Just A Regular FNF Mod Fanmade Expansions

Summary:

Original story by PhoenixSnilloc.

This is a set of ideas I have regarding her "Just A Regular FNF Mod" story that expand on who could fill in the other characters of the base game as well as the Newgrounds series within the game.

Notes:

(See the end of the work for other works inspired by this one.)

Chapter 1: Recap + Introduction

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The story of "Just A Regular FNF Mod" revolves around what appears to be a typical Friday Night Funkin' mod that promises an incredible experience. However, it's a trap laid by a mysterious entity named Downbeat. What he does is take the souls of those who play the mod and place them in characters that mirror them the most. As of now, he has 5 souls in his grasp.

  • First is Giles Fisher, first victim and currently in the form of Girlfriend, the partner.
  • Second is Bonnie Freeman, Giles' girlfriend and currently in the form of Boyfriend, the protagonist.
  • Third is Philip Phelps, Bonnie's ex-boyfriend, former gunman of Downbeat, and currently in the form of Pico, the replaced star of Newgrounds.
  • Fourth is Joseph Castle, Newgrounds expert and currently in the form of Tankman, the site's face.
  • And before them was Bobby Friedkin, who was the first victim and died.

Now the 4 of them have to beat Downbeat's game to get out. However, with the Internet spreading his trap, what if people connected to them fell into the entity's grasp too? This attempts to chronicle the hypothetical extra victims that can fit in the story and line up with what the base game is planning.

Notes:

Since this one is planned to include base game content and Newgrounds series, expect the following:
-FNF base game foes
-Major background and scrapped FNF characters
-The Pico series
-The TANKMEN series
-The Spooky Month series
-The Madness Combat series
-Ritz

Potential Additions:
-The Newgrounds Bots (A-Bot is being used by Nene as a seat in her leaked sprites)
-Alien Hominid (Made by Tom Fulp and has Pico elements)
-Eddsworld (and perhaps Crash Zoom by extension due to Kate and Tom in both webtoons) (Potential upcoming candidate due to a certain tweet from the EW team)
-Henry Stickmin (and probably Among Us by extension) (NinjaMuffin said that Henry has a 50/50 chance + his existing Week 5 cameo)
-Nightmare Cops, ZONE-Tan, Hellbenders, Girl-Chan in Paradise, Super Meat Boy, every single Week 5 cameo franchise except VOCALOID (All except VOCALOID fall under NG territory)
-Binding of Isaac, LUCKYBOY, and Contract Rush (BF and GF cameo in some of them, with BF being more common)
-Dad 'n Me (One of the few NG games to be sketched alongside BF)
-NG Rushdown Rivals and Rumble (Both Pico and Tankman are involved)

Chapter 2: A Concerned Friend

Chapter Text

One of Philip's friends, Derek Dynor noticed the disappearance of his friend at September 24. Looking for clues, he noticed the mod, and in an attempt to check its files, Downbeat takes him and places him in Darnell's body. Knowing that he is powerful with what just happened, Derek follows his rules to avoid consequences happening, but slowly, due to a strange entity working with his captor, he eventually became a full-time slave.

  • The quality that Derek and Darnell share is their intelligence as he built a dummy bomb that showers confetti when activated.
  • He helps his friends study up before tough tests.
  • Ironically, unlike Darnell, he fears fire, but Downbeat's mysterious partner makes him forget the fear when under their control.
  • In the Week 8 equivalent, he is freed from the partner's control and joins the heroes.
  • In real life, his hair is blond and somewhat long while his skin is light, a stark opposite of his ingame form.

Chapter 3: The Determined Spirit

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Nina Nylon didn't hear from Philip or even Derek for a week. Suspecting that they were kidnapped, her investigation attempts ended in failure. Feeling down, she decided to download the mod, and upon being sucked in, she was turned into Nene due to her fighting spirit. Noticing Downbeat holding Derek hostage, she attempts to attack, but the entity's mysterious partner placed her under their control immediately, scaring the hostage into obedience.

  • She took up karate classes as a kid.
  • Her initial investigations had her beating up who she suspected the most, which included school bullies.
  • Like Derek, she eventually gets freed in the same week where Nene appears and joins the heroes.
  • She has a hidden crush on Philip, and when she gets the chance, she tries to ask him out both in real life and in the game.
  • In real life, her hair is a natural red, is in a ponytail, and her skin has scars from training.

Notes:

The chromatics assigned to Nina are from Friday Night Shootin'.

Chapter 4: A Vengeful Partner

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Back then in their freshman year, Philip, Derek, and Nina had to contend with Cindy Coaler, the most influential bully in college, and also the most popular girl there. At first, Philip tried to give Cindy a few more chances, but when she attacked Bonnie, that was his breaking point, making him not give any chances. Fast forward to before Derek and Nina got sucked in, and Cindy encountered the mod. Upon opening it, Downbeat offered her an opportunity to work with him to get revenge. Accepting the deal, she was given the body of Cassandra due to her manipulative nature, and she was also given the power to control minds alongside her vessel's Penilian powers.

  • So far, the only victims she can mind control are those who are placed in vessels based off the Pico series.
  • Her real life appearance is similar to a typical college bully seen in 2000's movies.
  • Back to her mind control power, those who leave Downbeat's side cannot be controlled again. She once tried to seize control of Philip, but he broke free with the help of Bonnie, Giles, Derek, and Nina.
  • She's currently trying to reach her cousin and her gang so her partner will have more allies.
  • Unlike the real Cassandra, she has no plans to betray her gang or even Downbeat.

Notes:

Cindy's chromatics are from RamenNoodiles' mod.

Chapter 5: The Spooky Fans

Chapter Text

Downbeat's first victims weren't even Giles and Bonnie. Before them, his first two victims were a pair of pre-teens named Spike and Point. They were the first two people to encounter his mod, and upon being sucked in, Spike was turned into Skid due to his obliviousness while Point was turned into Pump due to his dark humor. When Downbeat attempted to challenge them, they toyed with him instead and got away in his world.

  • Both Spike and Point are fans of Sr. Pelo's Spooky Month series.
  • When watching it, they prefer to watch it on Newgrounds due to the scenes adding more to the next episode.
  • When both of them got away, Downbeat learned of their friends, enemies, and families, letting him design new Pelo-based vessels too.
  • Bonnie and Giles have to babysit them prior to their friends and families arriving in the future.
  • When their enemies arrived in the future, Philip, Derek, and Nina had to defend the duo.

Chapter 6: The Foul-Mouthed War Veteran

Chapter Text

Officer John, a police officer that used to be a soldier, was enlisted into the case of the "Funkin' Kidnapper". Apparently, the disappearances of Spike, Point, Giles, Bonnie, Philip, Derek, Nina, and Cindy weren't unnoticed. However, the officer's rash actions on suspects had him suspended. With a raging anger, he attempted to lash out on the case's mod, and when lightning struck, he vanished. Downbeat noticed his past and name and found it fitting to put the police officer in the body of the iconic Tankman himself. However, things went wrong in an attempt to lure him, and the soldier escaped.

  • John leads his own faction, regarding all others as the enemy, not knowing that many of the other characters are the victims.
  • He is 40 years old and he fought in the Afghanistan War.
  • He was considered one of the best military captains as he was able to increase effectiveness of what other soldiers do.
  • However, a fatal leg wound due to the above war forced him to use a limp and retire from the military.
  • Before Joseph Tanner was sucked in, John attempted a revolt using the Tankmen in the game world. However, it failed, and Downbeat's mysterious right-hand woman had his soul shot, destroying it permanently.

Chapter 7: The Ruthless Hunter

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Frank M. Nimbleton was a normal gun-for-hire against criminals. He worked to gun down the guilty effectively and silently. However, a mishap caused the police to chase him down when Captain John disappeared. A week later, he found the very mod that caused his name to be stained. Wanting to relax, he opened it, but Downbeat took him and placed him inside Hank. However, he figured out that the entity was the true culprit and escaped with a stockload of weapons due to looting the lair.

  • The "M" initial used to be a "J" for "Jenero", but his parents divorcing led to his middle name being changed out of his dad forcing him to.
  • Similar to the real Hank, he may use guns often, but he can use other objects as assassination weapons.
  • He's a fan of the Madness Combat series, so being turned into Hank gave him a sense of confidence as he was now the "Protagonist".
  • Instead of fighting his way back to the real world, he chose to stay so he can destroy Downbeat and prevent more victims from falling in.
  • However, he's quite gullible, which made him believe that Bonnie and Giles worked with the entity. After the first match, he still chose to work separate, only willing to work with his partners and girlfriend.

Notes:

Normally, Frank's chromatics are from Vs Online, but when angry, it becomes the Antipathy chroms.

Chapter 8: The Mellow DJ

Notes:

Crystal was originally deleted from this concept set due to the SoftDon thing, but now, she's restored as Lex Updog lied.

Chapter Text

Crystal Gynasty was your average night club DJ. Everyone loved her, but the one that loved her the most was Frank. When her boyfriend disappeared, she found out that he was an assassin, but refused to share anything, leading her to being watched by the police. Eventually, she ran out of tunes and decided to play the last thing that he downloaded. This led to her being sucked in and placed inside Cassette Girl. The moment she was sucked in, Frank was raiding one of Downbeat's small bases. This reunited the two of them.

  • One of her favorite things to do is remix Newgrounds tunes. By day, she works on original tunes for Spotify and YouTube.
  • Her real life appearance has brown curly hair, which contrasted with her vessel's straight black.
  • Once she became CG, she felt uncomfortable as the character is an android who can open her face like a tape player.
  • Frank helped her get comfortable in the game world by singing with her and listening to music.
  • She makes battle tunes and guide signals, which she plays with the tape player in her vessel's hat.

Chapter 9: An Ex's Rage

Chapter Text

Sera Spires was Giles' ex-girlfriend. The two of them broke up when she got too clingy and threathened other girls to stay away from him. Never moving on and seeing him dating Bonnie, she spiraled down into a chasm full of rage and anger, scaring everyone else off and giving her a princess-like complex. On the day both of them vanished, she celebrated Bonnie's disappearance, but was shocked upon noticing that Giles was gone too. Seeking answers, she encountered Downbeat, who she challenged and lost, leading to her soul being sucked in. Upon meeting the entity, she was transferred into the Senpai vessel, but due to her rage, something went wrong and the Senpai vessel began to fuse with the Spirit vessel as well, making her in control of two vessels.

  • Her real life appearance is dark skin with short hair and some muscles, indicating her tomboyish personality.
  • Normally, she uses the Senpai form, but when her rage is high, she transforms into the Spirit form.
  • Her Spirit form is different, as it now resembles her real world appearance's upper half, but red due to the vessel's data being corrupted from fusing.
  • While she acts normal around others, she's still obssessed with Giles and hates Bonnie.
  • Upon noticing the bgFreaks simping for her, she used them as her servants so she can be treated like royalty.

Chapter 10: The Entity's Right Hand

Chapter Text

Morgana Melody is a sensational movie star and fiancee of Danny Droop. Over the years, she grew tired of her ordinary life, Danny ignoring her, and more, making her want something new. One day, she encountered "Just a Regular FNF Mod" and met Downbeat, who was seeking any form of challenge after something went wrong a week ago. An entire playthrough later left the entity impressed with the skill of humans in video games. Wanting to help the entity, she offered to join him. Upon doing so, her soul was given Mommy Mearest's body, and she loved it. With Downbeat seeking more playmates, she proposed to help spread the mod to find more worthy playmates, and she had an idea on who to target first.

  • Her real life appearance has straight black hair and tanned skin, all at the age of 33.
  • Upon seeing Downbeat in his Daddy Dearest form, she fell in love with him.
  • Unlike the victims, she can leave the game and get her body back to avoid suspicions.
  • Unlike Mearest, she's a bad singer in real life.
  • With how she impressed him, Downbeat considers her a friend rather than just a partner.

Chapter 11: Fallen Star

Chapter Text

Danny Droop was a rock star who had to deal with the everyday stress of keeping up with the music industry, forcing him to ignore Morgana to maintain cash. Eventually, he broke down on stage, causing his life to go downhill. Upon arriving home, his fiancee guided him to their computer. As he sat down, he felt himself being pulled in, and for a split second, he saw her remove the engagement ring and put it back in its box. As he was sucked in, Downbeat learned that the most compatible body for a soul was one that matches it, and in this case, Danny matched Daddy Dearest the most. Seeing someone acquire a body similar to their favorite form was an insult to the entity, making him lock the soul away deep within the game.

  • His real life appearance had a muscular build and long brown hair.
  • Occasionally, Downbeat will bring him out to trick Bonnie and Giles into fighting the wrong guy.
  • Danny and Dearest are linked together by being rock stars that stopped, but their reasons were different.
  • Morgana sometimes visits him to taunt him further.
  • While locked away, he sometimes tries to write new songs to pass the time.

Chapter 12: Hero(ine)'s Sibling

Chapter Text

Riley Freeman is the little sister of Bonnie. She has a great interest towards platformer and run n' gun Newgrounds games such as Ritz, Fancy Pants, Super Meat Boy, Alien Hominid, and many more. With her older sister's disappearance, she initiated the reports to the police and even made Missing posters for each victim. One fateful day, she chanced upon Bonnie's computer, found the mod, and had her soul taken by Downbeat, who placed her inside a Ritz vessel. Not wanting the Frank incident to happen again due to the vessel's platforming power in Riley's case, he decided to play a round of the game with her vessel's namesake by placing her in a maze that consists of deathly platforming.

  • In real life, she has freckles and black hair.
  • She is 2 years younger than Bonnie and is adopted, which is why Ritz was the vessel her soul matches the most, alongside her habit of wearing a beanie and shades.
  • Although she likes the gameplay, she hates her vessel as the mouse NPCs in her maze often gave her unreasonable amounts of cheese to give to them to progress. But one thing she liked was being able to respawn as she often fell into spikes, but came back fine... at the cost of respawning next to the most recent mouse she talked to.
  • Unlike the actual Ritz, her vessel and the mice are human-sized, just about the same size as Boyfriend.
  • Upon being rescued by Bonnie and Giles, she just decided to stay with Spike and Point as she was traumatized by her platforming experience.

Chapter 13: Faulty Experiments

Notes:

Fun Fact: Phoeni canonized Neil in her story! With this, the origins of the other experiments are now updated.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Before he met Morgana, to give himself a challenge, Downbeat tried creating something that can challenge him without him being able to predict the result. He first started off by creating the vessels. Next were people. However, some of them such as the generic Tankmen, the Uberkids, the Grunts, the cult, human-sized rats, the BGFreaks, and the henchmen reacted only to certain characters. As a last resort, he tried creating artificial life. However, it went wrong and the finalized version named "Neil" broke out and rebelled due to hungering for souls, taking the other 4 experiments modeled after the unused monster designs

  • The pumpkin design is named Jack, the shark design is named Bite, the vine design is named Fruit, and the many-eye design is named Sharp.
  • Jack and Fruit focus on stealth, Bite is more offensive, and Sharp prefers studying an opponent.
  • In any instance where Neil faces off a soul, the Experiments hang around to hold spectators hostage and to kill the soul if they try to escape. If the soul didn't get eaten by Neil upon losing, they're the ones to have a meal.
  • Downbeat's victims after Danny and before Spike and Point weren't lucky, forcing the entity to intervene when needed nowadays.
  • As the 4 of them were unfinished, Neil raised them as his own.
  • Jack can make mushrooms and twigs grow out of his body while separating from the pumpkin and assuming a snake-like form. Bite can shift between a conventional shark form and a shark humanoid, Fruit can open his face like a flower, and Sharp knows camouflage.
  • The 5 of them play fair as they only team up if their victim has a teammate. They work together when cooking too. While Neil does most of the cooking, Sharp reads instructions, Jack and Fruit provide spices, and Bite tastes the food.

Notes:

As Monster lacks chromatics, here are the voices:
Neil - Same as normal Monster, but when with the homies, he speaks with Neil Ciceirega's voice.
Jack - Emphasis on the "s"
Bite - Akin to Mr. Shark from the Bad Guys
Fruit - A more convincing voice
Sharp - Professor-like

Chapter 14: Compilation of Headcanons (for PhoenixSnilloc's Just A Regular FNF Mod) and Trivia (for this fanmade expansion)

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Now that we got the base game's current and upcoming opponents integrated, it's headcanon time!

Headcanons regarding the original AU:

  • While Downbeat can change into any character, the ways to differentiate his disguised forms from a victim are his two-fingered hands, slightly shorter proportions, and the disguise's gray eyes, with his real head hidden in his mouth similar how to PS135 hides his real eye in his mouth. However, the Dearest form is even harder to differentiate from a victim as him preferring that form let him hide his features more out of using it multiple times.
  • After the events, all the victims gained features and souveniers based off their own vessels, which include the hair color as streaks along with bits of the hairstyle, the voice mixed with their own, the clothes worn in the game, some of the body features, etc. Bonnie gained blue streaks, some messed-up bangs, BF's outfits, and lost some of her long hair; Giles gained brown streaks, slightly longer locks, GF's outfits, and lost some of his large proportions while keeping his old strength; and Philip gained orange streaks, fixed-up hair, Pico's outfits, and lost the beard. Joseph got a copy of Captain John's outfit as well as a copy of a 2-disc Titanic movie.
  • When a victim is claimed, their body is sucked in along with their soul, making it harder for any evidence to be found by even the greatest of detectives.
  • The only mods Downbeat allows in his own mod are those related to the base game, Newgrounds, and original characters. Copyrighted properties and OCs related to said properties are a definite "no" for him as he does not want to risk his world being taken down. With that, one of his favorites is Vs. Online.
  • This coexists with other creepypastas that involve an entity inside a game. Hypothetical scenarios include Downbeat and MX comparing their Boyfriend forms, Bonnie meeting Sarah, Giles bumping into Herobrine, and Philip fighting Charon.
  • The voices of a victim can alternate between their real voice and their vessel's voice, which they can switch in between willingly. Bonnie and Giles have access to the voices of BF and GF respectively from FNF the Musical alongside the ones from the Vs. Sunday intro while Philip can access a voice similar to Pico's from Vs. Bear DX.
  • Downbeat himself is a big fan of RecD and watches the musical videos.
  • When it comes to the game, Downbeat hates cheating. Upon pressing 7 or activating Botplay, he instantly takes the cheater's soul. As for him, he makes sure that his game is challenging, but fair.

Trivia on the expansion:

  • Riley used to be a part-time babysitter, hence another reason why she chose to stay with Spike and Point.
  • As for Spike and Point, the Spooky Month ability is within them, but the chances of it working are better when it's either night or during October.
  • Cindy's chihuahua eventually encountered the mod, and when it got sucked in, it was turned into the Magyar from UFA, reuniting them with their owner.
  • Morgana's attempts to woo Downbeat tend to end in failure, but when they work, she celebrates to herself.
  • Aside from 'My Bitch-Ass Wife Left Me For A Video Game", some of Danny's other songs include "Mistaken For That Monster" and "Lemons Are Dangerous".
  • John eventually liked his Tankman form as it let him be a top-grade soldier once again.
  • On the changes, Derek gained black streaks, a mohawk-esque style, Darnell's outfits, and lost some lightness; Nina got black streaks too, curled-up hair, Nene's outfits, and lost the scars; Spike and point gained features that are akin to Skid and Pump without the costumes as well as duplicates of their outfits; John remained mostly the same, except he got Tankman's suit and his leg was healed; Frank acquired Hank's outfits and weapons along with a gray set of streaks, Crystal gained black streaks, less curly hair, and CG's wardrobe, Danny got purple streaks, a curled top, Daddy Dearest's outfits, and gained more muscle; and Riley gained gray streaks, a Ritz cosplay costume, and lost some freckles.
  • After her partnership with Downbeat, Morgana's real-world appearance now included brown streaks, frazzled hair, Mommy Mearest's outfits, and lose a lot of black in her hair, giving the appearance of black streaks own brown hair.
  • Postgame, Cindy would have red streaks, horn-like hair, Cassandra's outfits, and her hands would look older while Sera would get orange streaks, anime-like bangs, Senpai's uniform, and lose her locks.
  • After creating the Ritz maze, Downbeat decided to create even more Newgrounds-based gameplay styles like Pico's School, Madness Project Nexus, Alien Hominid, Dad 'n' Me, Fancy Pants, and many more all to accompany his signature Friday Night Funkin' style.

Notes:

And there we go, got the headcanons and trivia out of the way. Next up would be unused base game stuff, Newgrounds properties that have a shot of getting in the base game, and mod OCs that are not tied to an established property in any form except those that started in Newgrounds.

Chapter 15: Background Stalked

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

While there are vessels and anomalies based off Friday Night Funkin's used and known characters, they also extend to unused content, background characters, and the source material of the guests. One such instance was the unused sketches of stalker girls. With the lack of personality for them, Downbeat looked at mods that incorporated them to design the vessels well. His main inspirations were Flip Side, Vs. Nekofreak, and Baddies.

One day, college student Minos Allore locked himself in his room out of fear of death. Trying to prevent others from falling victim to the mysterious person behind Bonnie's disappearance, he decided to open up her computer to find out what's going on. As he searched, Downbeat offered him the chance to see his friend. Accepting, he was sucked in and turned into one of the two vessels he made. In that form, he searches for his best friend while avoiding dangers.

The next day, Morko Cratzon encountered the open computer. Upon investigating, he chanced upon the mod and was sucked in. With that, he was placed in the other vessel. Upon finding his predicament, he found out that he can fulfill his twisted fantasy of killing as he will never run out of victims and that he can have Bonnie to himself.

Minos Trivia:

  • Minos' vessel is based off Mia from the Vs. Nekofreak mod because he underwent drug rehabilitation for a year.
  • In Downbeat's world, he's scared of the danger everywhere and tends to hide in a corner in his vessel's sweater.
  • Upon meeting Bonnie and Giles again, he chose to babysit Riley, Spike, and Point since he had enough of being alone and wanted warm hugs.
  • In his spare time in both the real world and the game, he teaches kids to stay off drugs.
  • His real world appearance has light skin, red eyes, and black hair.

Morko Trivia:

  • Morko's vessel is a mix of Moe (Flip Side), Lia (Vs. Nekofreak), and Stephanie Crawford (Baddies) due to his deadly obssession with Bonnie and killing others.
  • His enemies in the real world were Noelle Cynsa and Jace Coil as they often stop his attempts to kill.
  • He's fond of cats, and he's accompanied by one that acts as a spy.
  • His vessel is mostly leaning to Moe with a bit of Lia thrown in, but when pushed, the Stephanie side activates.
  • His real world appearance has pale skin, purple eyes, and brown hair.

Extra:

  • Downbeat flat-out refuses to make a Kia vessel because the mod version of the character is linked to the UI Shaggy meme, which he considers stupid.
  • The cat that accompanies Morko was created out of his childhood memories of having a kitten.

Notes:

Update: Chapter notes will be used to list down what chromatics a character uses if their vessel lacks an official one as of the moment and has multiple ones. Here, Morko uses Moe's vocals from Flip Side.

Chapter 16: Groovy Sentience

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

In Downbeat's search in other mods, he was able to use mods that closely relate to the base game and Newgrounds as templates for making his world more alive. On this, he was able to take code from Flip-Side and HD as well as use scrapped stuff to create special variations of the henchmen. They were intended to be his fodder when in Dearest form. However, 6 of them ended up carrying their programming from their original versions and gained consciousnesses of their own when they learned about what they truly are. Fearing an endless cycle of death and wanting fun without having to torture others, they ended up running away and starting a travelling troupe of their own called "Dumb Hexengee".

  • The one from FNF Flip-Side is named Carl; the ones from FNF HD are Miles, Alan, Bobby, and Buker; and the one based off the unused design is named Alpha.
  • Carl has a talent with singing, but is poor with dancing unless he sings. Miles, Alan, Bobby, and Buker are skilled with dancing, but can't sing unless they sing in beeps. Alpha acts as the manager and the driver.
  • Crystal is fascinated by their performance and synergy, even attempting to put a spin to their tracks with their permission. They even visit Danny, who inspire him with less negative ideas for songs.
  • The 6 of them stole the main limo. Morgana's week was her hijacking their chill time with Bonnie and Giles while Downbeat drove the other limo.
  • After Downbeat's downfall, the troupe end up becoming the new managers of the mod, wherein they use the experiences of all the victims to make the mod full of content while staying true to being a Newgrounds game, and they stopped the theft of souls, even replacing the anti-cheat way with an immediate game crash if 7 is pressed.

Notes:

On this, Carl has the same voice as Carlos while Alpha has the same voice as RecD's driver henchman. Miles, Alan, Bobby, and Buker have text-to-speech voices.

Chapter 17: The Trapped Creator and the Princess' Friends

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Sam Marlon was the original creator of Just A Regular FNF Mod, with the intention to create the greatest FNF mod in all of existence. However, life got busy for him, forcing him to abandon the mod. One night, a thunderstorm happened, and his computer crashed. Upon rebooting, nothing seemed to have happened, but corrupt data was hidden, and over time, it gave Downbeat an opportunity to claim the mod as a domain of his own after drifting around the Internet with no specific base after the elimination of Bobby. A week after Riley was trapped, Sam was looking at... files when he noticed that the creator of the missing posters went missing herself. Attempting to find out why, he traced the cases back to his accursed mod. As he tried to study it, Downbeat took him into his twisted creation and placed him inside the Mall Santa.

Meanwhile, Blake and Francis were Sera's best friends and were searching for her a month after she vanished. Attempting to find her, they encountered recorded footage of her in the game. Curious, they opened it and were turned into 2 Background Freaks, namedly the unused ones from the Flip-Side mod.

Sam Trivia:

  • Both him and the Mall Santa are huge pervs.
  • Aside from being a pervert, he was placed in his vessel to trap him in the void repeatedly as torture as he tried to take back his own mod.
  • While in the void, he became friends with Danny over time.
  • Being shot repeatedly gave him a traumatic trigger in the form of Christmas.
  • His real life appearance has orange hair and an impresive beard.

Blake and Francis Trivia:

  • Blake possesses the orange-haired Flip-Side BGFreak while Francis was turned into the black-haired one from the same mod.
  • Blake acted as a brother towards Sera while Francis had a crush on her. In fact, the former tried to set his friend up with dates with the latter.
  • On appearances, Blake's real life appearance had black hair, red eyes, and glasses while Francis had brown hair, black eyes, and a pendant.
  • Sera found them when she found that some of the freaks weren't following her commands.
  • Before the incident that made her spiral down, the 3 of them bonded over visual novels.

Notes:

Sam's chroms are the same as Mii Matt's.

Blake's chroms is the same as Veronica Sawyer's while Francis' is the same as Heather Chandler's, both chromatics coming from bbpanzu's Heathers mod.

Chapter 18: ERR_BF_GF

Notes:

This concept was one that PhoenixSnilloc made, except it was only BF that survived. The add-on expands the concept a bit more and adds GF in as FNF's main couple had pixel variations.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

When the characters of the game met Downbeat, they were killed and turned into nothing but soulless vessels. Strangely, Boyfriend and Girlfriend somehow survived, but were unable to move and feeling really hollow. Month after month, they saw old friends be occupied by someone new, only to be erased. One day, a loud guitar sound woke them up, and they saw themselves moving, but not of their own will. It seems as if someone else were controlling them. After a few days of struggling, they found out who was piloting their bodies: Bonnie for BF and Giles for GF. It took them a few weeks, but eventually, the two couples got along and worked together.

  • Only Bonnie and Giles can see BF and GF, who manifest as their pixel forms. When they're invisible or are residing inside the vessels, they are akin to voices in their heads. Downbeat is able to see them too, and when they're invisible to Bonnie and Giles, he sees them behind the vessels.
  • The game couple taught the soul couple how to play the roles perfectly down to mannerisms and behavior. This aided in fooling some of Downbeat's forces more. They even taught them on how to access hidden abilities like attacking with the mic and demonic powers.
  • Occasionally, they can get control of their bodies again, with it being easier if Bonnie and Giles are sleeping. This led to the souls waking up with sore bodies and recordings of them taking walks and making out. Sometimes, Bonnie and Giles let BF and GF control the bodies willingly, with the signs of who's in control being their eyes. Occasionally, when both are in control, one eye is of BF or GF and the other is whoever is in the vessel.
  • The two of them found that the codes of most other characters were mostly missing. The codes of Pico, Darnell, Nene, Cassandra, the Punks, and the Ghettobots were still present, but were too corrupted to survive after Downbeat's initial attack. Sometimes, when Philip and co. are close, they can hear gunshots and footsteps similar to that of their glitched friends and foes even when they do not have their weapons at hand.
  • After the events of the story, they ended up living in the heads of Bonnie (for Boyfriend) and Giles (for Girlfriend), acting as second personalities and even aiding them to stay in character when the couple decides to spend some spare time as the characters they inhabited in the game.

Notes:

The corrupted codes of the Pico cast are a reference to how Pico's School and Pico 2 were in the Kickstarter goals, yet were unreached.

Chapter 19: Pico.fla has been corrupted.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

When Downbeat corrupted the world, Pico and co. had to join forces with their sworn enemies. Alas, they were damaged beyond repair. When Philip entered the game, whatever was left of Pico's code somehow awakened. With stray code from the entity and his broken Flash file reviving him, there is nothing left of him but a vengeful beast who seeks to get his body back at any cost.

  • Each time a Pico character vessel is filled, the matching character is reborn as a beast. Derek's presence awakened Darnell, Nina's awakened Nene, Cindy's awakened Cassandra, and so on. Same applies with the Goth Punks and Ghettobots.
  • Each character is disfigured in a way that mirrors how they died in some of the original entries. Pico's torso has a bleeding gunshot wound, Darnell has burns all over his body and has the upper half of his head separated, Nene's is a mix of her different deaths in Interactive Suicide, and Cassandra and the Punks bear resemblances to how they were killed in the original game.
  • Unlike the others, the Ghettobots were fused together into one robotic amalgam akin to Freaktale.
  • The only target they seek is whoever inhabits their past lives. Cindy can only gain partial control due to the files being too corrupted to be stable.
  • In Downbeat's downfall, the cast died with him as the bits of his code in them were vanishing, causing their files to be erased.

Notes:

Initially, the Pico vessels would have the OG characters talking to the inhabitants of their bodies too, but this was scrapped to make it unique to Bonnie and Giles. The idea to make them corrupted beasts came from how the Kickstarter goal to remake Pico's School and finish Pico 2 was never reached, with that also being why the chapter name is "Pico.fla".

Chapter 20: A Burning Cousin

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Olly Phelps was searching for his cousin Philip and his friends. Over a month has passed, making him grow concerned. As he sifted through the computer, he encountered the mod and as he played it, he saw Pico staring at him. Curious, he pressed 7, causing him to be sucked in and turned into Otis due to his weak will under pressure. However, that moment was when Derek and Nina were freed from control, letting the gang take him before Cindy could do anything.

  • Just like Otis, he was a terrorist hostage back then.
  • He's practically the spitting image of Philip, except his hair is a natural red and is 2 years younger.
  • He carries a shotgun as he felt it was better than two handguns.
  • Prefers only the chips in fish and chips.
  • In the game, Derek had a special shooting range built so the Phelps cousins can practice their gunman skills.

Chromatics - FNF School Grounds Otis.

Chapter 21: Main Weeks, Voices, Headcanons, Trivia, and B-Sides (Not in that order)

Notes:

This one is my answer to PhoenixSnilloc's 2 questions. After this, I shall deal with background characters and other characters from each guest's source material.

Chapter Text

Edit: Phoeni revealed the actual voices of her characters. At this, the real voices are being changed to match those.

Headcanons:

  • Sometimes, Bonnie's hair color changes depending on her mood. When shy, it turns pink akin to a beta design. When excited, it glows akin to some of the Erect Mode art.
  • The only time Downbeat turns into a player character is when he simply wants to fuck around with others. (Based off PhoenixSnilloc mentioning that he chooses to select opponent-only characters in battle)
  • Speaking of the disguises, Downbeat can shed the skinsuit he used and it becomes an entity of its own for him to puppet.

Trivia:

  • Cindy's Penillian form is a mix between the original and the Ramen Noodiles versions.
  • Postgame, Philip and Nina did get together. This made Derek happy as it fulfilled his dream of being a wingman to either of his friends.
  • Postgame, Frank's name is finally cleared.
  • Postgame, the victims (and BF and GF) can return to the mod world whenever they want. In the case of Bonnie and Giles, sometimes, they let BF and GF live their lives while they take a vacation in the game world. This links to the 10-week epilogue. Plus, they taught them on how to live as them down to mannerisms and behavior to avoid suspicions when those two are given control of the bodies in the real world.
  • After the game, Danny took the songs he composed in the void and used them to rise back to the top of the charts of music while Morgana got arrested for being involved with the incident.
  • Due to the fusion of vessels, in rare cases, Sera can accidentally cause the Specter voice to be used instead of the Tamaki voice in Senpai form. This is most notable when she's angry. The same occurs in Spirit form, except her real voice overrides the Specter one in this case.

B-Sides:

  • When experimenting with new styles, Downbeat attempted to start simple, making him go for B-Sides as his first choice. Let's just say everyone else was shocked when they woke up and found the change, and the sudden return to the normal style after a week confusing them.
  • Upon meeting Philip, everyone ended up thinking that a new soul got sucked in at first, only to realize the truth as his vessel happened to look like Otis in that style. Same happened with Joseph as his design fused the two warring Tankman sides.
  • In B-Sides, Bonnie feeling down causes her hair to turn blue, a reversal of what happens in the normal style.
  • Downbeat also infused aspects of B Rebooted into this style. Examples include Bonnie's vest having a hood, Giles wearing a shoulderless dress, Philip having spiky and roundish hair, and Downbeat having a shirt and horns in his hair while in Dearest form.
  • Derek and Nina end up referencing the Commissioner (Vs. Bear) and Erica (Sim Date 2) respectively. Cindy references Convict.
  • Morgana is subject to the same theming as Danny, Blake has the same theming as Sera, and Francis has green hair.
  • Frank's color is changed to reference Tricky along with a mask replacing goggles, Crystal references the CG Week GF seen in FNF Baddies, and Riley has white fur and a Hominid costume. Minos and Morko swap colors and clothing styles in this style.

Main Weeks: (All the weeks follow the same order as the base game for the most part. In this case, it's set after the original JARFNFM WeekEnd 1.)

  • Tutorial - After Bonnie and Giles do Tutorial, BF and GF sing Test, Ridge, and Smash with them afterwards.
  • Week 1 - Same as normal, except losing would have a random chance of sending Bonnie and Giles to the void to meet Danny and sing "My Bitch-Ass Wife Left Me For A Video Game".
  • Week 2 - Same as normal, except the Experiments can be seen in the window. Bonus song is Spooky Night Funkin's rendition of Scary Swings. Monster has most of them watch while Neil performs. Losing too many times has Downbeat interrupt Neil's attempt to take Bonnie's soul, allowing more retries, with this particular feature occuring in any song featuring an Experiment. Bonnie and Giles are dressed as Dearest and Mearest respectively.
  • Week 3 - Minos begins the week with a remix of Left Swipe. Afterwards, Pico and Philly has Philip use HD's bullet gimmick. Blammed has him stop using the gun upon learning the truth. Bonnie and Giles also wear the Kickstarter accessories and for most of the week, Minos hides behind the speakers.
  • Week 4 - Carl performs Refresher as the first song. Afterwards, Morgana hijacks the chill vibe and the rest plays out like normal Week 4, except Carl and Alpha chime in with their own freestyles.
  • Week 5 - Song 1 is fluffyhairs' remaster of bbpanzu's Holiday, with Bonnie and Giles wearing the winter clothes from PhantomArcade's 3-20 doodle over their Christmas outfits for only that song. In Cocoa and Eggnog, Sam sings alongside Bonnie (as long as she hasn't died yet) to support her and try to escape the loop of being shot while Giles does the same to mirror Downbeat and Morgana taking turns, with Eggnog having the couple do the Week 7 carry early. A Rolus plush is on the speakers.
  • Week 6 - In Senpai and Roses, the school is a mix between its current and unused designs. Before Thorns, Blake and Francis take over for the third song, which is a remix of bbpanzu's Candy, with Sera joining in at random. Bonnie and Giles are dressed to fit Hating Simulator.
  • Week 7 - Steve and Skittles are missing from the scenery while the Tankmen act more robotic but still passable enough to look alive. Derek and Nina join Philip in the Tankman slaughter, bringing Joseph to tears with how his favorite web series was ruined.
  • WeekEnd 1 - This one is set before Week 7. The tracks in this are a mix of the leaked Darnell week tracks and the Girls' Night Out tracks. Afterwards, the battle against Cindy has a song that combines all the Ramen Noodiles Cassandra tracks together.

  • The corrupted Pico cast - Same as Philip, Derek, Nina, and Cindy, except more corrupted.

Chapter 22: The Queen's Gang-bit

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Before being sucked into the mod, Cindy didn't act alone. She had a troupe of her own called the "Gang-bits". Led by her and her cousin Dylan, the members of this crew were Alex Acorle, Omar Acorle, Cody Clamps, Cade Clamps, and Hal Zoeway. After facing a good number of resistance from Philip and co., she decided to call in her cousin and their old gang for help. Dylan was the first and he took the form of Damien. For the others, Alex took the form of Alucard, Omar became Ozmose, Cody became Cyclops, Cade became his cousin's vessel's cousin, and Han became Hanzou. The 6 of them were happy to be reunited with her.

Dylan Trivia:

  • Unike Damien, he plans ahead to avoid failure.
  • His appearance is akin to that of a typical football player.
  • While Cindy can gain control of Pico vessels, he can control Pico NPCs.
  • He's a year younger than his cousin.
  • Upon entry, he sent out the signal to the rest of the Gang-bits.

Alex Trivia:

  • The interlink between him and Alucard is that both of them were mistreated by their parents.
  • As for Omar, he's quite protective of his cousin.
  • Unlike the others, his vessel has no differences from the original.
  • One of his favorite moves to do is to stop bullets in mid-air Matrix-style while his cousin prefers piloting bullets with telekinesis.

Cody Trivia:

  • The link is that he was a victim of bullying, like LCA Cyclops.
  • As for Cade, he's quite overconfident in what he does.
  • HIs vessel is more akin to the version from Pico Sim Date 2, with longer hair in place of the mohawk.
  • He chooses not to wear the eye patch and contacts as he wants to see natural eyes.

Hal Trivia:

  • Like the character he's currently in, he goes for style over substance.
  • His vessel resembles the Hanzou seen in Pico's Cousin 2 due to a red ninja outfit.
  • To practice, he plays a game of Fruit Ninja with the food he and the gang eats.
  • His own cousin Tyler is against the gang, down to protesting and spying on them for evidence.

Other:

  • Behind Downbeat's back, the gang wants to bring pain to Philip, Derek, and Nina; so they captured the rest of the Phelps, the Dynors, and the Nylons, trapping them in the vessels of various relatives of Pico, Darnell and Nene. Tyler himself ended up getting trapped in the vessel of Timmy from Pico 2.
  • For those newcomers, oblivious to what the gang did and excited to play with non-appearing characters related to a guest franchise that officially appeared in FNF, Downbeat plays with them different tracks he found on the Internet.

Notes:

Chromatics and Voice Time!
Dylan - School Grounds Cassandra
Alex - Shootin' Alucard
Cody - Wrath of the Goth Punks Cyclops
Hal - Funky School Hanzou
Omar - Funky School Alucard
Cade - School Grounds Cyclops

Chapter 23: Another Entity

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

With some souls evading Downbeat and the Experiments, those very souls met a far worse fate for occasionally, another entity is in the game. Very few have survived for Downbeat himself to gather information about that stranger. What's known of him is that he has a gray skull, imposing figure, and the ability to change his shape. Those who meet him know his name: Warden.

  • This entity was born from the result of an iPad with Strike Force Heroes Extraction suddenly crashing in the middle of a watch. The corrupted data ended up meshing Convict's Flash file from Newgrounds Rumble and his code from SFHE together, bringing him to life.
  • He hides deep within the code of Newgrounds Rumble. Those who attempt to force a Flash file load without proper emulation make the game unstable enough for him to take their souls for his torturous fun. He even poses as other users and uses comments on how to play NG Rumble without the NG Flash Player.
  • In his twisted game, he kills and revives souls repeatedly to satisfy his twisted desires.
  • Once he learned about another entity hidden within Friday Night Funkin' that takes souls in a much easier way, he decided to have two games at his disposal.
  • Similar to the real Convict, he can change shape to any NG character or even a soul, but is unable to fully copy a character unless he kills them. In an incomplete form, his hair is black and he has white eyes. Any item he holds is simply materialized out of stray code.
  • His transformations are much darker as bone, flesh, organs, and blood can be seen each time he transforms. While it doesn't hurt him, he chooses to do it this way to scare his victims.
  • Each time a new victim is found, he greets them in his shoddy disguise based off them to lure them closer out of curiousity.
  • Strangely enough, when he copies souls, he is able to do so perfectly. He can even take the forms of victims who permanently died in JARFNFM, even if Downbeat killed them or if they were eaten by an Experiment.
  • Whoever he kills, those without a soul just fade away and respawn, but those who have a soul and are killed by him ingame are sent to a mysterious void where they are chained. The chains themselves scan their prisoners, allowing Warden to fully copy their forms. Over time, he can copy forms fully even without a prisoner, as seen when he takes the form of any character that appeared in Rumble.
  • Underneath the suit that NG Rumble Convict wears, Warden has the original Convict's skin.
  • His main goal is to dethrone Downbeat and take the throne so he can have a kingdom of hellish suffering that spans between two games.
  • The one thing he fears is Nene due to the original animation. Due to this, he targets anyone who looks like her first.

Notes:

Warden's fear is an intentional reference to Princess Ellis/Meeting Neither's headcanon of the real Convict being scared of Nene.

His chroms are from the Vs. Convict mod, and his real voice is akin to Mephiles due to his nature being more sick and twisted than Downbeat's. Any disguised voices are deeper and off-tone.

Chapter 24: Likely Rivals

Notes:

Happy 3rd Anniversary to Friday Night Funkin'! To commemorate, here are a special set of victims from a certain YouTube channel.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Before being sucked into the mod, Bonnie and Giles were voted as the cutest couple in college. This angered Plitvice Garner and Patrick Torq, previous cutest couple. Ever since, they tried to upset the duo to make them break up, but it failed. On their disappearance, they were happy as they became cutest couple again. However, out of boredom, they downloaded a mod and ruined the assets. This angered Downbeat, who took them into his domain after undoing all changes. Out of spite, he created vessels of Player and Partner, trapping in his most hated victims due to his hatred for GameToons combined with what they did.

Trivia for Both of them:

  • Their real-world appearances are the opposite of Bonnie and Giles, with Plitvice having the blonde hair and blue eyes and Patrick having the black hair and green eyes.
  • Out of anger from seeing someone vandalize his mod, Downbeat threatened to put them in the worst difficulty on loop, but this was during the events of Cindy attempting to control Philip. This distracted him, letting them escape.
  • Philip and Joseph hate them. The former sees them as threats to his friends, especially with their forms while the latter sees GameToons and what they did to FNF as a mockery to Newgrounds content. Boyfriend and Girlfriend hate them as well for the same reasons as Joseph.
  • These two were the first to see Downbeat with black eyes as well as him in his "DX" form.
  • Despite their attempts, they still cannot beat their self-proclaimed "rivals".

Plitvice Trivia:

  • Similar to Player, she tends to be way too headstrong, not even thinking first.
  • Unlike the actual Player, her vessel has brown hair with blue streaks and both the P and prohibition sign are mixed. The beanie has a bit of the classic BF cap as well.
  • One of her favorite pranks is sneaking rubber mice into Bonnie's backpack.
  • Her hobby is painting... on public property.
  • She tends to spread gossip to other victims by using txt files right under Bonnie's nose.

Patrick Trivia:

  • Like Partner, he can get quite bratty when it comes to other people.
  • His vessel appears to be the old FNFL GF design, except his dress is a mix between red and the original pale.
  • He tends to try and wreck whatever Giles composed.
  • His own hobby is being a critic to put down others.
  • He tends to convince really gullible people to do whatever he wants through his brattiness.

Notes:

The vessel voices of Plitvice and Patrick are the same as the real Player and Partner. For chromatics, the former uses the FNFL Mod Player chromatics while the latter uses a new chromatic based off his vessel's lines.

I personally have a headcanon that when Downbeat is really angry in Dearest form, his appearance shifts to his beta design, back when he was named "DX" by PhoenixSnilloc.

Chapter 25: Brothers in (lack of) Arms

Notes:

This was made for Madness Day 2023. Next chapter goes back to the Pico series victims.

Chapter Text

Jan Mord and Ramos Flark were Frank's partners in assassination. When Crystal vanished, Cam Ashlar accused them as he believed that they and Frank were involved with the incident. As they were now on the run, they took refuge in a safehouse. Recalling that the last thing their partner was doing was playing a mod, they downloaded the same mod to try and investigate and were taken into the game world. Jan was placed inside Sanford while Ramos took the form of Deimos. After they accidentally took a wrong turn into an unfinished version of Madness Nevada, they bumped into Frank and Crystal, reuniting the assassin with his partners as well as the pair with their childhood friend.

Jan Trivia:

  • Like Sanford, his weapon of choice is a hook attached to a rope.
  • His vessel made him feel a bit weird over having no arms and legs.
  • Often times, he tries to find a back door to get out, even using his vessel's hook to climb walls.
  • He's quite discerning, aiding Frank in surveying suspects.
  • In the real world, he wears glasses and black combed hair.

Ramos Trivia:

  • Like Deimos, his own weapon of choice is any big gun.
  • He was shocked over his form having a stone jaw.
  • He is curious about the world he is in now, down to exploring.
  • He often tends to care for weapon quality, ensuring that they're in perfect condition.
  • In the real world, he has a ton of callouses from weightlifting (to handle the big guns) and has blonde unkempt hair.

Both:

  • None of them know anything about Madness Combat.
  • Both of them make jokes about when Frank will pop the question, down to calling themselves the groomsmen.

Chapter 26: Funky Fresh Changes: Fanmade Expansions

Notes:

Original Funky Fresh Changes is a collab between PhoenixSnilloc and FridayNightFangirl.

I Was A Middle-Age Weretoon is by horologiium.

Chapter Text

Funky Fresh Changes Headcanons:

  • With Downbeat destroyed, bits of his code spread to all the characters, bringing them to life.
  • Pico, Darnell, and Nene ended up breaking out into the real world to try and find BF and GF. Out of curiosity, Tankman, Steve, Luckyboy, and Brooke end up in the real world too.
  • In their werecreature forms, Bonnie's and Giles' hair alternates between "Friday Night at the Pizza Tower" colors and the base game colors.
  • Giles himself has his skin turn from purple to normal when not using his demon powers.
  • Bonnie ends up having angel-esque features if she focuses too much.
  • Morgana tries to continue Downbeat's legacy, but she was trapped into the void.
  • Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest were desperate to find their daughter, down to even hiring Hank, Cassette Girl, just about anyone.
  • Ritz became lonelier and would have gone feral had Spike, Point, Skid, and Pump not found him.
  • Frank, Crystal, Jan, and Ramos were tasked to search for the trio as Captain John was an accidental victim in the attempt of Pico, Darnell, and Nene stopping a group of terrorists.

I Was a Middle-Age Weretoon Headcanons: (Due to the FFC crossover thing)

  • Even before being tooned, the cast came from the Pizza Tower game, wherein a strange surge gone wrong ends up sending the characters into the real world, turning them to normal and rewriting their memories to believe that they were real the whole time.
  • On the surge, another copy of the game with the Peppina Ramen mod, Antonblast, Celeste, and Annalynn were also affected, leading to the same effects on their characters.
  • The surge also manifested the lack of realism of these games into a mysterious substance that can toonify whoever comes in contact with it. Pizzahead happened to find the stuff and remembered his past life.
  • Once tooned, Gustavo and Stick were guided by Peppino into how their new forms worked.
  • Upon meeting Brick, Gustavo was relieved that she was okay. However, the sight of a giant cartoon rat did NOT bode well for Bonnie.
  • Snick is the pet of Peppino while Mr. Stick had Tail and Boots. Giles likes petting them.
  • Anton is Peppino's ex, is dating Annie, and takes care of both Lina, the pink porcupine that hangs around with Snick, and Annalynn.
  • Bad Breakfast raised Shadow Snick and Aluminum Snick. He is also the one that tries to get toons out of business.
  • Peppina is Peppino's cousin while Madeline is his niece.
  • How the other characters were tooned:

-Peppina found the teeth toy that bit her cousin, which then bit her too.

-Noisette was transformed the same way Noise was: Pizzahead's trap. Same applied with most of the other characters in the Ramen mod.

-Anton and Annie were caught in a bomb that Pizzahead dropped into the demolition supplies by accident.

-Madeline and Theo came into contact with the toonification substance while climbing a mountain.

-Annalynn was affected by the same substance in a mining trip in the same mountain.

  • Snick.exe himself was the only one to survive the surge. However, as he was not sent into the real world, he was lost into the horrorbrew realm and was found by the other exes, making him an honorary member. He also lives with PX as well.

Chapter 27: A Duo of Duos

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Bonnie and Giles were members of a club that specialized in organizing events. The other members included Becky Boyd, Preston Gizz, Megan Borland, and Samuel Ginkar. As the 4 of them were browsing for good music, they were drawn in to Downbeat's mod and played it. When they were asleep, they were taken into the world and he had trouble determining a good vessel for them. In the end, he ended up looking at fanart and a few old BF icons in the files, crafting new vessels.

Becky Headcanons:

  • Bella's vessel has dark skin and black hair. Her vessel also uses the OG BF icon.
  • Her real-world appearance has the expected blond hair from a cheerleader, except she has it in curls.
  • She may not be great at complex math, but she's an expert in writing novels. She uses it to her advantage to fund and promote the university.
  • Her literature pseudonym was "Airhead Athlete".
  • Upon arrival, she began to miss her real-world body as it lacks the beauty her real-world self had.
  • Her favorite thing on a date is the mood lighting.

Preston Trivia:

  • Preston's vessel is based off a fanmade GF design and icon to match with the OG BF icon.
  • His vessel has light skin and bright-red hair while his real world appearance has a dark skin and a natural red crew cut.
  • His expertise would be graphic design. Often times, he would end up making the promotional art resemble movie posters.
  • He has a great reputation with the local cinema.
  • The first time he woke up, he was shocked at the prospect of having a feminine vessel.
  • While working, he loves to munch on a few crackers.

Megan Headcanons:

  • Megan's vessel has light skin and blond hair. Her vessel also uses the unused BF icon.
  • Her real-world appearance has slightly tanned skin combined with short black hair. The tan comes from playing sports in the sun.
  • Her expertise is animation, down to being able to do 2D animation segments in most artstyles.
  • With this, her part-time job is working with Blackwings Studios.
  • After being placed in the vessel, she didn't care about what she looked like as long as she still got to do what she does best.
  • Her favorite movie is Treasure Planet.

Samuel Trivia:

  • Samuel's vessel is based off a fanmade GF design and icon to match with the graffix BF icon.
  • His vessel sports dark skin with brown hair while his real world appearance has equally dark skin with a light brown shade of hair.
  • While he may seem to lack the skills involved with promotion, he is able to gauge what the others feel. Most of the time, he uses it when Megan is feeling down.
  • He also uses that to his advantage to identify what people like for the events by running surveys and interviews.
  • First time in the vessel? Confusion over why he looks like that.
  • Favorite show of his is Atypical.

Extra:

  • Downbeat studied the Minus code as well as a few extra mods to implement the choice between who the player picks.
  • The chosen "BF" always has their "GF" with them. Meaning that Bonnie always has Giles, Becky always has Preston, and Megan always has Samuel.
  • The quartet were relieved upon meeting up with Bonnie and Giles.
  • Joseph had his doubts on fanmade characters now showing up.
  • The real BF and GF were confused on being unable to sense any secondary presences within the quartet's own vessels. Similarly, all 4 were confused on why Bonnie and Giles occasionally act like the characters they're stuck as.
  • Strangely, with this, Plitvice's icon and chormatics were changed to match the unused Gold BF while Patrick's icon now resembled that of FNF Flip-Side GF's while the chromatics were changed to match Holy Quintet GF's.

For the voices and chromatics... (Chromatics - Ingame Voice - Real Voice)

  • Becky: Vs. Minus Annie Beta BF - Musical BF - Grey DeLisle
  • Preston: DDTO GF - Musical GF - Frank Welker
  • Megan: Vs. Minus Annie Mean BF - Jack Stauber - Mindy Cohn
  • Samuel: Lullaby GF - Lexy - Matt Lillard

Chapter 28: The Hotheaded Update

Chapter Text

With the massive Pico update, changes to the mod came with it, mostly with Philip and Nina.

  • Phillip's V-Pose is him pulling out the second MAC-10.
  • Nina's own little cheer pose is a recreation of Nene's peace sign.
  • Week 1 has them wearing the outfits from Sim Date.
  • Week 2 has Philip dressed in the superhero outfit Pico wears in Halloween while Nina is dressed as a bunny with a bloody mask.
  • The two of them got an alternate set of chromatics. Philip's alternate chromatics are Pico's Gamebreaker ones while Nina got Friday Night Shootin' Nene's.
  • Whenever Philip dies, Nina raising the knife has a concerned face, and when the game over animation plays, her face is now in shock over what she did.

Aside from the School Sweethearts, Derek got a few changes of his own too. The main one is that he sometimes pops up near the speakers.

  • In Week 5, he now has a scarf tied around his neck in both regular and Pico mixes.
  • Week 2 has him be a little more formal, having him dressed for presidency.
  • His own alternate vocals hail from Flip-Side.
  • Week 6 is an oddity as for reasons unknown, Derek is the one that is pulled into Hating Simulator. In fact, post-Week 6, Sera somehow ended up crushing on HIM.

The biggest change of all is Week 3. While it is mostly the same, the other Pico in reality is the original one using the week as a chance to get revenge.

  • The usual intro means things play out the same way. Not so much with the others.
  • If the real Pico gets his head blown off, the body would glitch out, revealing his true form. At this, the song would change radically.
  • Similarly, if the intro decides to have the real Pico be the one shooting, Nina ends up throwing her knife at him, triggering the game over animation for that guy, leading to the same thing as if Philip killed him. Also, when Real Pico is about to shoot, his face appears more maniacal, ready to kill his replacement.
  • If Philip dies in the modified songs, this time, it's the real Nene killing him as hinted with the face now being a bloody version of the smile. Additionally, on low health, Nina gets paralyzed and her vessel's original counterpart reveals a bit of herself.
  • Dying in the modified songs causes the game to glitch out and close. This is implied to be Downbeat stopping the glitched Pico cast from killing his playmates.

During the update, a music enthusiast named Audrey Binure chanced upon the mod. Opening it to hear the new remixes, they fell asleep, and once they woke up, they found themselves in the body of A-Bot. Needless to say, the robot did not like the soul occupying his body.

  • In real life, Audrey is 16 and sports dark skin and black hair in a ponytail.
  • The reason why A-Bot was present was because a bit of Downbeat's code left in the Newgrounds servers ended up bringing all the site's bots to life. A-Bot in particular decided to investigate where it came from, and unfortunately, that was when he collided with Audrey's soul.
  • Unlike most victims, Audrey is stuck with A-Bot in control. In fact, the only thing they can do is show their face on the screen. Philip and Nina were freaked out by this when they showed themselves once.
  • The real Darnell occasionally visits A-Bot, with Audrey being traumatized with how their visitor looked like. This led them to be scared of Derek despite him being nothing like their unwanted visitor.
  • Audrey and A-Bot fight a lot, the former over how they have no say in who controls the body and the latter over how he has an unwanted guest in the same body.
  • With the fights, Bonnie and BF saw them and cringed out over the possibility of their own occasional fights ending up like that. They even try to break up the fights every now and then.

A few more changes occurred in the code.

  • Downbeat dummied out the Minus-esque character selection screen, now opting for the V-Slice one. However, due to the Minus code still present as it was a placeholder, Becky, Megan, and Plitvice ended up adding 3 extra slots with their presence.
  • A button was added that allows the partner to be the player and the usual player to sit on the speakers.
  • Strangely, Steve, Bad Captain, Tim, Ted, Tankgirl, and Private Skittles moved more stiffly. This concerned Joseph as he knew a few people who were in his NG-based club.
  • The Freeplay DJ set manifested in the apartment. Let's just say Giles and GF had fun with it. And the character selection stage manifested in a separate room too.
  • In the update, BF and GF sensed four more presences similar to their bond with Bonnie and Giles respectively, one coming from the void, one within Morgana, and two in Hating Simulator.
  • Neil got jealous over how he doesn't have any ERECT remixes and ended up making his own, having some of the Experiments be background vocals.

Chapter 29: Reawakened Foes

Chapter Text

After the Full-Ass Playable Pico Expansion Driver was added to JARFNFM, more presences awoke within the vessels of the base game cast (not the guest stars).

Morgana suddenly felt a second presence. It was Mommy Mearest, who was unhappy with what's going on.

  • Mearest found out what happened to Dearest and hates Downbeat for it.
  • She and Morgana are the worst of enemies as one hates the code anomaly while the other is down bad for him.
  • Unlike BF and GF, she ended up as a prisoner of her own body due to its occupant's will and strength overriding hers.
  • Postgame, she was able to break away from Morgana and reunite with Dearest in Danny's computer.

Within the void, a more spectral Daddy Dearest manifested in front of Danny.

  • The first time the two of them met, they screamed in unison.
  • Dearest is able to sense Mearest's presence, but it was too weak for him to hear her.
  • While Danny has a sense of anger to his ex-wife, Dearest forgives his wife.
  • Postgame, the two of them work together to publish the songs written in the void.

During a snooze, Riley felt the consciousness of Ritz reawaken.

  • Unlike the past examples, Ritz manifested with the size of a normal rat. And also, he's stuck with his original game sprites.
  • The first time the manifestation happened, Bonnie fainted.
  • In Hating Simulator or a maze, Ritz can take control while Riley takes the backseat.
  • Postgame, he ends up snoozing in Riley's head. However, his pal somehow ends up with a craving for cheese.

A Christmas tune was able to bring back the Mall Santa.

  • Sam and Santa first acted like one was a mirror of the other.
  • When Mall Santa is in control, the "staring expression" is seen. When it's Sam, the expression is more fearful.
  • Seeing Sam's trauma, Mall Santa ended up as the unintentional therapist due to experiencing being shot over and over again.
  • Postgame, the Mall Santa ends up as a desktop buddy for Sam.

In the depths of Hating Simulator, a glitch triggered the original inhabitants of the world.

  • Sera was stuck with dealing with two more presences, those being Senpai and Spirit. Meanwhile, Blake and Francis got the BGFreaks based on what body they have.
  • Whenever Sera is in Senpai form, Spirit manifests by her side. In Spirit form, Senpai is the one by her side.
  • Upon encountering TVTropes, Blake's BGFreak took a liking to "Aiko" and Francis' liked the name "Nozomi". As for Sera, Senpai did not like his TVTropes nickname, so Spirit willingly took the "Samuel" moniker.
  • Postgame, the four of them end up befriending their companions. The trio also decided to make an actual Hating Simulator game as well with Newgrounds support.

With the update, each time Bobby sees Bonnie in a rap battle, he gets a strange feeling of deja vu, as if he himself has done something before. Carl himself has the feeling that Bobby might have entered this world before the others

Chapter 30: Minus-ization

Chapter Text

After Downbeat implemented the character selection code to accommodate more player characters, it came with a side effect. As most of the code was based on FNF Minus, there is a rare chance for everyone's appearance to shift to resemble their icon.

  • Bonnie - Blue BF (Boyfriend himself taking the form of HPU Minus BF)
  • Giles - Goth GF (Girlfriend herself taking the form of HPU Minus GF)
  • Philip - Picosaurus
  • Joseph - Tankmech
  • Downbeat - Follows Phoeni's concept
  • Derek - Minus Remake's Darnell
  • Nina - GabeDut's Nene
  • Cindy - Ramen Noodile's Chrystina
  • Spike and Point - Minus Skid and Pump
  • Morgana - Rider Mommy
  • Sera - Minus Senpai and Spirit
  • Frank - Minus Antipathy Hank (with his icon changing from the Vs. Online variant to the Antipathy variant permanently)
  • Crystal - AshGray's Minus Cassette Girl
  • Plitvice - Gold BF
  • Patrick - Minus Flipside GF
  • Becky - Beta BF (Alt oufit is Lofi Funkin Minus BF)
  • Preston - GabeDut's Proto GF (Alt outfit is Lofi Funkin Minus GF)
  • Megan - Mean BF
  • Samuel - GabeDut's Smug GF

As for those without an icon...

  • The Hexengee used the same appearance as in FNF Minus.
  • Blake and Francis end up turning into maids.
  • Sam took the form of a burly warrior Santa.
  • Minos and Morko ended up becoming cat people, the former more akin to a house cat and the latter a wild one.
  • The Experiments took the form of creatures so hideous that it puts Neil's Minus form to shame. Even he can't describe how disgusting they were. And all of them loved it.

Chapter 31: Authorized Records

Chapter Text

With the "FNF Mod Incident", 3 individuals were able to get their hands on copies, specifically ones where no one can access the real world, keeping their souls safe. With this, they took a look at the game and documented the anomalies present in it. Those 3 were Phoeni, Azure, and Milo.

  • Phoeni was able to find and document Bonnie, Giles, Downbeat, and the other playables from the base game.
  • Milo found the entities involved with the other base game opponents and related Newgrounds content.
  • Azure was dedicated to recording conversations and interactions to get a more solid grasp on who the souls are.

Eventually, the three of them would find each other's records and meet up online. Compiling their work together, they decided to document every single anomaly to publish to the public and warn them. As the police and even the FBI didn't believe them, they had no choice but to publish it on AO3 and Tumblr.

  • Phoeni found out about other kinds of anomalies in games and was interested in writing up hypothetical situations. She would hear of a friendly but mischievous Kirby creature lurking in her sibling's Kirby games, and she would find out that this creature is Kibou Tanaka.
  • Azure had visions of another world where Newgrounds characters began to leak out of the game and where Bonnie and Giles became BF and GF. They began to hypothesize what the other world was like, and eventually, the other two received visions of the other world that painted a clearer picture, one that also involved Pizza Tower and its interconnected games (official and unofficial).
  • Milo was busy with issues in real life. Once he felt ready, he suddenly vanished as the day before, he would eventually win a contest managed by Dan Salvato. The prize was a physical copy of Doki Doki Literature Club for the PC, and just as he was about to continue, he also booted the g324d-1kc-et325dsffewq5t43ApX1WNU5hokwqx0q9+n09a0_N=00-n=0nu =09nsA-SN0Hda0nq

Chapter 32: Militant Add-Ons

Notes:

Kinda really late, but here is something to tie in to the new update of FNF.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

With Joseph missing, the Tankmen submissions slowed down a lot. Worried for him, his friend group tried searching all over the Net for answers. Eventually, they chanced upon the mod. Searching for their friend, they found him, but they themselves were pulled in upon attempting to call the police in an effort to prove their friend was in there. Stephen Danker was given the form of Steve, Terry Snap was given the form of Ted, and Tammy Infayrn was given the form of Tankgirl.

A while later, Patch Shake as well as Lou and Sarge Stelm were informed of the disappearances. When opening the mod, they saw Downbeat and demanded him to show them their friends. He did...by placing them in the bodies of the Paranoid Sniper, the Lieutenant, and the Sergeant respectively.

Stephen Trivia:

  • When it comes to submissions, he takes quality really seriously.
  • In real life, he had tanned skin, an impressive mustache, and wavy hair.
  • Hobbies include drawing and coloring. He even made a Tankmen coloring book, wanting to send it to the Funkin' Crew.
  • He kinda has a crush on Joseph, and ironically, everyone but his crush knows about it.
  • Like Steve, his job is to watch over the tank, not knowing the secret within.

Terry Trivia:

  • Prior to the mod, he often sported a pair of green shades.
  • He prefers shaving himself. And that includes his top.
  • Hobbies include playing Frisbee and taking jogs.
  • Oftentimes, he tends to hyperfixate on details of certain events. This leads to him taking a lot of pictures, much to the dismay of Tammy.
  • Like Ted, he's tasked to ensure no enemy can reach the base.

Tammy Headcanons:

  • Amongst the gang, while she seems stoic, she's even more of a goofball than the others in secret.
  • In real life, she ties her gray-dyed hair in a ponytail.
  • Her big dream is to write her own book of jokes.
  • When handling things, she gets really clumsy. This led to her nearly recreating what her vessel did to Steve once.
  • In battle, she prefers physical brawling. However, she's not quite well with knives, dropping them many times in battle against enemy Tankmen.

Patch Trivia:

  • Similar to his vessel, he has a fear of complete loneliness.
  • In real life, he sported green eye contacts and even square shades.
  • When it comes to animals, he loves rats, much to the dismay of Bonnie. He even pets Riley on instinct.
  • When he first saw Giles' demon form in a Week 7 remix, he was so sacred that he wasted his bullets.
  • Oftentimes, he volunteers to attend to injured Tankmen.

Stelm Bros. Trivia:

  • Let's just say that the brothers are the best at hide-and-seek.
  • Lou wore square glasses back then while Sarge sported a huge chin.
  • Lou's passion is puppetry while Sarge's is scriptwriting.
  • Prior to the mod, the two argued over which is the best Tankmen parody.
  • The duo's job in the game is to go on recon missions.

On the other hand, the Tankmen themselves woke up to find themselves trapped inside the tanks, with Captain, Steve, Ted, Tankgirl, Paranoid Sniper, and the Stealthies inside the iconic NG tank.

  • Everyone finds it crampy in being the AI of their tank, as they're all crammed into its computer system. They find it disheartening when they see their bodies piloting the tank. However, they do get control if no one is inside or if someone switches on "autopilot". Needless to say, the original team and the souls screamed when the latter met the former by switching it on for the first time.
  • Captain often takes control of the computer's entertainment mode, now containing both discs of Titanic somehow now integrated into the system.
  • Steve often begs to the crew to ensure that a knife doesn't meet his body's groin again. He really emphasizes it with Tammy.
  • Ted can taste the gas used to fuel the tank, often commenting that it tastes like piss. What he doesn't know is that sometimes, the souls piss in the gas. And sometimes directly into the fuel intake.
  • Tankgirl really hates being in the tank, as she's now stuck with all the "dumbheads" 24/7.
  • Paranoid Sniper often accidentally activates the cannon, firing at nothing if no one is monitoring the system.
  • The Stealth Tankmen often go slow to avoid suspicion, but go fast in an emergency. Unfortunately, sometimes, they can't tell which is which due to stealth missions often going into high battles in their past.
  • When all of them were arguing, it somehow activated a "mech mode", turning the tank into the average giant robot, but smaller. Oftentimes, they fight over who gets control, and the winner is the controller unless forced back into tank mode. This is indicated by the mech's head assuming the head of the Tankman who won out.

Last but not the least, Bill somehow woke back up, now a zombie trying to search for his past friends. While he can see what's going on, he doesn't understand why his friends were running away from him.

  • His design is a mix between his Infinity and 0.5 incarnations.
  • Oftentimes, enemy Tankman corpses can be seen in the warzone, their heads bitten off.
  • While he hates the enemy faction, for some reason, he has a burning hate when it comes to Private Skittles. This hatred grows as each time he eats him, he somehow comes back the next day completely unharmed.

Notes:

BTW, Tammy is by Phoeni herself, this iteration being a way to separate her from her original concept as "Valerie", a classmate of Bonnie and Giles in the FFC AU, the former now being Tankgirl and the latter going back to her original concept with a different vessel in mind.
