"Ughhh I'm so boreeeedd!!" Coraline groaned in irratance as she slumped herself on the pink mattress

Staring at the white ceiling in sheer boredom, the blue haired girl had been fending off her thoughts of trying to do something for fhis weekend

However, not of all the ideas intrigued her eventhough it was all suggested by her own thoughts

Anything, just anything....

If only there's something interesting that may happen today

"Pssttt!!"

A small tap from the window suddenly alarmed her, turning her head to look at the commotion, it seems that someone was was throwing pebbles to gain her attention

Coraline rushed to inspect the cause, walking towards the window and pulling the case up, her eyes widen to see a familiar boy with his usual motorbike staring at her in focus

She smirked in amusement as she placed her hip

"Well, well, well... if it isn't the village stalker..." she chuckled "what's up, Wybie?"

But among the usual, the boy looked around and let out a smug look as if there was something interesting happened

"Heh, guess who's got a computer for winning the math competition??" He grinned, causing his best friend roll at her eyes because of his cheeky smirk

"Dang you finally get to have one? Aw man, I'm jealous.." Coraline frowned, resting her head on her hand

"Actually, that's not just the only thing I wanted to tell you..." Wybie added, moving closer on her window hoping that the neighbors wouldn't be disturb from their difficult discussion

"You see, I bought a game just to test the specs and it's a mystery/Horror detective type of game I manage to download in it.." he chuckled as he remembered last night

"I wanted to ask you if you wanna come and play it with me? Since I had nothing to do and it's weekend, I'll just gonna mees around the computer for today..." He finished with nervous smile

Coraline halted as a sudden realization snapped inside of her

Is this the sign that she had been asking for?

"If you don't want to it's alr-"

"YES..." Coraline replied in a heartbeat, looking down towards Wybie confusingly looked back at the black cat inside the basket on his motorbike

She fumbled, leaving without any clarifications not until she realized that she had left him hanging outside the window, she went back and opened the window

"I'm going with you! Let me get ready!!"

Finally closing the window shut, Coraline quickly put on her shoes that had been thrown under bed a while ago, brushing her messy hair and fixing the wrinkle om her clothes, the girl quickly went downstairs like a speed of rushing light, zooming down the staircase

She jumped on the last level, leaving her Dad just passing by the hallway startled at her sudden behaviour

"Woah! Twitchy girl, you're being sprightly today..." Charlie chuckled, holding a random newspaper on his hand as he observe the sudden bolt of energy radiation from his daughter

"Oh hey Dad!" She waved her hand and grabbed her yellow raincoat on one of the coathangers "Wybie and I wanted to check out his new computer today and it's weekend so I'll just gonna hang around over there..."

He laughed and nodded his head "Yes yes, Wybie asked me that a while ago, of course you guys could hang out, actually he's already outside waiting for you, you're mom was just keeping him company..."

"Thanks dad!"

"Be safe you two!"

Coraline smiled amd nodded her head understandably, just in time that she was finally ready to go outside, walking down the hallway, seeing the glimpse of her mother's figure outside the door, as what her father told her, Wybie was there, looking cheerfully at her mother as they were a having a light conversation

Coraline smirked just as she went to approach them

"Seems like you two were having a very good conversation..." she teased, causing the two figures to turn their heads and chuckled

"Oh you're finally here! Thank goodness I thought you're goona take more than hour to prepare yourself like last time we went shopping..." Mel chuckled just as Wybie smiled and waved his hand

"Heya Jonesy!!"

Coraline waved back at him

Mel smiled, crossing her arms as if she had something serious to say

"Now, you guys better stray out of the woods again alright? The weather is s uncertain today, so the only thing that I can maku sure that you're safe is staying inside Mrs. Lovat's house, beyond other places, don't go anywhere got that?"

"Don't worry Mrs. Jones, Corakine will be safe and sound around me" Wybie smiled in assurance

Mel approvingly nodded her head without second thought "I trust you Wybie, but as for my daughter of mine..." she paused looking at Coraline in such uncertainty

"Mom, you don't have to look at me like that that..." Coraline groaned

"if she kept giving me surprises over and over again..."

"Okay mom I get it, can I please go now???" Coraline frowned, praying her hands "I won't start a fuss I promise.."

"Good..." Mel sighed and proceeded to walk away from them

"Becareful you two!!"

"Thank you Mrs. Jones!"

"Bye Mom!!"

Just as Coraline had mange to take a step outside, Mel froze amd turned her body around

"Oh, and before you guys leave..." she stated, leaving the two kids slowly
turning their heads as if they had done something wrong

Mel chuckled and pointed her hand on the table with two boxes pwas placed on top

"I just ordered a pizza, why don't you take one while you guys hang out?.."

A sigh of relief waved through them at the offer, looking at each other with a nervous look, Wybie and Coraline laughed.

As soon as the two biked their way back towards the Lovat's residence, they were immediately greeted by Mrs. Lovat by the door with a few plates of sandwhich and chips on her hand, Wybie diligently taking his grandmother had prepare for them and kissed her cheek while Coraline carefully placed their coat neatly on the hangers and shoes beside the door

Just as Mrs. Lovat had left to take care the kitchen, the two scampered their way to the staircase and to Wybie's room, leaving the door open, Coraline quietly looked around the area

To her suprise, all the things inside were rearranged and reorganized, down from his books

"Woah, seems like your room just got a makeover.."

Wybie chuckled, pulling a small wooden table and placed the plate filled with sandwich and slowly went towards the window opening the case, allowing the black cat to enter inside the house secretly and plopped black furry body on the mattress, watching the curly boy setting everything done

"Oh well, that's what we get if we had another set to place inside and besides, safety first..." he added, showing her the newly bought computer that he bad been talking about a while ago duting their trip on his motorbike

"Ooohhhh it seems new..." she looked at the machine eagerly

Wybie nodded his head "Actually, Grandma brought this from an old friend of hers, they're just pretty good at keeping their things.."

Her eyes went wide "Wait really? It looks so brand new to me..."

"And the best part is, it was small but accessible!" Wybie grinned pulling the wires, plugging the wires on

To their anticipation, the copputer worked splendidly without errors, Wybie insisting to come closer placing the chair beside him

Seeing how excited her best friend is, Coraline chuckled and sat down beside him

Wybie paused for a moment and shook his head

"Okay, I know that our boredom span was very much different but once you don't like the game, we could just stop right away, and found something interesting on this magical box instead, sounds good to you, Jonesy?"

With that, Coraline tool a slice of pizza and handes on over him "Oh yeah definitely" Coraline understandably nodded "That is, if it could entertain us for a whole day.."

"WAIT, where should I go?! I-I forgot!"

"At the basement, you dummy! Quick before the time runs out!!"

A few hours had passed, it was already 3pm

And yet, the two had forgotten their bet

Instead, they had been invested all their whole attention at the commotion going on at the screen

Wybie frantically clicked everything he could find for clues

"I had the feeling we missed something...we haven't searched all of the rooms at all!"

"How bout the stockroom?" Coraline added

"We still need to find the key for it remember???" Wybie recalled, grabbing the chip inside and ate

The two sighed, noticing how the screen looked dark and eeriely, a knot of bad feeling causd them to move unease

"Okay...we haven't went to this room yet..." Coraline whispered

"Man, I can't see anything from here..." Wybie groaned, munching down the chips in such aggression

Coraline laughed "are you stress eating right now?"

"No..." Wybie simply replied, continue to nibble down the chips

Within a second, a flash popped on the screen, a cutscene, revealing a dark room and single light at the center emitted a dark creepy old wooden crate

The two halted, giving each other glances in suspicion of the display

The screen suddenly opened a small tab asking a few simple question

Do you want to open this chest? Yes or No

"Ahhhh here we go again..." Coraline sighed

"Another trick I see..." Wybie added

Interest grew from the Black Cat that it instantly peaked its tail upwards, jumped off from the bed and walked his way towards Wybie, sitting down on the boys lap to seel the whole view of the screen, his black coal pupils dilated as he stared back

"Let's open it.." Coraline suggested

However, Wybie is quite unsure about the idea of opening it

"I dunno...I-I'm not pretty sure of opening stuff like this.."

"But there's could be something inside that could help us solve this fiasco.." She added, squinting her eye at the screen "That's just how my gut feels right now.."

"You know? Sometimes you remined me pandora.."

"Pandora?" Her brows raised in wonder

Turning his head to look at her, Wybie shrugged "You know? Greek mythology? Fifth class? mortal woman made by the gods who opened the mysterious box that it was forbade to open in the first place? Curiosity got the best through her, just like you..."

"You went into the libraray yesterday, don't you?" His best friend asked with an amused stared

"Yes.." He simply replied

She chuckled, pushing his seat to focus back on the game

"And I say, we open the crate..."

"Didn't you even listened to what I said??" Wybie frowned

Coraline however, dismissively waved her hand to shove of his point

"Ah psshh! It wasn't even a magical chest that was made by gods or whatever-"

"It's a cursed one, much worse..."

"We're already doomed ever since we step into the game, might as well get althrough the way and took the risk.."

Taken by her reason, Wybie paused, considering her point as he looked at the screen, eventhough it was obvious that the cat was also unsure of the situation

With a final choice, Wybie sighed and nodded

"Alright, let's do it..." he muttered as Coraline grinned

Returning their gazes at the tab, finally, opening the chest, as soon as they had clicked to open, a sudden folt of a locked clicked, causing the two to startled from the sound

To their surprise, their was a small key inside...

"Oh nice! That must be the clue to the next room!"

"We shoumd leave this place, it's giving me the creeps!"

clicking the key and hiding it from the inventory section, the two struggle to return back from the door

"See? I told you nothing's bad going to happen-"

Coraline snickered as she watched Wybie opening the door

But to their unknown, as soon as the boy clicked the door to take a peek, there was nothing but an empty red color displaying at the screen and a black circle at the center

It was such an uncanny feeling but yet, they no other choice

"Dang it, I'm entering this!"

Pulling the doorknob to open, to their wonder the screen turned black

Wait the room was supposed to be red

And then..

A flash of a disfigured woman popped out of nowhere on the screen her hair disheveled

And with those big red bulging eyes staring at them as if it was alive

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

the two screamed in panic at the horrid sight, including the cat jumped from his position as he hissed

Suddenly, a gush of strong wind invaded through the window, pushing the door roughly and slammed it shut

Wybie and Coraline screamed multiple times because of it

Panic had stricken the two for they had thought that they had been playing a curse game

And now it was trying to go after them and keeping them inside the room

"OH MY GOD, IT'S COMING AFTER US!!"

Wybie almost had an heart attack as Coraline pulled him away from the screen, still screaming

The two kids immediately backed away from the computer and as what children would usually do, they ran, stumbling on their feet as if they had been chased

Wybie rushed to his bed and hid himself inside the blanket out of fear as the cat joined it

"HEY, DON'T LEAVE ME YOU JERKS!" Coraline shouted and went it to join inside the sheets

as soon as the three had manage to hid inside, they breathe trying to calm himself down

"Oh god...I am not playing that game ever again..." Wybie cried trying to recollect himself from the trauma "I don't think I could sleep well after this..."

Coraline sighed and patted his back

"I've been there buddy...welcome to my world.."

Letting out a disgusted look, Wybie frowned

"After all this time...I wasn't even looking at the room, I was looking straight at her eye, EWWW YUCK!" He pondered, covering his face in humiliation

Coraline, somehow even at the situation was terrfying, the way the boy had said those words, she couldn't help but to chuckle

"Eyyyy...what are you laughing at???" Wybie asked annoyed and wondered at the same time

"Nothing, I just remembered your face amd the way you said it was so funny hahaha..."

And with their small lighthearted talk, their panic once again, stricken them when they heard the door twisted and opened

For once they thought that it might be the monster that they saw on the screen

"What were you two screaming and pondering about? I hear ya'll over outside the garage..what's the fuss over here?"

As soon as they heard the familiar voice

It was just Mrs. Lovat

Wybie pulled the sheets down, peeking to see his grandmother staring in wonder at him

"Hi ma..." he chuckled nervously giving her a wave

As soon as Coraline also peeked beside him, she nervously grinned

"Hi Mrs. Lovat, we were just- erm...the game just scared us.."

Mrs. Lovat sighed, smiling as she shook her head

Oh well, at least her grandson manage to keep up with his friends

"Children..." Mrs. Lovat chuckled and finally left without word, leaving the two kids stunned on their situation

Coraline pulled away the sheets, as they froze on the bed, trying to process of what just happened

turning all their heads to look at the screen, the display asked:

Do you wish to continue?

"Oh wow, so the jumpscare was supposed to happen?? Gee thanks..." Wybie frowned on how ridiculous they gad been, shaking his head in dismay and embarassment

Coraline laughed, petting the black cat beside them "I can't believe a game, scared the heck out of me..."

"Me either..." Wybie replied, grabbing a glass of water to calm himself

"But this is fun..." she added with a smile

This his wonder, Wybie blinked, looking unsurely at her

"You mean? Getting scared and all of us in danger?"

"No, I mean this, playing together you dork.." she corrected

"Ahhhh, I thought it was the other way around..." he chuckled, receving a small slap by the arm in the process

They giggled for a while before waiting for another to talk

"No seriously, thanks for asking me today, I wouldn't imagine what I'm doing right now if you didn't.." she told him, looking at the computer in silent

Wybie smiled and rolled his eyes as he watched the computer on his desk, reminiscing all their past adventures outside

"To be honest...me either, I mean, being yourself sometimes is fun but things like these? would rather spend some time doing this with someone...it's way more fun..." he added giving her small soft smile as he looked at her

They admit, neither of them can't.

Peering their eyes at the window, the sky had already grown dark, thunder slowling booming and growing closer

Her mom is right, the weather is going to be pretty rainy today

"Do you think...Mrs Jones wouldn't mind you staying until the rain stops?" Wybie asked whispering, eyes glued at the dark sky

"No...I don't think she would...Mom would rather see us here inside your home..." Coraline murmured

"Okay..." Wybie nodded understandably, pausing as his eyes squinted at the computer

His open mouth again as if there is he wanted to say

"But were are not going to finish the game today, okay?"

The two laughed as they grabbed the table again, pushing the material closer on the computer, horror games is enough for today....

And within the next few hours... the two ended up watching random videos on the device, eating their leftover pizzas and unopened snacks, just chilling on their seats while the cold weather and tripling droplets of rain poured, they enjoyed it, neither of them could describe why but their company, even at horrific times...

By the end, It just made feel at ease...
