Truth or Dare

Summary:

Grima would rather keep drinking with Chrom, but he joins the others at Kiran's sleepover in playing Truth or Dare... and she's had just enough wine to go along with it too.

[Grimatober; Prompts 11-15: whole, truth, choice, fear, human]

Notes:

I never leave the house why do I keep writing about characters being at parties???

Well, anyway... Grima needs to have fun.

Work Text:

Whole

“You drank that whole bottle of wine already?”

“You said it was for me, worm!”

“Well, I was thinking it would last you the whole night, not an hour, but… Whatever, it’s fine. A drunk fell dragon is… totally fine… probably.”

Grima scowls. She wouldn’t be at Kiran’s inane “sleepover” if she wasn’t getting something out of it. She deserves another bottle for putting up with such foolishness.

“She didn’t drink it all by herself.”

A hand claps her on the shoulder.

“Oh, Chrom… So that’s where you went off to.” Kiran laughs. “In that case, don’t worry about it.”

Truth

“Chrom, you’re first. Truth or dare?”

Grima cannot believe Kiran roped all their guests into playing this immature game. She’s starting to regret giving half her wine to Chrom, even if he did look awkward next to the Garreg Mach students he was with. Despite being close in age, they’re still studying under their professors, while he’s already led his army to regicide.

Grima would rather drink more with him than entertain Kiran. But he’s too polite.

“Truth.”

“Do you like anyone?”

“Huh? I-I like a lot of people!” Chrom insists. “Everyone here, of course.”

His gaze lingers on Grima.

Choice

“Okay, Grima, truth or dare?”

The choice is hers… but for her, there is no true choice. She has amnesia for one, and as for the fell dragon’s past… What human history hasn’t already recorded is best forgotten. Thus…

“Dare.”

The ginger-haired boy—Sylvain, she thinks—pauses for a moment, then grins.

“I dare you to kiss someone here!”

He winks flirtatiously at her. She makes a mental note to kill him first, as soon as she’s able.

“Er, Grima, you don’t actually have to—”

Her glare silences Kiran. She refuses to let these worms make a mockery of her.

Fear

Grima glances at Chrom from the corner of her vision. Something churns in her gut. Fear… Revulsion… The sight of him always makes her feel these things.

But catching her eye, he smiles reassuringly, and maybe it’s just the wine in her blood talking, but she wants to tell him he’s the most unpretentious man to ever live. It draws her to him, even when she thinks it better to stay away.

“You’ll do,” she says quietly.

“R-Really? You want me?” As always, he’s sincere.

“We’ve already shared the same bottle.” What’s one kiss more?

“Er, I guess that’s true.”

Human

Human lips are shaped to fit together, their fingers shaped to be linked. Grima has cursed her fragile new form thousands of times, but for once, she doesn’t mind if her head spins for a bit.

“Ha, okay, you win—”

Grima ignores Kiran. Her lips part for Chrom’s tongue.

“No, really, you can stop… Shoot, is this how orgies start? I never made it to any college parties…”

That stops Chrom in his tracks. Reddening, he pulls away.

“Sorry… I got a little carried away.”

Grima flushes, too. Strangely, it’s not from anger.

“Forget it,” she mutters.

He’s only human.
