Work Text:

MC was bored. She was looking outside the window, sitting at her desk. The lesson was terrible. She had always hated math.

While looking outside the window, her attention was caught by a person with pink hair running to reach the school.

"Miss MC."

She kept looking at the boy running. He fell, loosing the grip on what he was holding, so that books and papers got all scattered around.

'So stupid'. She thought, watching him get up and massaging the leg he was fallen onto.

"Miss MC!"

The guy took his things in a hurry and entered the school.

"MISS MC!!!"

She moved her head to the classroom. Everyone was looking at her. She jumped up instantly, realising the professor was calling her (after the third time he called).

"Yes! Here!"

The whole class laughed. The professor scolded her for not paying attention. And she felt quite bad, but most of all she felt a deep hate for the guy who was responsible for that situation. And, above all, who the hell dyes their hair pink?

***

During the next days, she looked for him, but she couldn't find him. He had disappeared, vanished. She didn't want to ask around too much: what if she had allucinations? A pink-haired guy? They would have laughed of her for all the semester.

School was boring. And she wasn't the kind of girl everyone wished to talk to. In fact, she had no proper friend there. She studied hard to not disappoint her mama, and maybe that was the reason why no one talked to her.

She also looked so average. With her stupid-brown eyes covered by thick glasses, and her long dark ponytail. All the other girls had started to paint their nails, wear make-up, go out in fancy cafés. No one invited her and she found quite the loss of time to decide how to apply eye-liner in the morning. She preferred to stay in mostly unvisited and safe places: the book corner in her bedroom, the school library, the old unused music hall.

***

One day, she stayed longer than any of her classmates to tidy the class. She preferred to do everything alone.

She left the classroom, and closed the door sighing and closing her eyes.

"Another day is gon..."

She heard footsteps approaching rapidly, and then opened her eyes and saw a flash of pink hair. She felt pressure on her arm and found herself running along the corridor.

"What...?"

She looked at the figure who took her arm and saw him: the pink-haired guy!

"Don't stop, run!"

Now she could hear people screaming and approaching rapidly at their back. She got scared.

"Tell me you know a place where we can hide!"

She glanced at him. He wasn't afraid at all. And was that a little smirk on his face? The pink guy was enjoying all of that, actually!?

"Why must WE hide!?"

She stopped. The guy stopped and looked at her. His expression changed. He pointed a finger to his face and said: "Don't you know who I am?"

She looked angry at him and said: "Yes! The one who made me get scolded the other day and the one who is holding me from going home!"

His purple eyes stayed still in hers for a while. And the he laughed so hard he cried. But the hilarity was interrupted by screams.

"TEOOOO!"

"CAN WE HAVE AN AUTOGRAPH?"

"MAKE A SELFIE WITH ME, PLEASE, TEOOOO!"

So that was his name? Teo? Where they looking for him?

"Please, Miss!" He said nervously. "Tell me you know a place where we can hide. And then I'll make amends for all of this!"

She sighed. "This way."

He took her hand and let hear lead. She blushed a little: his skin was so soft.

They got to the school library. They were sitting behind the last of the shelves, and it was quite dark.

"No one comes here at this time of the day." MC said, whispering. "But don't talk too loud. They could hear us."

He nodded and circled his legs with his arms. "What is this story about you getting scolded?"

She esitated a bit, the answered: "I was distracted by you falling. Saw you the other day. In the schoolyard."

He looked at her with an incredulous look on her face. And then suffocated a laughter. "So it was my fault you were distracted?"

"Yes!" She shouted, but still in a low tone of voice. "And you? Why were you chased like that? What are you, a celebrity or something?"

"Yes." He replied right away, with a serious face.

"What...?"

"I am taking part in a talent show. And I am also quite famous, you know. I can sing, and dance, and I..."

She looked surprised. And then it was her turn to laugh.

He looked disappointed. "Why you laughing?"

"So that's why," she forced herself to stop and pointed to his head, "you have your hair of that strange colour!"

He looked at her while she kept indicating the hair. Then he moved towards her. He put the left arm against the bookshelf, like preventing her for moving. His face was so near to hers.

"Wh-what are you doing...?"

He took off her glasses and put them on the floor. She could still see him but the view all around was blurred. She could see his purple eyes glaring in the semi-darkness. He also let her hair loose: they were long, soft, and perfumed.

"Yes, you're probably right. Mine is nothing compared to yours." He said. They remained like that for interminable seconds.

Then, maybe realising what he had done, he blushed and got awat. He seemed even a bit ashamed. With his right hand he stroke his hair saying: "S-sorry... I..."

He went looking for the glasses, touching all aound them, and he was going to crash on them with his knees.

MC shouted: "Careful, you could step on them...!" And tried to stop him.

Teo lost balance. MC fell too. To protect her from the fall, Teo held her in his arms. And he found himself on top of her.

She opened her mouth to say something, but didn't have the time to do it, because he kissed her.

A soft, gentle, single kiss.

He stood up immediately. "I... I am sorry, don't know what got into me, really... I..." And he ran away.

MC was flastered.

She went out from the library, and walked the corridors.

At te exit, she met the noisy group who was after the guy, now all sad ans silent. A girl asked her: "Hey, did you see Teo, the musical actor?"

MC stopped. She touched her lips, then her long hair. And smiling, she replied: "No, I didn't. I'm sorry."
