He was a god.
He was a god who had lost control. When humans spoke of their gods, they spoke of indestructible creatures and beings who know all and controlled all. Thor had once thought that he was the same. Nothing would stand against the Mighty Thor; not even death itself.
He had never considered that death would come for the ones he lost instead. He thought that his love would stay with him forever but now they were lost to time.
Nothing he could have done could’ve changed the outcome of the battle. They were now in the endless halls of Valhalla with the other brave soldiers lost in battle. But that thought did little to comfort him.
He could feel the surge of energy throughout every nerve in his body. Mjönir could do nothing for him anymore. His emotion over ruled everything. Every thought, every reminder, every piece left of his lover made it harder for him to control himself.
The storms thundered on for months after their passing. People speculated it was a warning from their God of their misdeeds and repented their sins. But little did they know that no god could help anyone after all.
