Work Text:
Her plan was perfect. Her prey didn’t suspect a thing. All she had to do now was lie in wait, waiting for the moment he would fall into her trap. Patience wasn’t her strong suit, but she could wait for something like this.
Each of Aubrey’s previous operations had gone off without a hitch. Well, not counting the part directly afterwards where they all threatened revenge. Or, in some cases, like Dani, executed said revenge immediately .
But this time would be different. Like, it was Duck . “Chosen One” or not, he definitely wouldn’t see her coming. And she would have him laughing too hard for him to fight back, and then she would make her swift escape, and then she would avoid him for long enough that he forgot all about it.
Except, that’s not what happened.
Instead, when Duck walked past her hiding place, Aubrey found herself on the floor faster than she could blink. His fingers swiftly found her weak points, sending her howling as she struggled to throw him off, to grab his hands, anything . Not that this wasn’t fun and all, but he ruined all her plans!
“Did you really think I wouldn’t see you coming?” Duck drawled, kneading into her sides. “Aubrey, I have a little sister. I know all the tricks.”
“ Shit .”
“Not to mention, leaving a trail of bodies over the past week so I know you’re on the prowl? Not your smartest move.”
And Duck would make sure she wouldn’t forget how foolish she was for a long, long time.
