There’s always a world where Curt pulls the trigger, sending Owen’s body crumpling to the ground in an ungraceful heap. A world where Curt collapses, sobbing over his lost lover’s corpse, knowing it was his fault. A world where Tati drags him away hours later, tears in her own eyes.
But in this world, Owen never dies. He lives, and he smiles and oh, how he laughs. And because of that, Curt lives too.
Killing Owen killed himself, left nothing but a shell of the caring man he once was.
Owen brought joy, and left destruction, but Curt would do it all again just for a chance to reach the world where he never has to see the life leaving Owen’s eyes.
