Chapter Text
Chapter 1 - Hoodie Season
Chan and Felix are sitting curled around each other on the smaller couch in the living room of the house they share with their six friends.
It’s movie night and this week the eldest of the eight boys got to pick what they watched. He had decided they were going to watch the twilight movies as a joke, him actually being a vampire and all.
Chan enjoyed pointing out all of the inaccuracies the movie has about the species to his friends.
“We don’t sparkle in the sun, that’s just dumb doesn’t everyone know we actually just have to make sure we have a good, relatively fresh, supply of blood to drink for every hour we are in direct sunlight.” The eldest of the group explains to his friends, “I don’t know where they got that idea.”
He didn’t do it constantly, otherwise the night would end with him pouting into Felix’s neck or hair while the others, especially Jeongin who loved any excuse to make mischief, pelted the eldest of the group with popcorn. Which he had learned would happen the hard way.
It hadn’t been on purpose, Chan accidentally revealing to his three human friends what he actually was, a few weeks ago they first had witnessed him feeding off of Felix and seeing the small, still slightly bleeding, wounds on the younger's neck after the older pulled away, understandably freaking out at the sight and what it could possibly mean.
But now none of their roommates, human or otherwise, even batted an eye when they saw the boyfriends ensuring that Chan had a full stomach. They just maybe teased them a little (Ok, fine. They teased the couple relentlessly) about how much they both seemed to enjoy it, much to the embarrassment of Felix and Chan’s resignation.
So sitting with his cute boyfriend relaxing in his arms -practically putty after having been fed on just an hour ago- Chan watched the movie, happy to be providing some comments from the peanut gallery every now and then whenever he felt it was necessary.
When the movie ended all of the boys moved to their respective rooms. Hyunjin, Seungmin, and Jeongin to the one on the left side of the hallway. Minho, Jisung, and Changbin to the one on the right side. Finally Chan and Felix went to the smallest room in the middle at the end of the hall.
That’s how the eight boys spend every weekend, going in a random order they decided on for who chooses the movie for that week.
Minho and Felix, the only ones who won’t set fire to the apartment, making dinner and snacks.
Seungmin, Changbin, and Jisung setting up the small living room by moving furniture out of the way and dispersing almost every blanket, pillow, and stuffed animal they could acquire.
Hyunjin, Jeongin and Chan were unofficially in charge of making sure no one accidentally manages to hurt themselves and officially in charge of making drinks and helping out when they are needed.
Of course there are times their weekly ritual has to be put on hold because of whatever reason. Someone is sick, too much homework, someone had to work late, and things like that.
However that list normally doesn’t include a fairy who is on the verge of either dying of embarrassment or committing a felony, it’s honestly hard for Chan to decipher which sometimes. Today though, that’s exactly what Chan is dealing with.
Chan wakes up to a slight chill in the air, as is expected in the middle of January, and doesn’t think anything of it until he glances at Felix who is curled up in a little ball and is under at least three of their blankets.
After rubbing the sleep from his eyes and waking up a bit more Chan noticed that the wings Felix normally has hidden, due to having human roommates that don’t know he is a fairy and have a tendency to invite themselves into their room without knocking, were very much visible to anyone who might pay them a visit.
Worried, Chan decides to wake the winged boy and ask what was the matter because it’s extremely unlike Felix to slip up like this. Waking him however manages to make things worse as the wings begin to move around, knocking the blankets off of them.
“Lix!” Chan sharply hisses through his teeth, “Stop moving, what if one of our human roommates walks in?”
“Mmmm… Wha-?” Felix responds eloquently, struggling to process anything due to the sudden change in his state of consciousness.
“Your wings, Lixie. They’re out.” The older boy says, gesturing to the youngers back, “Are you ok? It’s not like you to slip up even in your sleep.”
“ ‘m too cold Channie. You know how I get, especially if there isn’t anything to share its energy with me.”
Chan's mouth falls open to form an ‘o’, mind processing what he was just told.
“Lix, why didn’t you tell me? What happened to your Christmas cactus? It should have been enough to prevent you from getting like this right?”
Felix just hangs his head down at the mention of the plant his boyfriend had purchased for him their very first winter together.
“It died… I think I got too greedy at some point this week and took more than my fair share…”
Chan's features soften at the admission, “Why didn’t you tell me baby? I would have gotten you another one, maybe even a few so you wouldn’t have to take too much from one plant.”
Felix’s ears take on a rose coloured hue, he had known that’s what would have happened if he had just told his boyfriend in the first place, but then he had gotten in his own head and convinced himself Chan would be disappointed in him.
“ ‘m sorry Channie…”
Chan just kisses his forehead and tells him that he is going to run to the store to get a few plants and maybe pick up some soup to warm the boy back up.
He has already texted their friends, saying his younger boyfriend wasn’t feeling well and that they weren’t going to be leaving their room unless it’s to get food for the boy.
And that’s exactly what he does, he had been pretty quick too, only being gone twenty minutes tops.
So why in the world when Chan steps foot into the apartment again, is Felix crouching on the countertop in the kitchen wearing Chans warmest sweater, swiping at one of their poor roommates with one hand and holding a green onion out of reach of the poor soul, most likely Minho thankfully, who had just wanted to cook breakfast with it.
It takes a second to register exactly what he is looking at but as soon as he does Chan jumps into action.
Carefully depositing the three plants he had bought as well as the promised soup by the entry of the little hallway leading to the rooms, sneaking up behind Felix to take the onion away with one hand and restraining him from retaliating on the other, not that it was really necessary because as Chan made contact Felix was immediately settled.
“Chan, oh than the gods!” Sighs Minho, oh thank every deity out there it really is just Minho, in relief. “What’s wrong with Felix, I thought our little sunshine boy couldn’t even feel negative emotions?”
“His cactus died and he has little to no energy right now so he’s probably going to act funny all day, especially because it got pretty cold in our room last night.”
Nodding his head Minho accepts the explanation and offers to help with the now docile fairy should he go practically feral within sight of one of their other roommates who might not be able to fend him off as easily.
Chan was about to voice his acceptance of the offer when he notices the aforementioned boy squirming out of his hold, grabbing his hand and all but sprinting the both of them in the direction of the hallway where his new plants were sitting.
Surprised at Felix’s sudden display of strength Chan drops the onion and lets himself be dragged along, the boys only pausing long enough to let Felix grab two of the Christmas cactus’ and let the other pick up the third as well as the soup before making their way back into their shared bedroom.
In the brief moment it takes for Chan to enter the room behind Felix and turn to close the door, he hears the two clicks of plant pots being set on wood and feels the third being removed from his grasp.
Turning back he sees that Felix has decided to set the two plants he had been holding on each of their dressers and is in the process of settling the one that Chan had just been holding on the nightstand on his side of the bed.
“Hey Lix Baby, will you sit down for me? I want to ask you a couple of questions and then I can get some warm soup in you, ok?”
At the request Felix dive bombs into the bed and wraps a blanket around his shoulders before looking up at Chan expectantly.
“Why were you so upset at Minho baby? Also what did that green onion have to do with it?”
“The onion was giving me some of its energy! They don’t have much because of their size but since they are still alive it was able to!” Felix chirps, answering the first question.
“Ok… and you were upset because Minho wanted to use it before you were done? Is that it?”
“Mmhm, you shouldn’t interrupt fairies when we are being given energy with something, especially if it’s one who favours plants and nature! Especially not to eat it!”
“Alright, I’ll keep that in mind and let him know later, sound good Lixie?” Chan pauses to look at the fairy, who nods in response, before continuing. “Now all I want to know now is why are you in my sweater baby? Not that I’m complaining, I love seeing you in my clothes, I’m just curious.”
“Warm, and smells good.” Felix puts simply, and that is all the answer the vampire gets out of his fairy.
Chan only shakes his head and chuckles at his boyfriend, as he approaches the bed with the soup to feed him.
It takes about ten minutes before Felix gets tired of Chan slowly feeding him one spoonful of the soup at a time, so he grabs the container out of his hands and just drinks it right out of it, luckily not making a mess.
“Slow down Felix, I don’t want you to choke.” Chan admonishes softly.
Felix doesn’t respond but does slow at the words and manages to finish his soup with no incidents.
Welcoming the relaxing feeling of having a full belly and the comforting feeling of having his boyfriend so close Felix sets the empty soup container on his nightstand beside the new plant that has been slowly sharing its energy with him, he takes a second to run his fingers over the new living addition to the room I’m gratitude, and turns so that he can bury his face in Chan’s chest in hopes of cuddles.
Smiling softly at the cute scene that his fairy makes, Chan wraps his arms around him and presses a soft kiss on the top of his head before quietly suggesting that they take a nap until lunch.
They didn’t end up waking up in time for lunch and slept right until dinner time.
.
.
.
Well, if Felix HAD in fact, woken up at some point close to lunchtime only to see his beloved vampire still sound asleep, and whether or not he decided they weren’t finished their nap and pressed his head back into his boyfriend's chest to go back to sleep that’s nobody else’s business but his own, right?
