U.A high
Day of the sports festival
Bakugou Katsuki was having… a day. He couldn't really say if it was good or bad, while he did win the sports festival he didn't get the fight he thought he deserved and don't even mention how he didn't get to crush that worthless Deku himself. Now after the award ceremony the self proclaimed future no.1 hero decided to make it a good day and ask out the girl who actually managed to impress him, Ochako Uraraka, the only girl in his class who seems to have a drive for heroics that makes her worthy enough to be with him the fact she's admittedly kind of cute helps too.
Bakugou shakes those thoughts from his head as he wanders the stadiums halls and focuses on his current task, finding the girl he's sure will be his, I mean there's no way she could turn me down right? So what if she's friends with that loser Deku or the fact those two become blushing messes whenever they get close, none of that matters since she knows who the right man for her is. Now where is she, raccoon eyes said she was still here somewhere.
He looks down the next hallway and finally spots her standing there fidgeting with her clothes, looking like she's waiting for someone. He pulls out his phone to check if his face and teeth are clean, once that's done and he pockets his phone he makes his way towards Uraraka.
"Hey Uraraka!" He announces, startling her out of thoughts. "I was hoping to find ya."
Uraraka looks up to whoever called out to her and a grimace forms on her face. "What do you want Bakugou?" She asks, clearly not wanting him here at the moment.
Bakugou either not noticing or just ignoring her displeasure, continues. "I had something I wanted to ask you that I'm sure you'd like." An actual smile appeared on his face, a very unnatural look on the eternally angry teens face, that made the attempt to look charming but only amped up the creepiness of this encounter up to 11.
Ochako shudders at the look on his face and is about to tell Bakugou to leave and bother her later (better yet never) but is interrupted by Mr. Head-up-his-own-ass as he slams his hand against the wall next to her.
"Let's go out on a date together, we could get something to eat, see a movie or some other date like shit like that and maybe afterwards I can show you how much of a man I am." Bakugou doesn't ask so much as he announces it to her apparently already knowing she'll say yes. Heh this asking out a girl stuff is easy as fuck, don't know why everyone thinks it some tough shit to do. Now where should we go? Eh I'm sure I'll figure it out later.
He doesn't notice Ochako's face turning green as he mentally pats his own back at his apparent success before being brought back to reality by a single word.
"Ew."
Bakugou freezes, looks back at Uraraka confused and sees her look of utter disgust, almost like she's about to throw up.
"what?" He almost snarls at her, his usual look of impotent rage showing up again.
The gravity girl's disgust turns to anger, anger that's now directed at Bakugou as she swallows the bile in the back of her mouth and answers him. "Are you serious? Why would I ever go out with an asshole like you Bakugou!? I mean seriously, all you've been is a horrible, twisted dickhead to everyone in our class never calling anyone by their name, shouting at them all the time and telling them to "fuck off!" or "die!" and worst of all is how you treat Deku, who you tried to attack on the first day of school and could have killed during our first heroics class and since you clearly don't care about anyone but yourself here's a newsflash for ya! He's my best friend and after today hopefully he'll be more than that." The last part (said by accident) puts a light dusting of red on her face but doesn't diminish her rage towards the blond bastard.
Bakugou couldn't believe it, she turned him down, even worse she tore into him with how much she hates him. He felt furious because nobody turns him down for anything, especially if Deku's involved. As much as he wanted to lash out, to explode at her for talking down to him like that, he just stood with his mouth hanging open now a few steps back after her rant, and then it got worse.
"I-I'm not interrupting anything a-am I Uraraka?" The shaky voice of the last person Bakugou wanted to hear, Izuku "Deku" Midoriya.
At the sound of her crush's voice Ochako's face does a full 180 in emotions, a bright smile adorns her face as well as a dusting of red on her cheeks now from nerves instead of anger. "Not at all!" She closes the distance between them bumping past Bakugou now completely ignored by his potentially-but-really-no-chance-girlfriend. "I was getting worried you wouldn't come."
"S-sorry I got held up o-on the way here." Midoriya scratches the back of his head in embarrassment. "S-so you wanted to t-tell me something?" A small smile on his face and a spark of hope in his eyes at what his crush/best friend could want.
Ochako nods her head and reaches out to gently hold his hand, her thumbs brushing against the back of his hand. "Ever since the first day we met and you saved me from the zero pointer I've thought of you as a hero… as my hero" her blush grows stronger as does his "and every day since we started UA together you've shown me not just how great a hero you are, but also how great a person you are too. You're so kind and caring, always putting others ahead of yourself, always willing to help others up so they can be a better hero or person." even if they don't deserve it, her thoughts going to the blonde behind her. " You've inspired me to break my limits, to be the best hero I can be and I can't thank you enough for just being you."
"Ochako…" Izuku almost whispers it, in awe of the girl he likes talking about him as though he were on the same level as All Might. Before he can say anything else Ochako continues talking.
"But I didn't ask you to come here to tell you how amazing you are, I wanted to tell you that I…" she shuffles her feet, her nerves wanting to get the better of her but she steadies herself and looks into Izuku's eyes. "That I love you Izuku."
As she had been looking into the verdettes eyes she could see that his brain was trying to fully catch up with what just happened and a moment later after a successful reboot his blush had gone nuclear as he could now fully comprehend Ochako's words.
"W-w-wait, you like m-me? Me!? B-but you're so amazing, beautiful, Uraraka y-you could do w-way better than me-mphm."
Not wanting to hear Izuku talk down about himself, Ochako shuts him up with something she's been wanting to do for a while now. She crashes her lips into his and brings her hands up from his, one resting on his chest and the other on the back of his head, fingers raking through his curls. Izuku's body stiffens from the sudden kiss but slowly he brings his hands up onto her hips and returns the kiss before Ochako can pull away.
After a couple of minutes they end their makeout session and pull back gazing into the others eyes, pure and overwhelming happiness in them and all they can do is give a small smile and giggle over finally getting these feelings off their chest.
"So what do you say we check some of the stalls and get a bite to eat, I'm sure they've got some mochi out there." Izuku asks without a single stutter, confidence rolling of the boy (for the moment anyway) as he holds his now girlfriend's hand in his while gesturing with the other to the way out.
"Sounds good to me." Ochako giggles with glee at her boyfriend's obvious joy.
And with that the two lovers make their way out to enjoy the end of the sports festival, both having totally forgotten about the blond standing a few feet away with his jaw on the floor after witnessing what could be the worst outcome to his confession.
Meanwhile with the bakusquad
"So how do you think Bakubro's confession went guys? Think it worked?" Kirishima asked the rest of the squad.
Mina looks at her horn buddy with a look that says 'are you serious?' "Kiri, there's no way Uraraka says yes to him, I'm not gonna go over all the reasons why she doesn't like the guy but it's obvious to everyone in class that she likes Midori, except those two of course, and I guess Bakugou too." She answers, face now in hand, remembering the clueless face of Bakugou when she told him that Uraraka likes someone else so that he wouldn't try and confess.
"Yeah but…" Kirishima tries to come up with a rebuttal before Sero puts an arm around his shoulder and speaks up.
"I'm sure he'll be let down easy enough, I mean Uraraka's a really nice person right?" A grin on his face as he tries to move his redhead buddy past Bakugou's most likely failed confession.
Kaminari comes up on the other side of Kirishima copying Sero. "Yeah I'm sure bakugou will be just fine man, I mean what's the worst she could say?"
