind them.
So when he escaped and landed on the top of a house, it was no surprise that he lost consciousness and fell down to one of the lower roofs.
He didn’t expect to wake up warm and comfortable but when he did he immediately assumed he was back home.
Hearing someone downing a water bottle and disrupting his sleep he complained at them, immediately believing it was his father Phil.
He was, however, incorrect about this thought. As it turns out he had been dragged inside and patched up by a high teen that was too scared to call the cops.
He was given food and water and some pain meds.
He decided that he was gonna leave the kid alone, as stupid as they were for helping the number two villain.
Turns out the kid didn’t even know who he was! Just knew he was a villain, the kid had even nicknamed him Roof Guy.
So now he was half sitting on a mattress with his mask off eating a sandwich, the kid was sitting on the floor about eight feet away facing the wall because he wanted him to be able to eat his food.
“I gotta light some more incense.” The kid said as a warning.
“No you don’t, it smells like a candle shop in here, you don’t stink as much as you think you do.” He said in response.
“By the way, do you have a phone? I need to call my teammates so they know I’m not dead.” He asked.
“Oh! Yeah I do, want me to go grab it?” ‘Tommy’ asked in return.
“Yes, that would be helpful, thank you.” He said as he refastened his mask.
The kid stood up and went to the desk, grabbing a phone from a charger and walking over to hand it to him.
He took the phone and opened the Phone app since it was already unlocked.
He quickly punched in the numbers and pressed call.
-Who is this?- his father’s voice broke through after the third ring.
“It’s me.” He said simply.
-You’re okay! Oh thank Prime, where are you?-
“In some kid’s house, I just woke up, the kid fixed me up a bit.”
-A kid?-
“Yup, I landed on his roof so he dragged me inside.”
-Did he see your face?-
“I think he’s too high to think about that.”
-High? Some druggie kid found you?-
“No he was doing some ‘teen rebellion’ against his brother, he’s actually pretty okay.”
-What’s the address? I’ll come pick you up.-
“Hey kid, can you tell him the address?” He turned to Tommy, holding out the phone.
“Uh, sure.”
—
“Hello?” He asked into the phone after it had been handed to him.
-Hey mate, I’m the Angel of Death, you apparently saved Blood God?- An older British voice asked.
“Ah, yeah, uh, my address is 123 east 10th st. I would rather you enter through my window since I have neighbors, just go around the corner on the porch roof and my window will be cracked open.” Tommy directed quickly.
-Alright I should be there in about five minutes, flying is pretty fast.- Angel chuckled before hanging up.
“He hung up, said he’d be here in five.” He relayed the information.
Blood God nodded at him before laying back down into the mattress with a heavy sigh.
“Those meds kick in yet?” Tommy asked.
“It’s been ten minutes, they’ll kick in soon if they’re anything like regular meds.” Blood God explained.
“Ah, right, time dilation, forgot that was a thing.” He said as he settled into his own bed.
“You’ve got an awful lot of blankets and pillows, you cold blooded or something?” Blood God joked lightly.
“Nah, just like ‘em, they make me comfy.” Tommy lied.
“Fair enough, Angel’s got a full on nest at our base so I’m not tryna judge.” He clarified.
There was a sudden quiet knock on the window.
“Come in!” Tommy said as he hopped out of bed and went towards the window to help open it a bit more.
Angel’s head popped through and he slowly slipped through the window.
“Hey mate, how are you doing?” He asked softly to his friend.
“I’m doin alright, the meds should kick in in a bit so my pain levels will go down a lot.” Blood God confirmed with a small nod.
Angel turned towards Tommy.
“Thank you for taking care of him, seriously, you didn’t have to yet you did.” Angel said, voice fully of sincerity.
“Well I didn’t really want a dead guy on my roof and it’s kind of illegal for minors to smoke so I couldn’t just call the cops.” Tommy said with a small shrug.
“I can understand that logic, but that doesn’t change the fact that you saved his life, so I think my thanks is earned.” Angel said with a small chuckle.
Tommy helped Angel get the Blood God up carefully and helped get him through the window.
He watched them leave, envy burning through his heart at Angel’s ability to fly whenever he wanted.
He eventually went back into his room and shut the window.
After making sure all of his curtains were shut correctly he finally let his wings out of their bonds, turning off his light and laying down.
Considering he spent most of his ‘teenage rebellion’ fixing up one of the most dangerous villains in his bedroom, he was exhausted.
He curled himself up in his various blankets and pillows, falling asleep quickly.
———
“He was a good kid.” Angel said while helping Blood God into his own bed.
“He sure was, I think he cared about me more than he said though, he didn’t mention it to you but he apparently has a really bad older brother.” Blood God said in response.
“Techno.. don’t tell me you’re getting attached to the kid.” Angel said with a teasing smirk.
“He said it as one of the reasons for helping me! He obviously isn’t treated right.” Techno stated sternly.
“Okay, that is concerning, we’ll keep an eye out for him okay?” Angel reassured him.
“Alright, good, I’m gonna go to sleep now, I’ll talk to you in the morning, Phil.” Techno got himself into a more comfortable position.
“Talk to you tomorrow, mate. Good night.” Phil said as he turned off the light.
“Night, Phil.” Techno responded as Phil closed his door.
