Work Text:
Julie couldn’t say she wasn’t part of a beloved attraction.
She was part of the Backstage Magic attraction at CommuniCore, where she explained computers and the technological wonders they bring. A perfect arrangement - she loved computers!
She also had a sidekick, an excitable ball of energy named I/O - short for Input/Output. And he was a literal computer generated ball of energy. He couldn’t say much (or anything, really). But Julie loved having him as company.
Then, CommuniCore closed. And Backstage Magic closed with it.
The computers were left where they were as technology marched on, and EPCOT’s computers were decentralised from Computer Central.
Julie and I/O were left behind with what was left of the computers. Along with their predecessor, Earlie the Pearlie.
They formed a sort of family. They had to.
But it was hard never quite knowing what was going on in the outside world.
