Work Text:
Wind. A strong wind from the limitless horizon. The humidity in the air, the clash of waves against the cliffs.
She was holding her legs against her chest, closed on herself to resist the cold.
Someone put a warm blanket on her shoulders.
"Thought you might be freezing."
"Am not. But thank you." She stretched a hand towards him. "Sit next to me."
They sat together and looked at the sea, under the blanket. It seemed like being in a painting of Turner.
"So what do we now?"
The boy remained silent, and then: "I would prefer for you to stay here."
"I wanna come with you..." She said hiding her head in his embrace.
"It might be dangerous."
"I don't care as long as I am with you."
He kissed her tenderly on the forehead and turned again to the sea.
After the sun set, she said: "Now I am cold."
They returned home. It was a pretty cottage, perfect for the two of them. They had escaped before the party and retreated back to Europe. Saeran seemed to have fled before them, after his plan went wrong. And the organisation Seven worked for had various houses to be used in case of need all over the world.
The fire was lit, she put on a kettle for the tea. Saeyoung was looking into the flames. She went next to him and hugged him.
Someone knocked at the door. They were startled.
"Shh," Saeyoung said. "Lie on the floor".
He took something from under the sofa, and she saw a gun. She would have never imagined that.
He was now with his back against the wall, next to the door. The doorknob turned, but the door was closed from the inside.
"AGENT SEVEN, OPEN THE DOOR!"
Saeyoung sighed, and told her to stand up. He opened the door. An angry person, with arms crossed, was on the other side.
"Mary Vanderwood 3rd!" He smiled. "You really are a good agent after all! Did you like our little hide and seek game?"
"Stop it." Vanderwood entered and took a look around. He watched for a moment the girl in the room, then turned to Seven and saw the gun in his hand. "What's the meaning of this?"
"We on our honeymoon!" Saeyoung said, smiling.
Vanderwood sat on the sofa next to the fireplace and put one leg on the other. "They want you back."
"I can't."
"Then I must take care of things myself."
"What does this all mean?" She asked.
"He must be eliminated. He knows too many things." Vanderwood replied.
"No! No you can't! Saeyoung tell him..."
"You revealed your true name!?" Vanderwood roared.
Seven was pointing the gun to Vanderwood: "Leave at once."
She cried: "No, wait! There must be another way!"
"Stay out of this, girl." An impassible Vanderwood said.
"No! You... Come with us!" She replied. Both the men looked at her. "You are Saeyoung's friend, right? Come with us. Help us find his brother."
"Pfff. Silly girl." Vanderwood smiled.
The kettle hissed in the silence of the cottage. Vanderwood, still menaced by Seven's gun, stood up.
"Okay." He spoke.
"What!?"
"I leave the organization. Have with me few things that could help you."
"Whaaat!?"
"You heard me. They gave me a choice: killing you or being 'fired'. I went through your case. I choose neither of them."
"But... Why...?"
"Because we're friends, like she said."
She approached Vanderwood and kissed him on his cheek: "Thank you."
Vanderwood blushed.
Seven put down the gun, run to Vanderwood and licked him on the other cheek.
"YOU BASTARD STAY AWAY!" Vanderwood shouted while throwing a pillow to Seven who had taken cover.
They sat and had tea. Then Vanderwood looked at both of them and asked: "So, what's the plan?"
