Work Text:
Jim pursed their lips, their cheeks flaming and a squirmy, embarrassed feeling rising in their chest. “You tricked me.”
Oluwande grinned. “How did I trick you? By getting you to admit it?”
Jim looked away, crossing their arms. “I didn’t admit anything . I was just trying to make you feel better. You looked like I kicked your puppy or some shit.”
“You didn’t?” Olu cocked his head to the side. “Because I distinctly remember hearing you say–” he leaned back into their space, lowering his voice as he brought his lips right to their ear– “that it does really get to you when I tease you like this.”
“I was just making you feel better,” Jim repeated, elbowing Olu’s hand away from where it was trying to sneak up their ribs. “I’m not even ticklish, so it doesn’t matter.”
This time, Oluwande outright laughed, tossing his head back with it and everything. “Oh now you’re not even being defensive, you’re just straight-up lying .”
“‘M not!”
He raised an eyebrow at them. “Really?” His fingers snuck up under their arm, tripping a few steps up their ribs before they managed to elbow him away again. “Because I remember this was a little something .”
“It was nothing ,” they hissed at him.
“If you admit it again, maybe you’ll get a reward.”
Jim pressed their lips into a thin line, but they didn’t shy away to hide their flushing cheeks when Olu chuckled, low and deep, right in their ear. Nor did they force him away again when his fingers slipped back into place. A prickly kiss was pressed to their cheek.
“Is this your version of admitting it?”
Jim didn’t reply, biting their lip around a smile as Olu’s fingers found their hips.
“Fine. But next time, you’re using your words.”
As Jim stubbornly swallowed down their giggles, they decided that maybe Oluwande’s tricks weren’t always so bad, even for all the embarrassment. Not so long as they ended in treats like these.
