"Why would anyone make a maze out of pumpkins?"
Chad shrugged, investigating. "It could be fun," he said, inspecting how sturdy the maze was.
Maya Sterling, Chad's mother, scowled. "We're heroes; we don't DO fun,"
Chad rolled his eyes. "Well, we are undercover. We'll just have to fake our fun until we find where Morgan is hiding,"
Chad's father, Robert, nodded. "Yes, we'll have to do that,"
Chad was the only one who was really having fun; Morgan wasn't at the pumpkin maze. To his knowledge, he made up the tip; he just wanted a break from hunting his sidekick down that didn't want to be a sidekick.
Look, he had thought of it a couple of times; Morgan would have made a great hero like Bat fellow, that hero didn't have any powers, but he still kicked ass, Morgan could have made a damn good hero, but their parents decided everything in the family.
So what if the second his parents found out Chad had lied, he'd be in trouble? He would be in trouble regardless; this way, he deserved to get in trouble.
"I can't believe they tracked you down here, Morgan," Alex said, watching the cameras Morgan had set up.
Morgan hummed. "I don't know; Chad doesn't look like he's working. He's having fun. Dude, he went into the Pumpkin maze twenty times,"
"Morgan, can I please kill your no-good, evil, lying parents?"
Morgan shook his head. "No, Alex,"
Alex lamented at the unfortunate luck. "But I want to!"
"Shh, if we make too much noise, they'll hear us. And this will be great blackmail,"
Alex looked over at the screen, scowling. "Yes, watching your parents take the love boat ride isn't weird,"
"It's blackmail,"
Alex rolled their eyes. "They'll ruin the mechanical monster,"
Morgan nodded. "Yeah, and then they'll be sued, perfect blackmail,"
"Did you have to make the monster look like me when I'm a werewolf?"
Morgan snorted laughter. "Yes, thousand times yes,"
"You're ridiculous,"
