Chapter Text
Tommy was running. He'd been running for the past hour, running away, far far away. It was all he could really think about, putting one foot in front of the other, another foot away from Him. He didn't even know if He was following him anymore, but better safe than dead.
The bitter chill followed him with each step, the frozen grass crunched under his feet. It was a lot warmer in Logsted. Tommy shook the thought away, he wasn't going back to that hellhole. Although the snowy tundra was fairly freezing, he just had to find shelter. Techno's cabin.
He knew it was somewhere out in the icescape, he just had to get out of the forest first. However long that took, or however hostile Techno would be, Tommy knew it would be better than with Him.
He cared about you. Lies, all lies. He just wanted to watch Tommy destroy himself. Another strong wind blew. He got this far, he couldn't get taken out by a little cold.

By the time Techno's cabin was in view, Tommy was barely stumbling. He saw the little wooden structure, and the heat radiating out of the chimney. He managed to crack a smile, takin another step forward.
A crack, but this one didn't sound like a tree branch. He looked down, there was a layer of ice beneath him, shattering. Tommy fell through.
If he thought the air was frigid, it was nothing compared to the water. It felt like his skin was freezing, and he wouldn’t be surprised if it was. Tommy could hardly move his arms or legs in an attempt to swim.
He tried swimming towards the surface, but he just felt like he was sinking. He couldn’t breathe anymore, he needed air. Another kick, another push forward didn’t get him any closer to the top.
Tommy hit the bottom, he couldn’t feel anything, which was good and bad. He still couldn’t breathe, and took in a gulp of icy water. Was this how he died? Better than at the hands of Him.
The world was flickering, he was choking on the water. Light was fading fast and Tommy was so weak, there was no chance he was swimming out. At least he tried.
As he blacked out he hoped that Dream didn’t find him before he died.
——————————————
Everything hurt. Tommy was pretty sure everything wasn't supposed to hurt after you die. Maybe he wasn't dead. He still couldn't move, and could barely breathe, but there was a good chance he was alive.
"Kid?"
That was a voice that was definetly not him. He cracked his eyes open very slowly and noticed a few things. He wasn't wet, it wasn't cold, and the sky wasn't blue.
"You alive in there kid?" Tommy thinks he recognizes the voice from somewhere. He's decided it's not Him, it can't be. He also deduced that the thing he saw above him wasn't the sky, but the roof, of somewhere.
A hand gently rested on his shoulder, and he tried to turn toward it but his whole chest just throbbed and he could only groan. "I'm gonna take that as a barely."
Wait, that was Techno. Thank god it wasn't Him, but that still meant that Tommy had been dragged at least half a kilometer by a man who he was pretty sure still wanted to kill him.
He tried turning to the side again, this time succedding and increasing his field of vision to Techno's knees. Tommy assumed he was laying on the couch in Techno's cabin. He attempted to respond, but it came out as a, "Uhhhhhuhuhhh."
"Not feeling very articulate? I don't blame you but you better not die on me. Resussitation is hard work.” He sort of nodded in response. God everything still hurt. Tommy didn’t know what he expected after almost dying.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Shit.
