Chapter Text
Darkness. All you see is darkness. You open your eyes to an unfamiliar situation, you are no longer in your room. The sky is light gray while the sun is a bright white, that despite the fact you’re staring directly at it, doesn't hurt your eyes. You feel the ground you’re laying on is wooden, cold, coarse, and wet. You try to stand but you almost fall back over. You soon realize the reason for this imbalance is the motion of the waves on the boat you’re standing on. As you stare into the distance, the only things you can see are the pitch black ocean, neutral gray sky, and pure white sun. The smell of salt fills the air. You look over the side of the boat in the reflection of the ocean and you see a shadowy being right next to you. You try to move away from this figure hidden in shadow but you can’t, your body refuses to move. The shadowy figure moves away from the side of the boat and your body moves along with them.
As you do, the smell of salt is replaced with that iron as the ocean that once was black now turns a vibrant red. The waves get stronger; you're doing your best to stay standing. The wind that was once nonexistent now whirls around so quickly that it lightly cuts you. Soon the winds and the waves subside. Suddenly a massive shadow appears behind them. A tidal wave has formed and the howling of the wave and wind combine into the sound of laughter, a deep laugh, a sultry laugh, a woman’s laugh. The wave engulfs the boat. The figure wakes up in pitch blackness breathing heavily, sweating, and clutching at their chest. They abruptly sit up still clutching their chest tight as their breathing steadies. As you watch this figure you hear a voice you’ve never heard before.
It says, “This wasn’t an uncommon occurrence for them but this was the realest nightmare yet. It’s time for you to come back.”
And the figure disappears from your sight and you arrive in a white room.
