Chapter Text

Kusuo sighed as he looked at the sign. ‘Elenor West’s Home for Wayward Children. No Solicitations. No Visitors. No Quests.’ He sighed once more and walked in, dragging his suitcase behind him.

– - –

“Welcome!” Someone, presumably Ms. West greeted him as he walked in. He nodded.

‘Hello. My name is S-Kusuo Saiki. My apologies, I’m originally from Japan.’

“And where did you go?” Kusuo was tempted to groan.

‘I didn’t go anywhere. I came here.’ Ms. West looked confused. ‘I heard your thoughts, I know what you assumed was going on. That’s not it. I’m from a world that was pretty much the exact same as this one, except very, very rarely there were psychic powers. My teleportation malfunctioned one day, and I ended up here, where nobody had powers except me, because my luck is so bad that my stupid powers came with me.’

“Well, we did just have a similar case, where a girl brought friends home with her…”

‘Look, my parents believe me, seeing as I can demonstrate my abilities. They just don’t want to deal with me, seeing as I didn’t exist here before.’

“Well, all strangeness aside, we must find you a dorm. Gender?”

‘I’m apathetic towards it. I am usually in a male body, but I do have a shapeshifting ability.’

“So we’ll put you with a boy for the sake of simplicity.”

‘Ok.’

A few hours later, he met the kids that had arrived a week earlier.

“Hi! I’m Luz! And this is my girlfriend Amity, and my friends Willow, Gus, and Hunter!”

‘Hello. I’m Kusuo Saiki.’

“So where did you go? I went to the demon realm, which is a lot better than it sounds, and my friends and girlfriend are from there!” Kusuo sighed and resigned himself to explaining once again.

– - –

“So you’re from Japan? What’s it like there?” Gus asked, eyes practically sparkling. Kusuo raised an eyebrow.

‘That’s what you got from that? But fine, I guess I can explain a little from what I understand of the differences between here and Japan.’

– - –

“So what are your pronouns? I’m Kade, by the way. He/him.”

‘I’m Kusuo Saiki. I mostly use he/him but I’m fine with any.’

“Cool. Need any new clothes? Sometimes parents will switch out their kids clothes to fit what they think their kid should look like.”

‘I’m good, thank you.’

“So where’d you go?”

‘I’m starting to consider writing this down.’

“Huh?”

‘It’s already annoying having to repeat this every time.’

– - –

“Huh.”

‘Yeah.’
