Chapter 1: Will You Marry Me?

Chapter Text

Today might possibly be the worst day in his life. Today he was supposed to marry the love of his life, or rather what he thought was after all they’ve been through. He had dressed for the occasion. There he was standing in the courthouse with his marriage and mating license in hand only needing the signature of his mate. They were going to sign them and then in front of an officiator prove their bonding but it’s been three hours since Izuku last heard from his alpha.

He sat alone to the side in a white tuxedo and his hair slicked back. He felt so alone and lost waiting for his mate. They had been together for years and although they had their arguments Izuku always saw him being with the alpha. He didn’t believe he was worthy of anyone else… After all, he wasn’t exactly your perfect image of the perfect omega. He was outspoken and demanding, he refused to submit and always preferred wrestling for dominance. He never liked frilly clothes and much rather preferred a wardrobe fit for an alpha over an omega. He was always looked down on by his alpha for it, and belittled about it. Izuku tried to work with him, even going as far as to stay home and take care of the house as an omega would.. but it seems as though it wasn’t enough.

Through the silent bustle of the courthouse his phone alerted him to a message.

|| Touya: I’m not coming. Send me the address to the omega house you end up at.. I’ll send your things. On me. It’s all packed. ||

Izuku felt tears well up in his eyes. He hated feeling this vulnerable and broken. He was twenty two going to be twenty three and was already pushing the laws in place for unmated omegas.

You see at the age of twenty if an omega is unmated they will be brought to an omega house, however if they are a prime candidate and have high fertility they are usually brought to a breeding house where they are used as surrogates and basically become property of the state against their will.

Izuku had gotten a letter stating that his fate would be a breeding house if he didn’t get mated and married off by…

Well by today.

Izuku covered his face and let out a sob in the empty waiting room. It all felt hopeless. It’s not like he didn’t want a normal family and a mate. He wanted all of it tenfold. He just didn’t want to be treated like some… some glass figurine. He wasn’t fragile and he wasn’t submissive. He just wanted to be himself but clearly this wasn’t working out for him.

He sat there alone in his tuxedo for another thirty minutes before he got another notification of his mat- ex-mate. He clicked the notification and saw a photo of his mate standing there taking a selfie with a blonde woman signing papers, who had a bandaged neck. The caption..

[ Can’t believe my luck… found the perfect omega for me~]

Izuku’s heart was absolutely unequivocally shattering at this moment. It broke with the force of a tornado and he couldn’t feel the shards of glass dig deep into his lungs and throat as the pain of heartbreak overwhelmed him. The green haired omega was entirely in a world of his own despair that he barely registered the pungent scent of a very angry alpha who just left the office of a member of the courthouse on the phone.

“God fucking damnit.. I don’t give a flying fuck who you find or what you have to do to find them and get them down here. Get me a fucking omega in thirty minutes or I swear to god I will rip all of your fucking throats out. You fucking hear me! I ain’t gonna lose everything over a stupid fucking forced marriage!!” A booming voice yelled. “This is not a threat… got it? It’s a fucking promise.”

Abruptly, Izuku was pulled from his thoughts as the yelling startled him. He was confused, Alphas weren’t under restrictions like omegas were, all they needed to do was knock up an omega and move on. What a life they had, somedays Izuku wished he was born an alpha but life is cruel. Regardless of that, Izuku stared at this alpha through his lashes. He was quite handsome. His scent wasn’t the best right now but that could be dealt with. He didn’t have many options. This alpha was looking for an omega, and by the sound of it, didn't care who the omega was, and Izuku himself didn’t want to be shipped off to a breeding house. Heck he could already see the receptionist eye Izuku getting ready to call the services to collect him. Shivers crawled down Izuku's spine at the choice he’d have to make, but he wanted his freedom and he didn’t want to carry pups he'd never be able to keep.

----

It was fucking annoying. His men had one job. Find him an omega to marry so he could keep his position. The old hag forced him to find a mate or she’d refuse to give up the family business to her son. It pissed him off, but he didn’t think it would be hard to find an omega to marry him. Hell he had them dropping to their knees begging for a knot all the time, but now here at the courthouse it seemed like all they wanted was a joystick to ride and a fat knot. All prospects canceled and all replacements excused themselves, which left him in his current predicament, alone in the courthouse for hours waiting for a replacement omega and he only had forty minutes until his mother expected results. He just needed to get a rando. Someone who he can just have sitting there to please the masses.

He was so stuck in his own world he didn’t notice the faint scent of fresh dew and light citrus waft toward him. His phone went off and he sighed with relief.

|| Shitty Hair: I got one. Be there in 20. ||

Katsuki smirked happily and looked at the clock. He'd finally have the business and be able to live his life. He didn’t need to be stuck under his mothers thumb anymore, he could actually make the changes he wanted to. This omega was the key to that. They just needed to get here.

“Um- Excuse me… sir?” a small meak voice echoed.

Katsuki growled under his breath and rolled his eyes looking toward the person who came over. “What do ya want? I don’t have time to talk to nobodys.” he snarled.

Izuku faltered for a moment and collected himself. “Um- I’m sorry to eavesdrop but I couldn’t help but hear you needed an omega?” He fidgeted. “Um, I need to find an-”

“Not interested.” Katsuki growled and waved the omega off. “I have one coming.” He didn’t even bat an eye back toward the other as he turned away from him.

“But-”

“Catch the hint. I don’t want a shitty beta or whatever the fuck you are. Don’t need a desperate rando. So fuck off.” Katsuki said cruelly not ever looking back at the omega. He was desperate but not as desperate anymore now that he had confirmation of his men on the way with one.

Izuku’s breath hitched and tears sprung up in his eyes. He looked down and slowly nodded as he felt tears threaten to overflow. “R-right..” Izuku chuckled. “S-sorry to bother you.” He said with a broken voice as he turned back around and began to walk away. His lips began to wobble as he made his way back to his seat and he sat there to await his fate. He couldn’t leave because he’d only be hunted down shortly after and dragged back to a facility. At least here he could relax in his freedom until inevitably someone would come collect him when the courthouse closed. His life was over and he was useless, that alpha just proved it. He didn't even look at him and dismissed him. Izuku quickly wiped his tears and tried to compose himself, he needed to- he wanted to stay strong. It was all hopeless though.

Or was it?

Another ding rang through the courthouse after about five minutes of silence which was then promptly followed by a loud curse. “God fucking damnit.”

Izuku looked up through his lashes and kinda cowered in the corner as the alpha exploded.

“Shitty hair, what the fuck? You hit fucking traffic? Where the fuck are you right now? Fucking run here!” The alpha bellowed. A pause encased the room followed by a rumbling growl. “You are all pieces of shit! I need one fucking thing to make everything right and no one can seem to fucking do their job! You better get here one way or another or I swear to god It will be your throat.” The alpha fumed and stormed over to a bench opposite of Izuku and angrily crossed his arms and stewed in anger. After a few minutes the alpha brought out his phone and began scrolling through various apps to find omegas. He needed one now.

Soon the minutes flew by and it was now do or die. Katsuki had ten minutes left to marry someone or he was going to lose everything and his omega that was in route was still stuck in severe traffic. They wouldn’t get here for another forty-five minutes. The app he had opened, he couldn’t find anyone willing to just settle down with him and get married, no matter how much money he threw at them. He was growing more and more restless and it grew even more when he got a text message from his mother.

|| Hag: Katsuki. I haven’t heard anything from you? Did you find a mate and are you married? I need to see that paperwork. We’ve been through this and I am not extending this again. You are 22 and you need to find a mate for the clan. I expect a picture of you and your mate with a marriage certificate and to meet them tomorrow with both of you bonded. ||

Katsuki was so angry he could break his phone right now. All his options were bleak and he fucking hated it. He was now desperate, hell he was willing to ask the first omega he saw and offer the riches and whatever they wanted. He had relatives disowned by the family before and they never made much of themselves or they ended up dead, and Katsuki didn’t want to add to that list.

The minutes were flying by and Izuku was growing more restless but also more calm with accepting his fate. He looked over to the receptionist who was now packing up her things. She looked up and made eye contact with Izuku giving him a remorseful look as picked up the land line and raised her hand signaling to Izuku she was going to call the omega service in five minutes. Izuku stifled a sob and nodded before looking back at the blonde alpha who now looked incredibly stressed rather than pisssed. He looked up at the clock and noticed the alpha was now running out of time and his partner hadn’t shown up yet. So Izuku took a deep breath and stood up and straightened his blazer.

The prime omega then stepped forward again and marched right up to the alpha again. This was his last chance he was going to make the most of it and muster all the courage he could despite his shaking limbs.

“Sir.” Izuku started.

Katsuki growled. “I already told you I don’t want some shitty beta-”

“I’m not a beta.” Izuku said sharply with venom. “Look. You need an omega and I need an Alpha. So why don’t we just get married?” Izuku huffed. “Will you settle and just marry me?” Izuku huffed strong and firm, hoping this was enough.

Katsuki pinched his nose and glanced at the man in front of him, not really taking in his appearance. “You don't look or smell like an omega.”  Katsuki growled.

“I’m an Omega, I assure you of that..” Izuku huffed. “It looks like either you marry me and this stress you have will go away or you don’t and you lose everything. Your choice.” Izuku said as he put off a more domineering arua.

Katsuki sat back and closed his eyes looking extremely annoyed. His phone went off again and again. Messages of his men saying they won’t make it and from his mother expecting results. The alpha growled under his breath.

“Will you marry me?” Izuku asked again.

The blonde alpha took a deep breath and looked at his watch and exhaled. He was out of time and out of options. “Fucking fine. Let’s just get this shit over with.” he growled as he grabbed Izuku's arm and stood up. He then started walking back toward the big office toward the back of the building.

The smaller male yelped as he was pulled along but quickly kept pace with this alpha- soon to be husband and mate. Over and over in his head he kept repeating the same mantra. {‘It's all okay, you’ll be able to at least keep your pups, you’d only have to put up with one person, you’ll have more freedom this way. It will all be okay.’}

Before he knew it Izuku was signing the papers and the assistant helping them quickly brought them to the officiator. The whole time both parties didn’t look at each other and were just focused on finishing this marriage.

“Alright so.. Let’s get into this shall we?” The man said as he then cleared his throat.

“Do you Bakugou Katsuki take this man as your husband? To have and to hold through better or worse, sickness and health?…” The man asked Katsuki.

“Fucking obviouly.”Katsuki huffed with annoyance as he waved his hand. He then turned to the photographer in the room. “you better be taking fucking pictures.”

The man sighed as he then looked to Izuku. “Do you…”

Izuku looked up at the man and opened his mouth only to close it. His breath hitched as the weight of what he was doing rested on his shoulders. He was getting married to a stranger, an alpha who had a temper that he didn’t know. He shook his head which prompted the attention of Katsuki to finally look over at his soon to be mate after the pause and movement.

“M-Midoriya.. I-Izuku.” Izuku stuttered out.

Katsuki’s red eyes widened as he took in the appearance of his new mate. Beautiful big eyes, the color of the forest, and unruly curls of green, all that reminded him of his favorite place in the world. The  freckles that splattered across his skin rivaled the stars in the night sky with their beauty and his eyes didn’t stop there. They traveled down and saw how this white suit perfectly accentuated his body. He wasn’t a run of the mill omega, he had some muscle to him and could maybe even pass as a smaller alpha. Katsuki could feel his gums begin to ache. This was the first time he’s ever been so affected by just the appearance of someone. His red gaze found its way back up and was met with the sight of misty viridian eyes and a flushed face, he couldn’t help the small dusting of pink on his cheeks. His husband was beautiful. Why didn’t he just look at this omega when he first talked to him? He could’ve really missed out.

“Take this man as your husband? To have and to hold through better or worse, sickness and health?…”

Izuku paused as he looked at the officiator and then looked over to his husband-to-be. He sucked in a breath sharply as he met the alpha’s heavy gaze on him. Izuku immediately looked down and took in a deep breath before he grasped his hands together in front of him and closed his eyes while he started to nod. “I- i do.” izuku stuttered out.

“By the power vested in me and by the state, I now pronounce you married. You may now kiss your mate.” The man motioned for Katsuki to step toward Izuku.

Izuku’s breath halted as he looked up at Katsuki as he stepped forward and grabbed Izuku's hands. The alpha towered over Izuku and his hands were easily lost inside Katsuki’s. As Katsuki leaned forward Izuku closed his eyes and expected to be kissed on the lips but instead he felt a gentle hand brush his curls off his forehead and felt a soft pair of lips on his forehead. Izuku’s eyes opened abruptly and looked up at Katsuki just as the photo was taken.

Katsuki pulled away slightly before he mumbled something only the two of them could hear. “Don’t worry, we will have a better wedding than this.” His voice was gritty but soft at the same time.

Izuku was like a deer in headlights as he stared at his now husband, all he could muster was.. “O-okay.”

Katsuki smirked and then turned to the man and reached out for the paperwork. “We done here?” His tone was still demanding and powerful but somewhat dulled.

“Actually no. Mid- I mean.. Bakugou Izuku is a Prime Omega and he needs to be mated or he will be shipped to a breeding facility.”

At first the alpha stood there baffled at the knowledge his mate was not only an omega but a prime one, and then it clicked in his head what the man in front of him just said and that did not sit well.

Katsuki snarled as he hooked an arm around Izuku’s frame and pulled him close. “I just fucking married him. Isn’t that enough?” Katsuki growled.

“I’m afraid not. This court needs proof he will be mated by the end of the day. Especially because of his prime status he is a very valuable asset to the state's prosperity.”

Izuku felt sick to his stomach, he was openly being talked about as property. He just wanted this whole thing to be over.

“Tch-” Katsuki huffed.

“We have mating rooms here where we can observe you-”

At this point Izuku didn’t want to hear anymore; he'd already been through enough today. He knew he’d be taken by the alpha at some point but to have it so sudden and with an audience after the day he’s had it was too much. So he just turned his face into Katsuki’s torso and brought his hands over his ears as he subconsciously let out a small whimper of discomfort. He didn’t want to be mated with people in the room, especially with it being the first time with this alpha. The atmosphere in the room immediately changed as soon as the whimper reached Katsuki's ears and Katsuki saw the omega curled into him with his hands over his ears.

Burning red eyes railed back up and bore down on the others in the room. “This is my omega.” Katsuki growled as an overwhelming urge to protect what was his rose up in him. His alpha digging itself deep into the idea of a prime omega choosing him as his mate. He wasn’t about to let go or share for that matter.

The man cleared his throat. “We need proof of mating. Rules are rules.”

Katsuki growled and pulled Izuku from his side and instantly Izuku’s gut dropped. This was it. He was going to be taken in front of all these people and it was going to be a horrible and he couldn’t actually fight back he’d just have to take it-

“Bite down.”

Izuku’s eyes snapped open as was met with a bare wrist in front of his mouth and just out of sight under his sleeve he could see the tail ends of tattoos. Izuku looked up to meet Katsuki's gaze, confused.

“Go on.”

Izuku looked down at his husband’s wrist and parted his lips and moved to bite his wrist gland. As he did he got a whiff of cinnamon and baked ginger, his gums hurt and Izuku gulped and then leaned forward gripping Katsuki’s arm before biting down hard on his wrist almost instantly feeling that sensation of his scent gland bursting in his mouth.

The alpha grimaced and clicked his tongue as he watched the omega bite him and as he felt the sensations that followed. After he gathered himself he grabbed one of Izuku’s wrists and brought it up to his mouth and bit down. He thought it would be a quick burst like it was for Izuku but Katsuki found himself having to readjust his bite to finally burst the gland. Almost instantly Katsuki’s was met with a very overpowering presence of a dominating arua. He got goosebumps as he pulled himself off and licked the crimson off his lips. He could feel his mate's venom igniting all his senses as he stood up straight and grinned like a mad man while he looked his mate up and down as he too unlatched. He fucking hit the jackpot, how stupid would he have been if he passed up this.

Katsuki then looked back over to the man. “That show enough intent?” Katsuki huffed as he pulled Izuku close and then used his other hand to pull back his jacket from his side, not caring about the fresh bleeding bites. “I’d really hate to make my mate any more uncomfortable today.”

The officator paled and quickly nodded. “Uh- uh- y-yes. T-this can be an exception.”

“Good.” Katsuki huffed as he dropped his blazer. He then grabbed the paperwork and folded it nicely before tucking it in his jacket.

“Let's go.” Katsuki huffed as he started to walk with Izuku.

Izuku nodded and quickly started walking with his new husband. He remained silent but his mind was going crazy. This alpha was weird… his whole attitude seemed to change in an instant and it was pretty dizzying but nonetheless it seemed this change was a welcome one as he felt an underlying calmness after they both saw each other almost as if this alpha was trying to calm him. It was rather nice.

The two made it out of the back room only to be met with a few betas dressed in state uniforms to collect an omega. Izuku’s breath hitched and his trembling began again. Katsuki simply kept walking with his hand on Izuku's lower back and glared at the men standing there.

“Um excuse me- that omega-“

“Is my husband. Bakugou Izuku.” Katsuki snarled.

“B-bakugo-“ The attendant stuttered.

“He’s going home with me.” Katsuki snarled again and this time pulled Izuku and himself through the people and began walking out of the building.

Izuku looked back over his shoulder to see the bewilderment of the staff and then the concern. Izuku suddenly felt like he got more than he bargained for and not in a good way.
