Everyone onboard knew that Lucius and Pete were fucking. Even if someone tried to hide such a thing, it was nearly impossible to on a ship this small. But for Lucius, Pete was so much more than just a fabulous shag — and Lucius wanted everyone to know that. He could hang up a banner, except most of the crew couldn’t read.
When everyone was gathered for story time one night, Pete headed for the group after most people were already settled in. On impulse, Lucius jumped up and intercepted Pete, taking his hand, which made Pete pause right in front of where Stede usually sat.
Lucius bowed a low courtly bow to Pete, kissing his hand, just barely brushing Pete’s knuckles with his lips. When he straightened up, he smiled what Pete called his wicked smile. It was one of his favorites. Lucius quickly wrapped both arms around Pete and bent him backwards in a low dip, bracing one of Pete’s legs with his own.
Pete felt that he was always ready for Lucius’s kiss, but sometimes Lucius surprised him, and that was one of the things he loved about Lucius. The kiss was not light nor heavy, just the perfect place in between, with lots of lip.
They met with lips slightly at an angle to each other, perfectly cushioned together. Pete’s arms were looped around Lucius’s neck, relaxed and pliant in his arms, with no fear of falling. One hand caressed the back of Lucius’s neck, playing with the hair there. He let just the tip of his tongue trace along Lucius’s lips… then realized not only that he was getting hard, but they were in full view of everyone, and most of them were applauding, whistling, and catcalling. “I love you, Lucius said, then deemed it time to lift Pete back up dramatically, and Pete was able to do a little spin with a flourish.
“I know,” Pete answered, his eyes shining with love. They held hands while Lucius swept a low bow to their audience, and Pete was able to do a pretty good curtsy. Then they went to sit in their usual place next to Fang and Ivan, and exploded into giggles.
“Babe, what all that was about? Not that I’m complaining at all!” Pete said in Lucius’s ear.
Lucius spoke quietly back. “I just want everyone to know that I love you, that it’s not just about the amazing fucking. And since a lot of people don’t kiss when it’s casual, I thought that might be something. Plus I just really really wanted to kiss you, babe.”
Of course Lucius would think of other ways to show his love, but this was a start.
