child trafficking? more likely than you think

Chapter Text

Shota opened his eyes only to notice that he had fabric over them so he couldn’t see his surroundings. His hands were pinned together with something cold and metallic, most likely by handcuffs. However he could tell that he was moving. He tried to remember what happened that got him in this situation. Even when he tried to remember something, the only thing he got was just a headache.

“How much did the mom get from this kid?”

“I don’t know. Maybe a couple million or more.”

“Damm, if my kid was that much, I would sell him too. Only thing he can do is scream. Deafned my wife, when he started crying after birth.”

“Oh yeah you told me about that, how is it going?”

“We got him a muzzle, when he was old enough. Now he is only allowed to take it off when eating and brushing his teeth. Most people judge us, but I don’t get it. He can communicate by sign language and he’s allowed to go school. What else does he need?”

After that Shota stopped listening to them. He had gotten his answer. His mom had sold him to these men or to their boss. And then he started to remember what had happened.

Shota watched as his father drove him to his mother’s house. He didn’t want to go there, compared to his father’s warmth his mom was cold as an ice berk. She always gave him these icy looks. She wasn’t like that all the time, but it started after he got his quirk. His father didn’t care. He told him that his quirk was powerful and unique. His father cared for him more than his mother ever did. He could see that his parents hated each other, and the only reason why his parents even saw each other was because of him. Even though Shota knew that his mother hated him, he did care about her.

Car parked in front of an apartment complex. Shivers went up Shota’s back. He had a feeling that this time visiting his mother would be a bad idea. However he turned his gaze from the building to his father, who already watched him. Shota liked his father; he liked his grey and white hair, which he joked about to be that colour because he was almost 200 hundred years old, his warm eyes and how he understood Shota on another level. He did not talk to him as he was a baby or tried to help him when he struggled, because he knew that Shota didn’t need help and was more than capable of taking care of himself. One time he did try to help him only to be punched between the crotch.

“Hey Little Visionary, are you okay?”

“Yeah, it's just… nevermind I should go.”

“Okay let me get your suitcase from the trunk.”

Shota steps out of the car and looks to his mother’s window to see her looking at them. Sound of the trunk shutting down tells him that it’s time to go inside. Shota starts walking towards the apartment complex while his father silently follows him. He could just feel more and more butterflies in his stomach when they got closer to the apartment. After many stairs they were finally behind the door. He stretched out his hand to push the doorbell when he was stopped by his father.

“I just want you to know that you can call me any time if you feel unsafe or want me to pick you up.”

“Dad, I’m already ten years old and I can take care of myself.”

“That doesn’t mean that I don’t need to worry about you.” With that he pressed the doorbell. Door opened before his finger even left the button.

“Hisashi, you can leave now. Mutt, take your stuff and go to your room.”

Shota took his suitcase from his father’s hand and went inside, but before the door went shut he saw his father’s eyes that screamed something more sinister than just blood lust, his eyes screamed for perfect destruction, torture and death. It only lasted a couple seconds before the door closed. Even though his mother had a strong personality her hands were shaking after receiving that look from his father.

Days went on by Shota avoiding his mother and texting his father so he could stop worrying about him. However this changed when Shota’s mother told him that they were going to the movies. It was rare that his mother would take him anywhere. Actually that hadn’t happened after he got his quirk. However he happily got ready to go.

Shota was happy. He was finally spending time with his mother somewhere else than in that cold apartment. However this was temporary, his mother was this icy and didn’t want to see his eyes. She hated how his eyes turned yellow when he used his quirk. They stopped in an empty parking lot behind the movie theatre.

“Leave your phone in the car, we don't want it to ring during the film.”

Shota did as told and got out of the car. They started to walk towards the building when someone put a cloth over Shota's mouth and nose making him dizzy before going unconscious.

Shota didn’t know how long he had been travelling. He was not even sure if it still was the same day or had it been days, but the car finally stopped. He heard a van door opening and he was pulled out. He heard some rustling before the cloth was pulled over his head and he could see again. He saw a blond man in front of him. He did not look Japanese, more like a foreigner. The man moved out of his way, so Shota could see the words “Hero commission” written on the building. So, his mother thought she could just sell him to the Hero commission to get rid of him. Well, Shota is going to show her that she can’t get rid of him this easily. After all, cold never bothered him anyway.

Hisashi was going to fucking murder someone. The one time his sons bodyguard is sick, his fucking bitch of an ex decides to do something and now his ten year old is missing with his ex getting a suspicious amount of money on her bank account suddenly. Really, he knew his son had an amazing quirk but his supposed mother didn’t agree with Hisashi and thought that Shota, a ten year old child, deserved to die. This felt like the time she tried to stab him before the divorce went through again. Maybe Hisashi should just kill the woman? If she caused this many problems (and even more headaches) why hadn’t he killed her yet? Shota wouldn’t mind especially after this. Hopefully. That and her quirk (Neutralize: puts everything into their neutral state when activated through eye contact, objects and living) could be useful in certain situations.

Exhaling, Hisashi lets all his weight drop into his chair. Sometimes he felt like the whole universe was against him having a family. First his little brothers and that whole hero thing he did. Then Shigaraki Yoichi had to be buried. After that everyone with his brother's soul had gone against him. Then there were both men and women who held his heart though all of them died too soon. His most recent ex hated his son. But little Shota was perfect. He reminded Hisashi a little of his brother but still had that very distinct Shota in him. His little Shota who loved his dad, who used to ask him a million and one questions when he was still under the impression that dads just simply knew everything. His little Shota gone, all because of a stupid little woman could not hold her greed inside her. Because she thought she was allowed to hate something as precious as his child.

Hisashi broke the glass in his hand though didn’t seem to notice as a healing quirk started to already do its work.

“Stay strong Shota. I’ll find you even if I need to turn the whole of Japan over.”
