Work Text:
Team was four days into their two week break from uni and he was still in his dorm, spending time watching YouTube videos and playing games.
Win had left on Sunday morning, spending his time off with his family. Team was meant to leave to visit his parents on Monday but they'd had a work emergency and wouldn't have time for him. He had said he didn't mind but he was disappointed.
He knew if he told Win, he'd end up leaving his family to keep Team company and he didn't want him to do that. They'd called each other a few times and Team hadn't mentioned anything, pretending that he'd arrived to his parents safely.
Team was just about to open his second bag of lays when his phone lit up, Win FaceTiming him. Team answered it without thinking and they chatted for a few moments before Win went quiet, a confused look on his face.
"Are you wearing my shirt?" Win finally questioned. Team nodded as he stuffed more food in his mouth. "Did you get that from my room?”
Team swallowed, crumpling the empty bag up. "Yeah, I went up earlier to get it. You said I could take one."
"Yeah, that's fine but you went and got it today?” Win asked. Team nodded, confused about the questioning before his eyes widened it realisation.
"Team, are you still at the dorms?"
Team sighed in defeat. There was no getting out of this one. "Maybe."
"What happened? Why aren't you at your parents?” Win asked.
"They had to cancel, some work thing. Didn't have time for me to come home," Team explained.
Win looked at him sympathetically, before he stood up. The phone was placed on the bed, Team staring at the ceiling as he heard movement in the background.
A minute later, Win picked the phone back up before he started walking through the house.
"Where are you going, hia?” Team questioned.
"I'm coming back to the dorms,” Win told him.
"No hia. This is why I didn't tell you. You should stay there with your family."
"I'm coming to get you, Team. I'm not letting you stay there alone for another week," Win said.
"That's not necessary, hia. I really don't think your parents would want me there,” Team said.
Win walked into a room where Team could hear chatting before he looked away from the camera.
"Team couldn't go to his parents so I'm going to pick him up," Win told them.
"Okay honey. Drive carefully, it's getting dark," Win’s mum said.
"I will. We’ll probably be back late so we’ll see you tomorrow.”
Once Win was out of the house and in the car, he turned back to Team. "Get your bag ready, I'll see you in a few hours.”
Team didn't argue back so he just nodded his head, saying goodbye to Win as he hung up. He was nervous to go to Win’s house. He'd only met Win’s parents once when they came to the uni, getting to chat briefly before they had to leave again.
Two hours later, Team heard the click of his door open and he jumped off the bed, pulling Win into a hug the moment the door was shut.
"Hey, you okay?" Win asked, wrapping his arms around Team's waist.
Team nodded into his shoulder. "Thank you for coming to get me."
"Of course," Win smiled, placing a kiss on the side of his head.
Win’s house was dark and quiet by the time they got back. Win took Team's bag in one hand, linking their fingers with the other as he led them to his room.
They took a quick shower together before changing into some comfy clothes, snuggling together in the middle of Win’s big bed.
It turned out Team had nothing to worry about. Win’s parents welcomed him with open arms, telling him how lovely it was that Win brought home such a nice boy and he spent a good few hours playing video games with Win’s older brother. He didn’t get to see his own family very often but he felt like he’d gained another one by being there.
