Red lighted her cigarette and took a puff out of it.
The night sky twinkled above them, pretty stars scattered around the night sky as if someone blew them and made them go over the place. Over the universe.
A calm atmosphere settled around the girls. Red peacefully having her smoke and blossom looking up at the sky in awe as if it was her first time seeing it.
"They're so pretty, i don't think ill ever get sick of seeing them." The girl murmured, her red eyed girlfriend looking at her in acknowledgment. "Can't you just-- fly up there? Super powers and all that."
Blossom snorted, "Well yeah. But i don't know. I like it here better."
The autumn breeze ruffled through both of the red haired girls. Cars honks being heard from below the roof building they're currently on top on.
"Scarletts been wanting to come with us."
"We can take her next time? I don't mind!"
"Knowing her, she'll be rambling about the stars the whole time." Red blew a puff and sighed, though a fond smile was on her face at the thought of her littlest sister joining them. "Not against it though."
"Remember the time someone thought we were her mothers?"
"I blame her strawberry blonde hair." Red laughed, in fact, both of the girls laughed. Giggles falling off both of their lips.
"Gonna do anything for halloween?"
"Still down to match costumes?" Red asked.
"Red riding hood and her wolf?"
Red grinned, "I already brought my costume."
"It's razz that's throwing the party, right?"
The red eyed girl hummed in verification, getting up to step on her cigarette and put it out.
Both of the girls looked up at the sky to gaze upon the scattered stars that looked like glitter above once more.
(Red swore that blossom could rival their beauty.)
"Don't you have like-- a park around here? I wanna look at the trees."
"Because of their orange colors?"
The other girl nodded and tugged her jacket on her, the fur on the hood keeping her warm. "We can--"
The feeling of suddenly being driven up to the sky practically knocked the air out of reds lungs.
"What the fuck?!"
"You said you wanted to go to the park?" Blossom replied with a feigned innocent looking smile..
"Yeah but give a warning first?!" Red yelled, clinging herself onto her girlfriend while she stared down to the ground with an anxious breath. Even with the reassurance of her girlfriend saying she'll never drop her, it doesn't just make her fear of heights automatically disappear.
(Though blossoms perfume seemed to calm her down, even if its slight.)
Finally, much to reds relief, they arrived at Townsville park.
Its the first time shes seen this place, and even at night, the trees look amazing.
"It's not exactly new yorks national park but it'll do." Blossom joked light heartedly.
"It is still pretty." Red mumbled, looking in awe around her once she stabilized herself onto the floor.
"Walk?"
"Walk." Red nodded.
-0-
It's been what, twenty minutes?
Red doesn't know. She didn't keep track of the time.
(Time seems to slip from her grasp whenever blossoms with her.)
But honestly? They were in deep bliss.
Bliss is an understatement though. They're honestly just.. Satisfied with life in this very moment. They've found their happy place, they've found their happy person.
Red couldn't ask for more.
"I should really bring slash around here, i think he'd enjoy walking around here. Especially since its fall and its cool for him. Do they allow dogs?"
"No shit they're gonna allow dogs red, its a park."
"Just making sure, i got in one hell of trouble one time when i was twelve.."
Blossom tilted her head in curiosity, "Why?"
The red eyed girl mumbled under her breath.
"Red?"
"I accidentally took slash to a place where they didn't allow dogs and.. Ruined some couples wedding.."
Blossom paused.
A moment or two passed before snorts and laughter erupted from the pink eyed girls throat.
Red.. Red would usually feel embarrassed and ashamed at this. Fuck knows she got an earful from her elder brother and almost got her family sued but,
The girl can't help but smile and start joining her lover in laughing too, as if blossoms laugh had been contagious and got its grasp inside reds lungs.
"You-- You what?!" Blossom yelled in disbelief between chuckles.
The red eyed girl had to clear some of her laughter before responding, "I was still in the honeymoon phase with slash!"
"You got him when you were eleven! That would have been a year of having him as your dog already!"
"I guess im built differently."
A last snort came from blossom before the two girls started walking together again. Moonlight and street lamp light shining down on them.
Honestly, the fit of giggles coming back was expected.
Blossom apologized on laughing again through interruptions of little giggles and snorts, and red..
Red thinks shes the prettiest girl in the world.
A warm feeling arose onto the other girls chest at the sight of seeing her girlfriend so happy, even without hearing the full story of what happened, she was continuously laughing. As if red told her the funniest joke shes ever heard in her life.
God.
Reds lucky, isn't she?
Her smile is the prettiest in the world, even when blossom covers it with her hands. (Well, sort of. They both have nubs for hands but- fuck it, that's not the point and red will call them hands if she wants.)
Scarlet colored blush coated itself onto reds cheeks, along with a sweet and adoring smile.
She's the luckiest girl in the world.
"-ed? Red!"
The girl snapped out her trance when she realized blossom was calling her name, her phone ringtone blasting from her jackets pocket.
The girl fumbled through her pocket and got her phone, sighing when she saw who was calling.
"Ill call him back."
"Who is it?"
"Boss." Red hummed.
"He's gonna give you a hell of an earful when you go home."
Red snorted and put her phone on silent. "He'll be fine."
An amused smile twisted itself onto her girlfriends lips. "Your ringtone fits in this moment."
Red let out a little noise that urged blossom to explain her reasonings. And a curious grin and tilt of reds head with the girl next to her.
"Its October, we fell in love in october, we went star gazing for a little while.. We love fall.. You smoked on the roof.."
Red perked up in realization that all of what blossom said is true.
Yeah.. That did all happen.
"Huh. Didn't think of that.."
"You would have realized soon late at night probably."
"Yeah you're right i would have." Red replied with a small knowing grin. "You're really my girl huh?"
"Who elses?"
A lighthearted and upbeat facial expression lifted itself onto reds face, growing even wider when both of the girls' hands snapped against each other.
Happy and exhilarated looks were shared between the girls, both of them continuing their small night walk with their hands holding. Pink blush rushing onto their faces.
Red suddenly looked interestingly to her side and dragged blossom with her, the pink eyed girl lightly yelping in surprise when red suddenly started dragging her.
"Wha-- Red?"
"Look at this boulder." Red hummed.
Blossom blinked.
"Yeah?"
"My.. There's a tradition where im from where you place you and your lovers names on a rock for good luck. Especially with teen love."
Blossom beamed and looked at the rock, fairly big enough for them to both sit on if they wanted to. "Do you?"
"Yeah, i mean, if you want to?"
Blossom suddenly lasering their names onto the rock with her eyes was more than enough of a yes to red. (And thank god, since now they wouldn't have to go through the normal trouble of carving it themselves with a knife or something.)
Red stared at her name and blossoms on the rock with a pleased and awed look, before tilting her head.
Maybe they would have to go through the trouble of carving it themselves after all.
The red eyed girl grabbed her pocket knife and started carving words onto the rock.
Her girlfriend stayed behind and watched the words slowly become more and more visible and comprehensive.
'I'll love you forever, alright?' Was carved into it.
A small loving smile appeared onto blossoms face when red fully let her see with an excited and waiting expression.
The boulder was then scraped with different carvings of smiley faces and hearts. Along with 'R + B'
Small kisses and loving hugs were shared before each of the two girls parted their ways into their respective homes.
And reds still the luckiest girl in the world.
