Work Text:
As soon as her favorite hunter’s left, Holly regretted giving them the job. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust them. She did and they’d been a huge help to her lately. But she took pride in her job and doing it well. People had come to rely on her, so instead of being honest about her fears and limits, she kept agreeing to take on tasks she wasn’t well suited to do. Then, instead of doing them, she kept passing the buck off onto those boys.
It was hard not to love the way they kept going out of their way to lend her a hand, but Holly knew it needed to stop. This would be the very last time she took advantage of their generosity. It was going to be tough, but she needed to take responsibility and say no when she was asked to take on work she couldn’t handle.
Decision reached, Holly felt a lot lighter. The guilt had been piling up, but now she could breathe again. She was going to do better and focus on doing work she could be proud of at the job she loved. She owed it to her employers and herself.
