The smile on George's face as they opened the door to the cat café said more than words ever could.
Clay had picked the perfect spot for their first date.
Their first moment alone.
They've been together in person for a little over a week now and George still couldn't believe it.
Every stolen glance at Clay he savored, like he couldn't believe he was real.
Clay was just the same.
Lingering touches when he could get them.
His eyes constantly locked on George.
Suddenly he couldn't remember what a week ago felt like.
All he could think about was how George was living with him. They never had to be apart again.
They walked inside, greeted by an employee then went to go sit down.
"Clay look, she looks like Patches" George pointed out a cat laying by the window.
Her eyes were exactly like Patches. It was a little weird seeing a cat look so much like his own.
"Do you wanna sit here?" Dream asked
"I'm nervous I've never been to a cat café before" George said as he sat down.
Dream chuckled softly, sitting next to him.
"You're nervous?" Dream asked
"What if the cats hate me" George said, looking back at him.
"No one could hate you" Dream said
George smiled, rolling his eyes and shook his head.
Dream smiled, watching as George carefully reached his arm out, letting the cat walk up to him then gently scratched behind its ear.
He let out the smallest gasp when it purred, pushing its head more against his hand.
"Clay.." George whispered
"I told you." Dream smiled
Clay watched from the side, his heart doing flips.
He couldn't take his eyes off of George.
George's eyes lit up when he looked at the cats, a smile never leaving his face.
His cheeks tinted pink, they probably hurt from how much he was smiling.
He looked over at Clay, the blush darkening on his cheeks.
"Why are you staring?" George asked
"You're mesmerizing" Dream said
"Oh my— shut up"
He laughed, his smile wide as he looked at George.
"Do you want something to drink?" Dream asked
"I'll have whatever you're having" George said, smiling as another cat jumped into his lap.
Dream nodded and got up, walking away to order their drinks.
He got himself a mocha coffee and George a warm cup of tea.
He brought their cups over, handing George his drink then sat back down.
"You've got a lot of new friends George, I don't think we can leave now" Dream teased
"We have to take them all home" George laughed, taking a sip of his tea.
"Patches could use a friend" Dream said, drinking his coffee.
"Wait actually?" George asked
"If you want a cat I won't say no, George" Dream said, looking at him
"I could kiss you right now" George smiled, looking straight into Dreams eyes.
"No one's stopping you" Dream teased.
Clay was taken by surprise when George leaned in without a second thought.
His lips were soft, warm from the tea as they pressed against Clay's.
No matter how many times they kissed he knew it would always make his heart skip.
He cupped George's cheek, tilting his head and kissed him back softly.
"Your lips taste like coffee." George said
"I wonder why?" Dream laughed
"No no it's not bad" George said, smiling as he looked at him
"It's not?"
"I want to try it, it's like chocolate too?" George said
"Wh- I thought we we're having a moment here" Dream said
George laughed, taking Dream's cup and took a drink of the coffee.
"It's horrible!" George said through a laugh
"What?"
"It's too sweet" George said
Dream laughed, taking the cup from him and finished off the last drink.
George watched him, his eyes darting back and forth from Clay's eyes to his lips touching the cup.
Dream put his cup down, scooting closer to George and wrapped an arm around his waist as he pet the cat in George's lap with his free hand.
"Can I really have a cat?" George asked, leaning into his touch.
"Yes, of course. Why would I tell you no?" Dream said, looking down at him.
George smiled, resting his head against Dream's chest while they both pet the cat now sleeping in George's lap.
Dream kissed the top of his head, closing his eyes and just relaxed against George.
"I think I want this white one. He likes us" George said
"What's his name?" Dream asked
George leaned forwards, checking the tag on her collar.
"Sushi" He said with a laugh, petting the top of the cats head.
"I'm gonna text Nick and tell him we're bringing home Sushi" Dream laughed.
They adopted the cat together, Dream running in to the nearest pet store to get some new toys, a bed, and extra food for the cat before they went home.
George held the cat the whole way home, nuzzling his face against the cat.
It was the cutest thing Dream had ever seen.
They got home, walking inside.
"What kind of sushi did you get?" Sapnap asked from the couch.
George laughed as he walked into the living room, Dream behind him with everything from the pet store.
"Say hi to Sushi"
"What!" Sapnap yelled, getting up and walked over to them
"He's so cute" George said, turning to let Sapnap pet him.
"Patches is gonna love him" Sapnap said, petting the cat gently.
"Let's introduce them" Dream said
"She's in her bed" Sapnap said.
Dream went into the other room, at this point the room was just for Patches, but she can share now.
He set down the new bed and grabbed the bag with toys, holding onto it.
"Patches, c'mere" He said softly, smiling as her head poked out of the little cat tunnel.
She happily walked over to him, purring as she rubbed her face and body against his leg.
He picked her up, kissing her head and walked into the living room.
George and Sapnap were on the floor, playing with Sushi.
"He's so energetic" George laughed as the cat lunged at his hand.
Dream sat down, Patches in his lap.
"Look Patches, a friend" Sapnap said.
She looked at Sushi the closed her eyes, starting to fall asleep in Dream's lap.
George chuckled, looking up at Dream.
"Maybe we try tomorrow?" George asked
"Yeah let's try again then" Dream laughed
"Me and Patches are gonna go lay down. I'm gonna order pizza" Sapnap said as he picked Patches up from Dream's lap.
"Okay, get some for us too" Dream said
Sapnap nodded as he walked off to his room and Dream looked over at George.
"Let's go lay down while we wait?" George smiled
"Okay"
"Your room" George said
"Why mine?" Dream laughed as they stood up
"Bigger bed"
They went to Dream's room, kicking off their shoes and quickly changed into pajamas.
Sushi had already claimed his spot at the bottom of the bed, curled in a ball as he slept.
George smiled as he carefully climbed into bed, Dream right next to him.
"Did you have a nice time today?" Dream asked
"Best day ever" George said, cupping his cheek and kissed Dream softly.
Like always Clay felt his heart do flips.
Fireworks exploding in his stomach.
George's lips felt perfect against his own, like they were made just for him.
George pulled away slowly, looking into his eyes.
"What's wrong?" He asked
"Not a single thing" Dream said
"You always seem lost in thought when we kiss." George said
"You make me insane" Dream teased
George laughed, his smile wide and bright.
Dream loved his smile so much.
"It's like everytime we kiss my head feels all fuzzy" Dream said
"Is that good?" George asked
"Definitely."
George put his head on Dream's chest, listening to his rapid heartbeat with a soft smile on his lips.
He was finally with his soulmate, he never had to leave.
They never had to be apart, it's real.
It's home.
