Atlas in a Garden

Summary:

"Miss, may I have a moment of your day?" inquired a stranger.

She really couldn't care less about the man, her part time job awaiting. She sighed, tried for a bland smile, and replied, "Sorry, I have work."

Just one more hour and finally she would be escaping this hell and back to the dorms.

It was the end of her shift finally when the stranger interrupted her mundane routine again, “Miss, it really is important, may we talk in private? Have you ever heard of Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School? We really think you will a perfect fit for our school!” exclaimed the man with a disarming smile and cheer.

...

Oh! Oh no, what did he do this time…
Oh sweet spring child, what have you done?

Sakura was not leaving him alone, who knows what else the idiot might end up doing.
Gods knew he might just turn into a jinchuriki. He couldn't be trusted. And the other annoying pricks do not remind her of faraway lands, they don't.

Notes:

This is an indulgent fic with really slow updates. Will try my best. I will also be taking a lot of liberty with the power mechanics and theory. it will be a horrible mess, but here's to trying my best.

Sporadic updates, forewarned

Chapter 1: Adding manure to barren land

Chapter Text

First rodeo wasn’t so bad for Sakura. Sure, life wasn’t perfect, her husband was hardly ever home, her daughter resented her for being a busy single mum, her relationships with her precious people slowly became less personal and more professional with each passing day, another war broke out, so on and so forth…

But it wasn’t the worst. She had a very successful career as a medic and finally found worth in herself. Her boys saw her as an equal instead of someone to protect. The little Uchiha family she had made with the ashes and bones with an unhinged man; and successfully raise a normal child. Well, as normal as a ninja child was allowed to be.

It wasn’t perfect, but it was enough. Enough to not feel regret, wishing for a do over. It was enough, to rest for one last time with a smile on her face. Knowing, she did her best and even if she was leaving, others can handle it.

It was enough.

It was enough, but it still hurt that She was the first to leave. Not Kakashi; her roots. Not Susuke; her rock. Not Naruto; her sunshine. Thank the gods, not Sarada; her lifeline. Sakura was to leave first; maybe she was the weakest link.

Aaah, guess Sakura didn’t completely feel worthy.

Maybe I do have some grievances left.

And Sakura took her last breath in the Elemental nations.

Faraway, in another land a set of twins take their first breath of cold sterile air.

The mother was definitely not expecting the second child. They planned for the son, but the daughter was an anomaly. They didn’t much like anomalies, anomalies always ruined their plans.

This is unacceptable. Which one is the spare?!

The chance was too steep to eliminate one of them. Making a vessel was not something I wish to do again. Let them get attached, if one of the vermin get annoying, it will be succinctly discarded.

The mother took a calming breath, serene on the outside as if she wasn’t just plotting the death of her new-borns.

A nurse jubilantly congratulated the mum for a job well done, “Oh! The little ones were sneaky, weren’t they?! Big brother took his role very seriously, protecting the wee girl even from the womb.” She gently patted the angrily crying baby. “He is definitely a fighter, this one. Have you thought of names for them, Mummy?”

Mother couldn’t have been bothered with the conversation for one second longer. They had little care for what the cretins were called, as long as one were to be the Vessel, it hardly mattered. But there were roles to be played.

“Oh, I could never undertake such an important task. Jin-kun is the creative one. He must already know them.”

Gasping in alarm, they went on, “Does Jin-kun know? Does he know that we had a surprise within a surprise? Please, bring him here, he must know right away”. Oh, how it grated them to behave as such, but needs must.

The nurses were quick to bring in the husband. He was a gentle giant; taller than average men, angular face but the roundish spectacles gave his face a softer look. Pale pale hair, one might mistaken the pastel pink to be platinum blonde hair and beautiful pale green eyes. Itadori Jin, was a soft giant of a man.

The moment Jin’s eyes fell on his wife, he could only wonder how this wonderful being granted this feeble man’s wish; a child. He had eyes only for her, “Love, how are you? Everything alright?”

The nurses in the room coo, it’s not every day they saw a husband as concerned for their wife. It’s as though, he understands that the mother had achieved a Herculean task, and she should be celebrated as much as the miracle of a new birth.

The mother could barely disguise their disgust and smile, “I am fine dear, but it seems we had another surprise in store.”

“What do you mean? Is it the baby? Is he alright?” only then does Jin realise that the room was filled with mighty cries. Multiple cries. He abruptly turns to the voices and could only watch in wonder as twin paths of tear fell his eyes for his twin babies. Oh, what a beautiful surprise, another child. We have two!

“It seems Daddy finally deemed you two important,” joked one of the nurses holding the daughter. “We asked Mummy, but she wishes Daddy to have the honour of naming you.” Speaks the nurse to the baby and turns to ask, “Does he have anything planned?”  he places the precious bundle in the father’s arm. The child opens her eyes and locks startlingly blue eyes with her father.

Jin was speechless, this precious petal was his little daughter. He knew it wasn’t fairly creatively, alas he couldn’t think of any name but, “Sakura. Her name is to be Itadori Sakura.” Jin speaks softly as he gently jiggles the bundle.

“What a wonderful name, and for the warroir?”

Jin couldn’t stop his elation, his son. He has a son and a daughter. He is a father. Jin looks at his son and feels a sudden peace in his whole being and could only think of one name, “Yuji, Itadori Yuji. Our peace and precious petal.”

Jin couldn’t be any happier, his family was growing. He couldn’t wait to let his own father know. In his elation he, and the rest of the crowd in the room, missed the malicious smile on his wife. A triumphant smile of finally being able to advance their millennia years old plans.

Soon, the curses will run rampant with Sukuna finally returned to his throne. They couldn’t wait another moment.
